![]() Drawn by Homura Kawamoto and Tooru Naomura, Kakegurui began its serialization in Gangan Joker in March 2014. The magazine also serializes Katsura Saiki's Kakegurui Twin prequel manga and Taku Kawamura's Kakegurui (Kari) spin-off manga. A third spin-off manga drawn by Yuuichi Hiiragi, which focuses on the character Midari Ikishima and her past, has been serialized in Manga UP! magazine since February 2017. The ninth volume of Kakegurui, the sixth volume of Saiki's prequel manga, the third volume of Kawamura's 4-koma spin-off, and the second volume of Hiiragi's Kakegurui Midari spin-off manga are all scheduled for a January 27 release. The 12-episode television anime by animation studio MAPPA aired in Summer 2017, concluding with an anime-original story. Netflix streamed the anime series in Japan and plans to stream it outside of Japan this year. Yen Press licensed the manga in English in 2015 and published the third compiled volume in November 2017. A live-action TV series adaptation is set to premiere on MBS' Doramaism (Dramaism) programming block on January 14. Wow, I did not expect this to happen since they came up with original ending. I hope they would stick the story to the manga itself because it's far better. ![]() Modified by JerryKen10, Jan 5, 2018 11:15 PM |

Wow, then what was the fucking point of that anime-original ending? They should've adapted the tower game and then end the season. It would've been the perfect spot to end and the next chapter would've been the best spot to continue from. Well, they better adapt that tower game because it's literally the best thing Kakegurui's got to offer. ![]() |
So even after an anime-original ending they still went ahead and greenlit a second season? What the hell was the original ending for then? Whatever, I'll go ahead and watch for more mindless entertainment. ![]() "MAPPA is saving anime. I have spoken." -Hayao Miyazaki, 2020 (source: dude trust me lol) |
First season didn't really do the manga justice at some points, particularly with that questionable AO finale. Hopefully this new set will prove more loyal to the text as these next couple arcs are pretty hype from what I've heard. ![]() |

I will watch this, I enjoyed the first season. ![]() beyond the main focus, I don't think it's necessary to end with the protagonist having been involved in everything." - Yagi Norihiro Houseki no Kuni Club My random anime ramblings blog on MAL |
Oh, that's just great news. I already thought that the continuation will not be due to poor sales of the first season. ![]() |

But like you said, they can pretend that last episode never happened, other anime have done the same thing before. ![]() "MAPPA is saving anime. i only gave season 1 a 7 but it was still one of the most enjoyable anime so i'm looking forward to this seasons and also i love Yumeko ![]() |
Yay more yumeko But what about the original ending? They should remake the last ep ![]() Modified by tragedydesu, Jan 6, 2018 12:38 PM |

So, this anime's 2nd season is immediately announced, but not Hataraku Maou-sama. What the fuck, Japan!!? Hahaha. Heck, imma still watching this. ![]() |

IMHO, it is the same case as with Noragami S1. Production commitee decided that it is better to make anime-original arc for season final than rushing the next manga arc. Plans to make or not to make S2 have nothing to do with it. ![]() |
First season already made me want to punch something with how cringey it was so no thanks, once was enough ![]() |
I might be wrong, but main goal of anime adaptation, is to boost sales of original source material (LN/Manga etc.) maybe manga got such boost that they decided to make another anime season? ![]() |
Lol, out of all the shows to get a second season. I wonder when Netflix is actually releasing the show this year. ![]() |
Excellent news. Really enjoyed the first season and looking forward to seeing Yumeko continue to change the school. ![]() Signature removed. Please follow the signature rules, as defined in the Site & Forum Guidelines. |
Omg yes! I liked it and started reading the manga, it's pretty good. I really didn't expect it would get a second season, I am hyped. This random fake news blog ended up right! XD Just wondering how will they deal with the original end, although it didn't "break" anything important to the plot.. There are some really fucking good chapters ahead, now I really want to see them animated. ![]() |
streaming money, they are very popular in netflix japan.... it's not laughing matter anymore.... ![]() |

Sometimes I just don't understand how the anime industry and its higher ups think. What's the point of all this if you ended a 1st season with original ending, and announced a live action TV series. I guess the one good point of this manga is a really nice art. ![]() |
This Anime is bit a special for me because I watched it with my friend which is rarely to happen, but oh well who would've thought this Anime would get a sequel, but oh well I genuinely enjoy this show tho so I'm hoping the second season will be better... ![]() |
I don't really mind a sequel since from the little bit that I've read. Note I read this a bit before the ending of the anime, but from what I've checked its kinda interesting (had realized I do need to update it). Now... I'm gonna ask, why make an original ending to begin with? Then again, as far as its concerned apparently the goal wasn't the sales of the anime, but the boost of the manga sales which apparently worked. I'll watch more of this though of course. ![]() |
Surprised that this is getting a sequel so soon considering I heard the ending was an original ending. Well, I'll be looking forward to Hayami's performance, I especially remember that one episode where she was all intense, it was great. ![]() |
People, one more time: anime original ending =/= no possibility to continue the manga plot. Original arc here did not affect the plot any way. You could think of it as a filler if you want. Heck, there are a bunch of titles that have anime-original ending contradictory with manga plot and thay were continued using manga plot later and anime-original part was just ignored. ![]() Modified by Nachtwandler_21, Jan 6, 2018 5:58 AM |
