 It was announced today between the broadcast of Gin no Saji 2nd Season and Samurai Flamenco that Taiyou Matsumoto's manga Ping Pong will receive an anime adaptation in Spring 2014. It will be aired during the noitaminA block, along with Ryuugajou Nanana no Maizoukin.The only other information revealed was that Masaaki Yuasa will be directing the anime. | I'm really excited for this. I wasn't big on Kick-Heart, but that didn't do much to change how fond I am of Yuasa. And Taiyou Matsumoto's manga are apparently excellent, although I haven't read any of them myself. |

Ping Pong is one of the best manga I have ever read, and after the success of Tekkonkinkreet I'm really surprised it took this long for another anime of a Taiyo Matsumoto manga to pop up. Please no fan service, please no stupid comedy... I hope they stay faithful to the source material. Also... Masaaki Yuasa.YESYESYES. Absolutely cannot wait. I hope this finally encourages Viz to publish the manga in English. |
