HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
(ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧ ✧゚・: *ヽ(◕ヮ◕ヽ)
Great favourites, especially Code Geass, KnB, KnY and Lelouch ^^
Yeah well Psycho Pass 2, without its blatant flaws, shitty plot twists, and dull characters, was mysteriously interesting enough and closed the story well enough to keep me engaged, so I gave it a 7. I think I’ll probably check out the movie too, because I remember there were rumors of Kogami coming back for the movie (Huzzah! Another favorite character to be possibly ruined!)
Same, unless the villains actually have redeeming qualities, I’m not a fan of recurring villains either. And the new villains from the latest chapters don’t really catch my interest all that much. Fighting “mirror” versions are probably one of the most cliché villain encounters in shounen manga and it always just ends with the original doing something a little better. Oh well, hopefully the upcoming fights are mostly fillers and the Arthur arc really blows me away.
Haha well this was the first year that I watched a full year of anime, so I would have to go through all the anime as well. But I remember I talked about it with another user and I remember saying Ping Pong the Animation. The story, the art style, the voice acting, and music were all on point for me and it’s a sports anime that breaks out of its stale stereotypes. Objectively, Ping Pong takes the cake for my AOTY. Subjectively, I would say Gin no Saji Season 2 or Mushishi. Both are just amazing in their own ways as well but fell short from Ping Pong the Animation just because neither Gin no Saji nor Mushishi are really “done” (Gin no Saji should have another season, since manga is still ongoing; Mushishi has a movie coming out next spring I think).
Notable mentions would be No Game No Life and Zankyou no Terror because they were just crazy entertaining for me, flaws aside.
How have you been feeling about the latest shows? I’m liking Junketsu no Maria and Ansatsu Kyoushitsu. I didn’t like the first episodes of Death Parade and Yuri Kuma, but I’ll keep watching them to see how they go.
Yeah I would say “artificial/fake” are not the best choice of words, since all drama in anime are artificial and fake lol. But I think you were basically trying to say that there’s simply too much drama one after another in this show and that’s just not realistic for a show that’s trying hard to portray real life.
Haha that’s amazing! I’m glad you love it :) I was seriously expecting some kind of “over 9000” joke when Hawk started calculating people’s “powers,” but I guess not lol. I’m pretty excited about the next arc because it seems like it’ll focus on Camelot, hometown of KING ARTHUR. I really thought the manga would end after Hendricksen’s death(?), but I guess the manga decided to go on.
Yeah I’d give Shingeki no Bahamut an 8/10 as well because the excitement level has gone down a lot since the show started. I haven’t really liked the last couple of episodes because it was just fight after fight without much progress in the plot or character developments. All the fighting became a little bit dull for me and so I was relieved they finally kept things rolling this past episode. I’m interested, at least, to see what Favaro will do with that Bahamut tusk thing.
My anime of the season is definitely Mushishi Zoku Shou 2nd season. I just have to put this as my AOTS because it’s the last season of Mushishi and it’s been amazing but also bittersweet. It’s really just a personal bias, but Mushishi is definitely one of those anime that I wish would have kept on going no matter how much time passes. I’ll truly miss this show once it’s finished airing, and it’ll be awhile before I find another show that will bring me the same joy as Mushishi did.
Besides Mushishi, I’d say Shirobako just to spite you >:D haha just kidding. Looking at the season as a whole, I am probably most impressed by Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso because of its consistency in pacing, animation, plot, and character developments. I understand people’s complaints about it being too slow, most of the flashbacks feeling too much like fillers, or that the show is the typical melodramatic shounen that’s not very realistic. I also understand the musicians’ complaints about wanting to just hear the performance without all the dialogue in between (myself included), but all in all I just don’t see a better show at the moment. The season definitely started strong, but I just saw a lot of shows falling off as the season went on. I’d say Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso stayed consistent and is, at least in my opinion, a candidate for AOTS.
