Hmmm yes and no. I think the biggest difference is that Starzinger's main cast is very intimately small. Four main characters with some sparse supporting cast that you sometime see, but yeah. So it's more like GE999 and Harlock in that regard, along with the adventure vibe. It's more action oriented than those. I'm just kind of shocked for 1978 how serialized it is in ways. It's classic Leiji so I just assume you'll like it for sure whenever you're in the mood. Fun factor wise it's easier to watch in chunks than GE999 for me too. I could watch a lot more if I weren't doing other things, but it's so easy to get 2-3 episodes in a day. It doesn't feel like I'm already 56 episodes deep heh. 73 is almost looking like it feels too short for this one. But it'll be interesting to see how it wraps up.
Hey now, the prequels are thought of quite fondly in this day and age, especially ROTS, since Disney has seemingly killed the franchise.
As for Leiji, I think I’ll avoid his spin-offs lol. I see you finished Kowloon Generic Romance, seems interesting. I’m going to check it out.
Starzinger's a definite 9/10 for me now. I don't want to say much, but it ends up not being nearly as episodic as GE999 or even Harlock. So I say this is some of the Yamato really coming through.
Frick, not even picking up some item drops... that'll be such a pet peeve haha. Makes me think about the treasure chests, think they always had just basic items, gold, etc for Eve herself, nothing lore wise. So maybe just have to avoid the bodies. Well it's good you pointed this out, that'll be tough for me LOL. Like I said about just knowing my NG+ run wanting to do everything will probably be another slow burner. Just the kind of gamer I can be with a game I really love. Gotta pickup and do everything.
War Dress indeed. So yeah I need it. lol, I'm glad the photo challenges didn't seem to be the most sadistic thing ever. They were kind of easy to spot if you were looking at times. But I was just a little too lazy in the end to finish that all up. I think I got them all in Xion and the Wasteland, but not the Great Desert.
I'm playing Ys Seven for now, getting back to this series. Good comfort food. I wonder if anyone else in this world will ever go from Stellar Blade to Ys Seven. lol
The Stellar Blade plat doesn't look too bad looking over the achievements I have left. Am kind of getting that Resident Evil styled itch to be possessed by this game and 100% it haha. I need more 100% runs on PC now right? I guess I could use a guide along the way with my NG+ run to get all the soda cans, and that pesky ONE camp I missed somewhere. But then it seems like a third fresh NG run is probably required to do that low Lily % ending. I saw some people say on NG+ it's kind of impossible to keep it too low, like NG+ itself starts off with it at 58% lol. But yeah it's probably a fun and easy speedrun. You actually don't have to do all the photo challenges? I'm not seeing anything... but they do unlock one of the best looking suits. For fish I got 14/20, that seems like a pain in the ass. But maybe a quick video guide could help me speed through the rest of that. I did feel bad that like all the main supporting cast were around at the end for me, but not the butcher since I still had a fish quest with him, so he died I guess. lol
Oh shit, Tim's got his own UFO story lol. Bob Lazar with the TicTac story was on Joe Rogan I'm pretty sure. Was one of the most compelling stories on this I've heard.
Not sure I've heard of Yuval Noah Harari. You'd think AI would be something the WEF would love to control. Maybe he was just a speaker using their platform? Yeah like 9 times out of 10 when some search engine AI answers anything, I'm still looking for an article or two to double check. All the "Hey Grok" replies on X are getting obnoxious too. I bet X boosts those posts to give it more attention. If I continue down the career path I'm on a bit I'll have to engage with it more and learn to utilize it to my benefit. Wouldn't mind using AI to build code, clean things, and supplemental stuff like that at least.
I saw some clips of teachers a few weeks ago putting in resignations, since the majority of homework and writings they're receiving now are all obviously AI generated and kids just don't care. Public schools probably need to ban phones and a lot of tech on hand. But there's nothing stopping them when they go home to do whatever with homework...
Shockwave yeah. I'd say half of my usage of that one was accidental, since it was the same input as Blink haha. Up B. I think you had to let off the shoulder/block button to more successfully do Blink, rather than Shockwave. But Shockwave kind of acted as that interrupting buffer I needed anyways. I'd say in the first half of the game the wide slash was pretty good too for some mobs, or a quick stun. But yeah then that spinning Burst move was a good replacement for that. It's crazy how complicated some of the late skill tree combos were, I don't even think I used half of them. Like "after enemy does this, A > Hold X" etc hahah. Like the counters that even use Burst energy. Maybe on a potential NG+ hard run I'll need to master that stuff. That's Nioh deep combat there.
I need more artwork of this suit lol. I'm usually not into the goofy stuff like a tail accessory, but it somehow works for this outfit to me. Eve in green is the best.
Tachy mode seemed like style over substance lol. Good way to tank damage I guess? But you don't seem to dish out much either. Was usually worth using on a boss at least once though.
Triplet was the GOAT Beta skill for me. You could even kind of stun lock some bosses if you do it a bunch in a row lol...
For Bursts, the spinning AOE one was decent, along with the Attack/Speed up one. It was cool how activating that one did a little damage, so you could throw it into some combos on the bosses.

Elegant and hot heh.
Endings...
Yeah I'll make sure to double check Lily's progress. Once I started unlocking some "Finish X person's story" achievements I started figuring most of the main supporting cast has that.
Man I felt bad for that one side quest back in the flooded district, that guy looking for his old teammates who got trapped in some building and died. You find a heart wrenching note from them along with the memory stick, then have a choice to hold the truth from him, or tell give him both the note and memory stick. I told him the truth. So later I go back for another side quest and you see he took his life. That was some Nier level dread. lol
