Love Live franchise's main source of money comes from CD releases, am I right?

To be honest, it's probably very even between the CDs and the TV Anime. Had they made a 3rd Season, then obviously it would've been another 3 billion yen or so for the Anime.

Breakdown of gross in terms of medium (minimum bound since not all sales were covered due to thresholds and all)
¥*4,764,392,781 CDs (μ's + Printemps + lily white + BiBi + solo/duo/trio singles + solo live albums)
¥**,142,191,720 CD (Aqours)
¥*2,275,713,353 Live concert discs
¥*5,158,459,080 Anime BD (S1 + re-release + S2 + Fan Disc)
¥**,***,***,*** Movie BD/DVD (probably 1.3~1.5 billion yen?)
¥**,***,***,*** Sukufesu mobile game (no idea about this, but it has to be several billion yen considering how much money is spent on draws)
¥*2,610,000,000 Japan Box Office Gross (as of Oct 7)
¥**,120,000,000 Worldwide Box Office Gross
¥**,247,261,422 Books (School Idol Diary + Manga + mobile game fan books)
¥*1,213,354,906 PS Vita games (only 3)

¥16,531,373,262 Total (minimum bound, BD/DVD and mobile game not included)

In reality the total probably several billion yen higher.

Allright, thanks for your clarification, Ejc.

I always impressed with your in-depth analysis about sals data which made me interesting in it.

48k Debut without any bonuses in it is so insane (in a positive way)
Aqours, you got my eye now.

Love Live franchise's main source of money comes from CD releases, am I right?

But idolm@ster's one comes from its games iirc, so for me it doesn't matter if there's no 6-digit music CD sales for it. However, yes I agree some imas fans might be butthurt because its CDs sold constantly in low-5-digit sales.

Either way, both of them still strong for now.

The Real Deal for idolm@ster CD sales may be this week's Animation Project 2nd Season 05 -> this might be the real test for Nippon Columbia's im@s.

Love Lives main source of revenue comes from existing at this point

I wonder if Cinderella would have sold more if the anime wasn't a soap drama :(

Overlord op and ed are out off the list :'(
R.I.P. you did well.

Not only did an unknown group sell more than the recent best selling first week for an iDOLM@STER CD (It used an event lottery ticket to achieve that) one week after but it also cost about 3 times as much. Japanese iDOLM@STER fans seem immensely butthurt over this. I just recognize that it's the exact same damn Lantis label so the money is all going to the same place and it just goes to show you the importance of brand power yet again.

48k is a good start for a group with a voice cast that has little to no roles outside of this series. Give it some time and they will sell close to Muse numbers.

I'm somewhat to see the Dragon Ball Super OP up there on the list this week as one of the top 15. Also glad to see Miss Monochrome still remain relevant.

21st October it comes out.

12. *9,094 *,**9,094 SiM "CROW"
13. *8,536 *,**8,536 Dragon Ball Super OP "Chouzetsu☆Dynamic!" by Kazuya Yoshii

CROW is probably the weakest single I've heard from SiM. The Dragon Ball Super OP though is fab, still the only good thing about it. Must order it next month.

Oct 13, 2015 5:00 AM by VulgarLife

*9. 12,858 *,*59,997 THE IDOLM@STER LIVE THE@TER DREAMERS 01

75% drop from week 1 to week 2. So CD singles are way less frontloaded that Blu rays/DVD (they are just like manga actually).

This looks like one of nigh unbreakable records. Pretty incredible for the love live franchise.

Debut single for Aqours sold a bit lower than I expected, but still amazing considering it has no anime yet and doesn't have any live concert event ticket application serial code like the Idolmaster Million Live single there. It has hit 50K anyway as of today's daily ranking. It really looks funny when we compare μ's debut single sales with the Aqours single sales of 434 vs 48477 first week. Really shows just how much the Love Live franchise has grown over the last 5 years.

I expected 6~7K first week for Aina, so i'm happy to see her pass 8K.
