Its finally over. Can't believe it has ended. A great ride. Seeing everyone 10 years later was quite something. Who would have thought Shimaki and Hakudou would get together. Anima's reaction to that was hilarious. Definitely gonna miss this series.

Hyou and Yayoi's marriage made the ending feel a bit too close-knit, but still. A good conclusion to an incredible manga. I can hardly believe it's over.

Only after I read what Kurogane wrote about it (http://kurogane.animeblogger.net/2010/09/04/hoshi-no-samidare-ends/ ) did i start to read Hoshi no Samidare and at the beginning I wouldn't have thought I'd marathon through it as fast as I did. Few mangas make you cry and laugh in turn like this one. I really liked how it ended.

If well done, an anime of this could be really amazing. There's nothing else like this manga :).

I am somehow intrigued when I saw some people in 4chan said that a strange-named manga that I have never heard was acclaimed to be the best manga.

I am very glad that I was following my curiosity....I am torn between giving this 9 or 10. Maybe between....Anyway, this is one of my top 5 for now, for sure.

And animu adaptation wheree????

I heard so many times that this manga had a satisfying ending. I think I had high expectations for the final chapter. I was expecting something bittersweet, like Asahina dying and Yuuhi visiting her grave in the last few pages. But I'm also fine with this ending. This is how TTGL would look like with a happier ending.

A blindingly happy ending. Not necessarily a bad thing, but it wasn't a great thing. I do love seeing the characters after 10 years though.

9/10 for the series.

Fuck yes the last 10 or so chapters were pretty amazing. The ending was all sorts of satisfying too, I love it when stories do a sort of epilogue about what happened to characters' lives after the main plot.

This was a very satisfying ending indeed, I'm glad that I found out about this series, it's really great. The epilogue kind of surprise with how some of the relationships turned out, but it was nice to see everyone ten years after, and I'm happy that Sami's operation was a success.

I would really want to see an anime adaption of this, not by GAINAX considering that Imaishi, Hiroyuki left the studio, so I hope this could get animated by Trigger, since they seem like the perfect studio to animate this.

I enjoyed this manga, so I give a 10/10, and I'm adding this to my favorites!

A tad post factum perhaps, but whatevs. It was a fun ride, and even though the ending might and should be considered as good, I find it slightly bittersweet. The feeling is more meta than it deals with the manga itself, however, and I think that it traces back to a particular core issue which is common to outstanding works. It just feels wrong when a title whose characters you felt for, whose events you truly shared and lived through, whose ending moved you... for such a title to end abruptly, even though you had known it would end with this particular chapter, is a heavy blow.

I profusely enjoyed it, and even though I'm giving it an 8/10 (it had its issues, and I'm not going to overlook them), I do consider it an exemplary manga and one of my favs. I had fun. Loads of it. And that's the most important thing a book, manga, visual novel, anime, film, whatchamacallit should provide. Fun. And boy! was that a hell of a fun experience.

What? Sorano was 18 back then? And Mikazuki was 20 already? The heck O.o And I almost didn't recognize Akane, he really changed the most. Nice that Yayoi and Shimaki got married, and looks like everyone else was dating too. A good chapter; not perfect, but a very good way to end it. I loved this so much.

This is one of the best series I have ever read. The conclusion was excellent, I don't think I have ever been more satisfied with a final chapter of a manga, I think FMA is the closest thing.

Would recommend this to anybody.

I really enjoyed the manga, it has the right mix of serious and funny (especially the faces) and it's overall nicely drawn.
The story was good although I couldn't really take it as seriously as the author probably wanted to present it.
I like how the author put quite a good focus on all the characters. Everyone good pretty much equal action (the side characters that is).
The cliche ending was kinda foreseeable but it didn't ruin it for me or anything.

I kind of think this, too. It was somehow... forced. Was it the mangaka's way of trying to wrap up her feelings for Yuuhi?

When she wasn't appearing in his account of everyone else's lives to Anima, I was starting to wonder this as well. At that point, like you said, I think I would have been satisfied with both outcomes, though.

Agreed. I really felt this the most when Noi disappeared and Yuuhi was then talking to him as if he were still there (at the end of the last chapter). There was something poignant in that which also reflected in the fact that the manga itself was ending. The 10 years later recount really helped to balance that feeling and smooth it out (in a mostly believable way).

Overall, I really enjoyed this manga - which is much more than I expected. The first volume or two were difficult for me; I wasn't sure if the mangaka was trying to write a serious story or not and I was met with these characters that I just couldn't identify with. The introduction of Shinonome was really a turning point of the manga for me - and I suppose also for Yuuhi. The strongest part of this entire series is truly the growth of Yuuhi; and the mangaka did this in such a way that it felt perfectly natural and almost effortless on the mangaka's part. Yuuhi also wasn't the only character to grow and I don't think this is easy to do with such a large supporting cast. In the end, I think the non-serious or almost mocking tone of the story helped to prevent the themes of the manga from being shoved down your throat and thus difficult to swallow. It wouldn't have been the same without it.

I'm very glad this manga was recommended to me. 8/10.

Noi best character!

Amazing manga, glad Sami was still alive, got worried when Yuuhi woke up alone. Everyone's still friends and part of each others lives.

Hyou and Yayoi was surprising, but I could see Akane and Yuki coming a mile off.

Definitely gonna recommend this to people, struggling between 8 or 9/10.

Well, got mixed feelings about this manga..

On one hand - I rather enjoyed it, on the other hand - it didn't feel all that special at all.. not realy entangling as some manga series either.

It was realy well done, but there was barely something unexpected happening.. It was a manga which I would call done completely by the book perfectly for shounen genre.. It's something I would dare call a classic. It's easy to read and understand, yet good enough to keep you interested and sometimes adds spice with comedy/romance. Yet even though that makes a great manga - I realy thought there was.. uhh, how to call it better - a soul lacking in there. It was as if everything was too forced on reader.

Neitherless, it was enjoyable and I liked it - 8/10.
