It looks good to me. The visual style reminds of Zankyou No Terror, and I like Asano Inio's designs. But is it just me, or does this show look nothing like an A-1 Pictures production? When I first saw the PV, I thought that Madhouse or Mappa were working on it.

A-1 Pictures have no distinct visual style. They just pump out as many shows as they can.

That poster is kinda reminiscient to something made by MC Escher.

Cool, I guess.

I wonder if they adapt whole series or only "Subetega f ninaru" volume

the former would be very rushed and latter would be very slow paced, anyway it is one of my favorite book

I like the art.

Looks interesting but it doesn't pull me in. There is no premise to me that screams a good mystery. But that is just me. Also the designs look very plain in my eyes. Unless tons people praise it I most likely will skip it.

I'm fine with the visuals and artwork although I do also kinda wish they stick more with Asano's designs. The preview gives me a bit of Zankyou no Terror feels in sort of an atmospheric way...

Eh, they could've adapted Asano's designs a bit better, but other than that it actually looks... good!

Hurry up October 9th

One of my most anticipated series for this Fall. I hope it turns out great. The PV looks great already, so that's good.

I'm not too into these kind of dull aesthetics and I don't like how they adapted Asano's designs either.

Dull aesthetics? really? What kinda aesthetics were you expecting for a mystery/murder series then? Lots of bright colors?
To each his own, but I find the aesthetics to be perfectly fine for shows like this. In all honestly, I’m glad they did them this way.

As far the character designs, I believe they look great for a TV series. They still retain the same look of the original designs Asano made. Now, if you were expecting to see Asano’s designs the same exact way as he draws them in paper (manga), well that’s another story. If this was a movie (with a relative high budget) and not a TV series, then perhaps that could’ve been possible.....

though chars design is weird :<

Weird?
I think they look neat. A break from the stereotypical character designs, which (personally) it's always more than welcome.

This actually looks pretty damn interesting. Love the way the art looks, its A-1 pictures so i am a bit cautious but they dont always turn out trash.

I love NoitaminA, why do people complain about Ranpo Kitan? I think it's fine, not perfect obviously but ok (also the OP and the ED are pretty good) and this looks awesome, really looking forward to this one.

I personally quit when they added random anime comedy to it. Like the teacher with the cat ears and her jumping out of the window etc.

Yeah you are right, the teacher is basically unnecessary but I think they added her to create a "deeper" story behind the human chairs, or something like that.... no, you are right, she's useless. But I still think Ranpo Kitan is OK, I said it before, this one is not a masterpiece but it could be worse.

Knowing the original character design is from Asano , I had the secret desire to be able to watch how a potential adaptation of one of Asano's work would look like if it was done in an anime version , or something like that .

But the result is pretty far away from his style in the end . Kind of sad .

That being said , it doesn't look bad in a "anime standard scale" either . I'll try it , maybe it will be interesting in itself .

This is based off of an actual novel? An award-winning one at that. The premise is interesting and A-1 Pictures is behind the anime. Looks pretty promising. I'll keep my eye out :)

My second most anticipated after Sakurako-San, but the key visual kind of confirms a concern of mine: It's going to go for a "wacky"/ avant garde/ surrealistic angle, leading to troubles with suspension of disbelief as is almost always the case with anime mysteries and sci-fi. Hope I'm wrong, because I want this one to be good.

Yeah, same here. I really hope both of them are good, otherwise won't have anything to watch this fall except One-Punch Man, maybe.

You have to be pretty fucked up to call your prize like that.

Well, recently we heared of the "moe awards" so this isn't really shocking. In fact, I think Mephisto Prize sounds much more normal than moe awards.
