I made a reply to your post. Hopefully that will answer your questions.

If you're interested, hpulley and I have posted the Top selling CD singles/albums for 2014, complete with cumulative sales if released earlier than the period covered.

Hi there, do you still play Puzzle and Dragons?
I just made a club for it here on MAL, so it would be cool if you could help out.

I have no idea.

There's nothing with more than 2 volumes out under that label at present. Nor is there anything that sells notably better than that one does (leaving aside fanbooks and suchlike).
kuuderes_shadow Apr 28, 2014 11:45 AM
It's also a new label, only releasing its first volumes late last year. Perhaps we'll see more of them getting anime in the future.
kuuderes_shadow Apr 28, 2014 11:30 AM
The publisher of the series is a small light novel label owned by PONY CANYON. I suspect that has a lot to do with the decision, given how many connections of various sorts that company has to the anime industry.

this probably breaks some sort of record in terms of unknown light novel series getting anime adaptations. It's got one volume out, with no reviews on amazon, which didn't rank. Volume 2 comes out this week and is currently ranked 7983rd out of light novels on amazon - 38911th out of bunko series, which it needs to be in the top 50 of for the week in order to rank. Looking at that the sales of this series is probably in the low double digits at best. And there's only one volume out so far. And it's getting an anime adaptation.

Compared to that, Toaru Hikuushi no Seiyaku is massive.

You can't really judge how likely a series is to be animated based on its sales. Obviously a top-end seller with no anime (like mahouka was for instance) is more likely to get interest from potential investors. But the bestselling volume this year of an actual light novel series (rather than a part of some wider project) with neither live action nor anime adaptation is Madan no Ou to Vanadis 8 (36200 sales), which has an anime announced. Of those that don't have anime announced, the bestseller is gakusen toshi asterisk 5, on just 22k (and counting). In other words, the big sellers are all snapped up already.

At the other end of the scale, there are series that get animated which have never made the rankings. GJ-bu made its first and only appearance on the rankings with 7k sales from 6 days with a special volume with maximum anime-boost in effect (the anime aired after the main series finished). YuuShibu volumes 3-7 all failed to rank - volume 8 appearing, again with anime boost, with 6068 sales from 5 days.

Toaru Hikuushi e no Tsuioku was released before the earliest data we have access to.

I'm going by amazon's release dates. Sometimes this is different to 'official' release dates.

Toaru Hikuushi e no Koiuta:
vol 1 - 16005 sales in 4 days.
vol 2 - 10371 sales in 3 days
vol 3 - 10308 sales in 3 days
vol 4 - 13736 sales in 5 days
vol 5 - 15831 sales in 6 days

Toaru Hikuushi e no Yasoukyoku:
vol 1 - 9289 sales in 5 days
vol 2 - no data - sold less than 9853 copies in 2 days, and less than 8256 in days 3-9

(at some point in here our access increased from top 30 to top 50 bunko, so we have data for lower sales figures)

Toaru Hikuushi e no Seiyaku:
vol 1 - 8230 sales in 5 days
vol 2 - 8579 sales in 6 days
vol 3 - 7315 sales in 4 days
vol 4 - 6355 sales in 5 days
vol 5 - 6539 sales in 6 days

I did, the mecha design is similar to White Glint from Armored Core For Answer, it could be the closest thing we'll get to an Armored Core anime if done right.

Kawamori is the reason I like Sateligth, acteally.

But yes, its rather far up my hype list. I'm not a fan of Okada though, but as long it stays away from melodramatic romance, it should be fine. She did work on Sketchbook ~Full Colours~ after all.

Hm, that's weird. Yeah, it slightly dropped but not drastically or anything. The DVD I think sold around 400 based on its ranking of 133, and rank 100 sold 469. It's back in line with what Vol.1 would've sold in the first week (but it's probably around 600-700 in reality).

Yeah, I quite like that ED from NagiAsu. Really shows how much data you miss when MAL has a cut-off of 1,000 sales on their charts. Oricon Youtaiju actually releases the a full CD Single 200 and CD Album 300 list, where the thresholds reach around 250-400. I suspect they release a longer list for premium payers, as this week some Love Live! singles had sales below the threshold for the CD Single 200, but we still found out what they sold this week through Kero TV.
It’s time to ditch the text file.
