I mean... how straight males can handle this?

So, how do you feel when some scene exceeds your tolerance?

I feel a bit bad when my (supposed to be) friends mock me about watching anime. Because every friend I have hates anime. But then I remember ask myself "Why do I even care?" And continue watching because it's my hobby and it's what I like.

Iirc, I'm on 7th episode. I'm watching gochuumon when I get too stressed out dying many times in dota2. I'm not exactly straight but yeah I like girls doing cute stuff and avoid yaoi stuff I guess.

No loli detector buzzing?

Hmmmm, but what's wrong with watching a cute loli rabbit-punching another cute loli? We all watch anime for such moments after all.
Come on man, don't tell me you think of lewding them.

Oh yeah, this one. I only let my guard down when my friend himself tells hat he's into watching anime.

I'd have to find a scene that exceeds my tolerance first. The hunt continues.

I don't know what's to ashame on watching anime in general if you're referring watching anime regarding cute girls doing cute things, well I'm not really into those but if I watched one I wouldn't feel shame either.

Or to answer your question, if I witnessed a scene that exceeds my tolerance, I'll just facepalm. That's what I usually do.

I feel like that if you're feeling ashamed of yourself watching anime, you're watching it for the wrong reasons.

I have so much confidence in my manliness that I can't be bothered by something like this.

Power to cute things.

I don't understand this post at all.

Anyway, sure. I feel ashamed of myself sometimes when watching anime because at times the themes may touch on something personal to me or perhaps just make me feel like I've let life pass me by when I was younger and didn't take advantage of my younger years.

No, I've long since embraced my inner nerd being a long time master of several other forms of geekdom even before I got into anime like Star Trek, other science fiction shows, films, computers, etc.

Hahahaha. Nope. Why would I? I don’t take it too seriously. I love anime because it’s fun. If it’s cute and girly, let it be that. If there’s ripped dudes beating the ever loving crap out of each other, let it be that. They’re both awesome :)

I sure as hell don't feel ashamed for liking berserk and hxh, which I feel are objectively well-made works.

thing is unlike a lotta peeps, I taught myself to stay away from the trashy stuff. anime is not just moeblob nonsense after all.

whenever i watched anime and some wild scene comes up, i think to myself “dude, you’re better than this” and then i still continue watching it despite thinking all of that

that’s why i watched drama, action, shounen on my laptop, and sol, ecchi, shoujo on my handphone.

No more ashamed than when I'm watching South Park or Archer. Anime's a medium, just like film, and it'd be downright daft to be ashamed of an entire medium.

Only time I feel ashamed is if I wasted my precious time hoping for an anime to be better when it never does.

Sometimes but not too oftem.
Only time i really felt ashamed was as i watched some parts of gintama or what its called. Those conversations were soooo extremely stupid till this day i cant believe people actually watch such crap.

Check out Nichijou. Super random and super amazing. :D I think its a kids show but that stuff is just too funny.
Do i need to feel ashamed of it? Well maybe a bit. Who knows, who would judge about it?

No because most of the people I know irl only watch soap operas or listen to kpop and I have a hard time taking those kind of people's opinions seriously.

I don't go out of my way to let ppl know I like anime though, not because I am ashamed but because I am not interested in discussing anime with them. I'll only bring it up if someone else asks me about it first.

I wouldn't really say "ashamed", but definitely like "What the fuck, why do I like this weird ass shit so much I'm an adult." But then I get over it knowing I am the only person who will ever know I watch anime, so it all good.

I'm a straight male who loves shoujo manga and romance anime a lot... I'm not ashamed and I people who know me personally know I'm a sucker for romance soooo I don't get how watching moe or cute shit should make anyone ashamed of themselves, they probably just like seeing cute shit... What's wrong with that?
