X is worth playing just for the music and battle system alone imo. The world and story isn't quite up to par with some of the better games, but I never felt it was so bad that it ruined the game or something like some people seem to feel. I dunno though some people just don't care for it.

13 was supposedly coming out 7-8 years ago. I'll believe it when I see it! But even then I all but guarantee it will be a busted incomplete game.

The game is literally Duke Nukem Forever at this point. I have serious doubts that it will even be released, and if it is, it will be some incomplete bullshit product that is the result of pasting together a decade of random assets from multiple engines. The whole thing is really frustrating because when it was first announced as a "spin-off" or whatever to 13 as Versus, it looked like a return to the spirit of the old games and also more interesting than 13 itself. Now it's pretty much a joke and a grim reminder of how far Square has fallen since the glory days. Yes, I'm bitter about it haha.

They should just stick to remaking the old games. Oh wait, they're fucking that up too now.

Ahhh, Rose of Versailles is excellent! I like the path it took through history—mostly faithful, but with a few liberties to fit the story. The rococo art and fashion is beautiful in an understated way.

Though I'm very disappointed in how the story handles

(I managed to reply within a year! Better late than never @_@)

I see you added Starfleet to your ptw list. I'm watching it with a friend at a rather slow pace, but it's pretty fun. It's nothing innovative when it comes to Sci-Fi or anime, but hey, it's done with puppets, so that alone adds to the fun. I have both the raws and dub downloaded, planned on comparing the scripts based on my weak knowledge of Japanese, and eventually make some dubtitles that would fit the script, unless something was heavily altered. But it didn't sound like that from what I've seen.

Yeah I saw that dude, and Legend of the Galactic Heroes which is awesome. My copies of Turn A Gundam are in the post so all I need is Ashita no Joe to be released over here and then all my favourite shows are available in english.

Sorry I haven't been around much dude, I have had alot of work to do and my career as a musician is starting to pick up quite a bit now. I have recently joined a pretty popular old school British Heavy Metal band as their replacement bassist so Iam gonna be touring all over the country soon. Learning about 30 songs at the moment, really hectic but fun: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C9Khbfc5JA4 Its fun, every track sounds like nit could be an opening to Hokuto no Ken.

Hope you are having a good summer dude

The only problem is...I've never seen it!!! I've been waiting for the perfect time when I've got nothing else to watch
JediMindTricks Jul 2, 2015 3:34 AM
Yup just went to the saucer. Did you see the trailer for the remake?
JediMindTricks Jul 1, 2015 6:24 PM
I'm in the desert prison, just picked up Cait Sith

And good for you, it may suck at first but you'll definitely start to feel a lot better. I've been a competitive swimmer for years, keeps me in great shape

Hey man been a while since we talked, how you been?

I finally seriously started playing FF7. 15 hours in and I am absolutely loving it

As soon as I have enough spare time really, just have to do the final editing now. Sorry it has taken so long but since the beginning of May my life has been really hectic. Despite how much I love doing the reviews it is not the top priority right now.

But it should be soon :)

It feels good to be watching Lupin again. I didn't anticipate having it on hold for so many years. I was following along with the DVD release and then that got stalled at the halfway point. Nobody ever license rescued it, and the subs/HKs that are easy to find now weren't available at the time. Nice to see that I only have the watch HKs for the tail end now.

I'm not the quickest when it comes to watching anime movies. I only got around to watching stuff like Vampire Hunter D, Ghost in the Shell etc in recent years. I typically don't love the flow of movies. I usually end up feeling like the run time was a tad longer than it should have been. If only it weren't for that extra half hour, maybe I wouldn't have yawned in the middle. Of course there are plenty of good ones as well. I figure Wings of Honneamise to be one of them. I'm just not as motivated to watch movies. I much prefer the flow of standard length episodes and 45-60 minute OVAs. Remind me if I still haven't seen it by 2016 lol.

Sounds cool. I'll have to check it out.
Doublas_Mk-II May 29, 2015 9:06 AM
That's fine by me. I don't use my blog much outside of using it to keep track of the films and anime I watch. Feel free to use the name.

Ashita no Joe 2 is probably the best show I have ever seen, I and that is saying something. More consistent, more drama, better character development, a movie level budget for every episode, brilliant sound design and the best part of the Ashita no Joe story. Incredible. Watching it in 1080p as well and I cant think of a single show that looks better than it does.

Cool cool, the name works well. We should collab after you have some stuff done. I want to review Space Cobra as well so yeah that could be done.

Blue Yeti's are not bad but I would recommend the Audio Technica AT2020 which is what I use. With a little bit of post procution it is an amazing sounding mic.

Yeah I have heard its good, I know nothing of the franchise though.

I went to MCM on Saturday, pretty underwhelmed to be honest. If you are not interested in One Piece, SAO, Attack on Titan, Naruto, Bleach or Dragonball there is like jack shit to buy anime wise. And as Anime is like the part of "nerd culture" I associate myself with, I had no interest in the panels, movies and video game sections. That being said, I bought some Gunpla and a Lupin III keychain which was super surprising to find. It was just in a keychain box labeled "classic anime". But yeah, if being trapped in a cramped room full of very sweaty people is your thing then it was cool I guess.

Sounds good, will keep in mind.

Those are pretty good as well, almost all of the Dezaki directed specials are good, minus one or two. I'm really glad that Discotek are putting out more Lupin III releases especially, for a long time there was really nothing at all out there until they suddenly released Green Jacket.

I was fortunate to have been able to purchase the Funimation boxsets of a bunch of Lupin specials that came out in 2006. They're pretty expensive nowadays looks like.

Turn A is a series that a lot of people who aren't into Gundam really enjoy, I notice. Probably because it's so different in designs and tone compared to the UC stuff. I think it's good but was missing a lot of elements that I liked in UC Gundam. Turn A just felt too slow, too different to be considered a Gundam series for me.

I'd love to see Rightstuf release series like Zeta or 0080.

Cool video, also really dig the name for your review show. Are you going to review whatever anime you feel like? Oldschool? Maybe a miniseries dedicated to Dezaki directed anime?

Good luck and hope it works out.
