I thought I was going to hate this episode because it was showing everything all over again, but I enjoyed the names of the duel and the conversation between the two males.

The fact that it was a clip show was somewhat annoying, but it was nice to see Utena being badass so many times in a row.

So were those titles and color associations supposed to mean that all the duelists are exaggerated personifications of specific emotions? And Utena has to overcome these hurdles (to become mature?), except she does it by literally deflowering them with her sword while wearing men's clothes?

I think the Prince might be a male version of Anthy, or a twin brother. There can't be that many unrelated brown-skinned people in one Japanese conspiracy.

Best recap ever? Possibly, it actually advanced the plot which was a good thing. Also, I'm pretty sure that was Anthy with that nameless guy at the end of the episode.

My take too. They just have to be related.

A well done recap episode. I actually enjoyed seeing the duels again more than I thought I would; plus, I like the various songs that accompany the duels. The new material was nice too and it has me intrigued for the next arc.

Ahahah never saw the deflowering thing going on. That's great ahah.

And yea Utena seems to be a coming of age story at this point.

I usually dislike recaps, but this was pretty good. Don't get the UFOs though, but I have a feeling I'm not really supposed to "get" most of the stuff that happens in this show. lmao

Pretty nice and fast paced for a recap episode. It was nice to see all of the duels again...I'm also curious about that ending though.

It was cool to see the name of each duel. The one that Utena lost was called Conviction, which is pretty fitting.

Is that an egg that the prince is sitting on? It might be the same egg that the student council elevator monologue is referring to. If so, is the prince trapped by it? Perhaps the duel called "Revolution" will break it and free him. And who's the other guy? Is he End of the World?

Friendship. Choice. Reason. Love. Adoration. Conviction. Self. (Stages of adolescence?)

This recap really reinforced the themes of the series. I can justify the themes and tie them with Utena growing up/maturing.

But I can only wonder what will happen from here. She's already defeated the student council, but it's only the 1/3 mark.

Yeah, this was easily one of the best recaps I've watched in the medium. It was super interesting to to see it discussed between the prince (who I'm assuming is Dios henceforth) and what appears to be Anthy's brother.

I'm looking forward to the next stage.

Not much to say about an episode that's 90% recap, except...the purple-haired, brown-skinned guy from the ED! The true prince (I hope)! Not sure why he's being sealed away somewhere, but I have a feeling this next arc is going to break him free.

Yo, the prince's voice is so crisp, love it.

The recap was fine, I guess. At least, it shows us the meaning of each of the duels. And that other guy is Anthy's brother, interesting...

This is how a recap should be done,it was a nice refresher and gave us more insight in the previous events and their meaning.

Usually I hate recap episodes, especially when they're placed in the middle of the show, but here it worked surprisingly well, even though there was almost no new footage. New characters in the shadows, with one of them narrating on everything Utena's been up to until now - who'd think it'd be this fun to watch, and not feel like a waste of time at all.

New arc coming up, with some new characters it seems - I'm getting excited :3

Nice recap, mixed with some plot progression. I guess this episode marks the end of the first "season" (the next two will probably be 13 episodes each, too)

How many duels will we see? So far there're 7 of them. I remember that in episode 2, there was a weird monument with a circle around it. The circle was divided into 12 parts, each of them had an astrological sign on it. Maybe these signs somehow connect to the number of duels and their emotional meaning?

Also, I really got the "Little Prince" vibes from Dios here. Adulthood, childhood and coming-of-age seem to be central to this show.

One thing I felt a need to understand is the red symbol on the arena. I have a strong feeling that I know what it is but I can't remember. What does it mean? It seems to be related to some mystical or occult stuff for certain.

I actually love the recap. I took a long break since I was watching others. So it was good to remind all the duels so far. Plus I have the full OST, so I get to relive it once more and remember some of the theme!!

My favorite fight was Juri. Utena clearly lost that fair and square, but a miracle literally happened in that moment.

So we have two dark skin characters. The prince and the guy narrating the whole thing.

This will be the start of a new arc! Let's go!!

Nothing much to say here. Basically a recap which slightly slips the detail of Utena's prince being this being called Dios. Not to mention it also seems that Anthy's new-found brother is involved in all this.

So this is the turning point: The appearance of Akio or whatever his name is called. Since his presence will be potent, I'm looking forward to it.

So far, this anime has exceeded my expectations when it comes to Shoujo that's for sure. Besides the repetitive duels, the characterizations are very neat to say the least.

nice recap, I liked how the names of each duel are represented, from friendship, to love, to choices and conviction. it seems that Utena may need to win a duel called revolution to free the prince, time to find out.

I usually don't like recaps but this episode played all the songs we have heard until now and it feels almost like a full realized suite, so that was fantastic. The music in the show is just excellent, really theatrical and really over the top. The conversation and added context with the two people in the dark was also an interesting addition. Well done so far.
