| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- That was...alright. I kinda like the background artwork but not used to the character designs just yet. It has the classic feel of P.A. Works and in general, the episode retained a slice of life structure that people were used to. Chika is a cute girl so far. I like her personality and we see some of her past with Haruta. (maybe we'll learn more about them later on). As for the episode, I think it introduced the concepts so far well but hopefully improve with the story development. Ofc, it's just the first episode so that's a bit of an early judgement for now.  Interested to see how this will go. The music part is interesting with the mechanics. |

I hate student-teacher "relationships" because it will never happen and if it did happen, it definitely would be a very complicated and probably messed up one. So basically, there will be no romance than the simple "I have a crush on my teacher!!!" Unless the MC is bi and starts to fall in love with the MH down the line. I'd be fine with the MC being gay if he was actually interested in other students and if the girl was interested in other boys that aren't teachers... |
| This was good! The musical note and the solving of the mystery part were intriguing to say the least. The main character's eyes! The boy is actually in love with the teacher, too! That is certainly something i have not seen before. Very interesting start. Music was good, too. |
| Both MCs are pretty unlikable so far, unfortunately. Haruta is smart, but also snobbish. Chika is just mediocre with her trivial aspiration of becoming a "cute" girl. Too bad, her design isn't all that cute to begin with. The mystery aspect, too, is pretty nondescript. First puzzle had very little or no substance, despite being somewhat creative with the musical notes. Second one with cross cube isn't looking promising either. No comment about the romantic subplot, yet. Haruta's "feelings" towards Kusakabe-sensei is probably nothing but infatuation born out of admiration. At the very least, it won't go the homo route and likely to end with Haru X Chika; kind of like Hibike! Euphonium. |

| Impressive opening shot, with all these 3D stock models no one would suspect it's P.A. Works. Come on! Probably the most inconsistently animated first episode made by P.A. Works. If it's a still frame with little movement it's fine, but when the movement is slightly larger or at a distance it just becomes very awkward, and some of the backgrounds are more distracting than I would expect from a first episode. It's authentic gayness or just fujoshi bait? We'll see. |

The song, everything is good, but Haruta....... i'm still planning to watch this, i like the character design, and i'm pretty curious what will happen in the future. for now, it's going to HarutaXThe Teacher(forget the name) route. i hope they change it into HarutaxChika route. |

| Art looks bellow average in my opinion. Character designs are also pretty bleh (those eyes). I get a really creepy pedofile vibe from the teacher, not impressed so far but I will keep watching. But I got no expectations for this getting any better... |

| On one hand the main has some appeal on the other hand i disliked that fact that she was trying to someone else. Don't like the acting types. That relationship and the love triangle was formed rather quickly seeing as there where little hints that Chika showed feelings for him. It seems rather abrupt. There where some hints for Haruta tho. |
| Both Haruta and Chika are very lovable! ^^ I like how they make Chika, an aspiring "cool girl", quite realistic (sneezing in a non-elegant way, a cat ignoring her tries to pet it, her understanding she can't become a pro flute player from a get-go), but she's charming in her boyish ways. Clever and observant Haruta is a take of fresh air among bleak MCs who usually get outshined by MHs in similar titles (like Shoutarou in Sakurako). I'd like to see him leading in mystery parts of the anime. Teacher gives me creeps, tbh. May it be his voice? Well, we'll wait and see. A love triangle also looks interesting, I heard about this plot turn some time ago, so it got me curious back then. Seems like we're in for some funny/dramatic moments with this. |

Looks like it's mixed reviews so far. Idk why, but I really liked the episode. Sure it wasn't the best episode or had the most interesting mystery or characters, yet still, something about it makes me very excited about the rest of the series. Hopefully it stays that way. I was definitely surprised about Haruta liking Kusakabe-sensei too, but he did blush that one time and he was also really interested if Kusakabe-sensei had a guess about who the student was. So it didn't come completely from the left field or anything. I don't usually care for student crushes on teachers, but I definitely don't see anything romance coming out of this so I don't mind. I like Haruta so far, he's not afraid to be blunt with his childhood friend, but I guess it's because they're love rivals :P Of course nothing stands out about Chika except her character design, but I'm willing to wait and see how she'll develop or the depth she's given before judging her. Really liking the fhana OP song, and I'm not sure if that's the opening or ending sequence, but I liked it as well. Also liked the very slice of life bgm, knew it was Hamaguchi Shiro's work, since it reminded me of Tari Tari and Shirobako. Kusakabe playing the piano while the other 4 members joining in was nice, the scene felt very serene. |

| I am so okay with the love triangle but i feel like its not going to be emphasized as much as it may seem, which is ideal. Teacher x student relationships are so unrealistic bleh. I always keep watching PA Works shows expecting Hanasaku Iroha but sadly, nothing has lived up to that expectation. Shirobako was gr8 tho but i dont think this will reach that, but its enjoyable so far! |

| With the exception of the last scene, I liked this anime very much! Maybe it's because I had absolutely no expectation for this but it's been a while since I watched club orchestra anime and this one came to my liking. (unlike last Kyoani's one) Score: Yey! Looking forward to the next episode! |

I'm really not a fan of Mr Kousakabe's voice though... He sounds way too young to be a 26 year old teacher. Is his voice actor 12 or something? |
| Loved this. Chika is awesome and a "Cute girl". The art style is amazing, as expected of PA. And wow that ending! This is gonna be good, a gay MC is not something you see often but it made me even more hyped for this. |
