Ohsaka Ryota? PA Works seems to have taken a liking to him :) Hopefully his character gets more screen time than Kaname got.

A glass artisan... I only watched two series from P.A. Works (Angel Beats and Nagi no Asukara) but it seems very interesting, I'll give it a watch.

Why I cling on to the hope of this not going romance drama, I don't know.

God, PA works has become one of those studios you have to WATCH.

High expectations can hurt, though.

Initially I didn't plan to watch this when I look at the synopsis. Until I saw the promotional picture and it is going to be animated by P.A. Works, I'm definitely having high hopes for this.

Perhaps it stems from some people thinking that only women/girls can enjoy drama and/or romance shows. Which is not true, I can assure you. But anyways, who cares what a few people think right? As long as the disc buying fanbase was moved to support/purchase stuff, hopefully we will get more shows like it right?

Yeah, I think some having that idea, which like you said, is not true. Yeah, it's the disc buying fanbase which matters and NagiAsu will probably average ~3k-3.5k and it's not a loss and that's what matters.

And yeah, NagiAsu might not be a fair comparison for the story. However, I wouldn't be too surprised if this show did bring a similar level of quality in some of the other things, like music, animation, etc. But yeah, to have a story with the same feelings and/or emotional power as NagiAsu...that seems unlikely.

We'll have to wait and see. :D

Nagi no Asukara a shoujo? What the heck?! So what, if it spends less than 99% of the time focused on the male lead and spreads the attention among female and male characters and their development it's automatically a shoujo? Kudaranai!

Shoujo is a label, and one that doesn't mean that much to me anyways...

To be honest though, I don't expect this to be as good as NagiAsu. I realize it's early, but I just don't think it will have the same kind of feel, but I could be wrong. Also, Mari Okada is not involved right? Didn't she do the writing for NagiAsu?

Apparently by some people, yes, it is labeled as a shoujo. I find it ridiculous as well. That was one of the refreshing parts of NagiAsu. It actually felt like the characters were characters with their own conflicts, their own great moments, their monologues.

I don't expect this to be as good as NagiAsu either. I could be wrong like you, but it gives me a feeling. But comparing it to NagiAsu is kinda unfair. It's a masterpiece SoL, romance, drama anime.
