Good stuff this episode, got some badass fighting, tense moments, and attitude all in one.

Machu looks like she pushed herself to the limits, crazy. Solid soundtrack this episode but damn, Machu really needs to watch herself here.

Khara you’ve done wonders on me. Oh my goodness this was the best episode by a country mile. It had everything I love. The political intrigue, romantic angst, character drama, amazing fights.. perfect mix of Zeta and Eva rebuilds?! Hello?! fawwwk. Glad I didn’t watch the previews, this gave me the same feeling I had watching the movie in theaters.

Knew things were reaching a boiling point between Machu and Nyaan, but I didn’t think it would happen this soon holy shit. It wouldn’t be Zeta Gundam inspired if we didn’t have women “throwing everything away for a man” as Annqi references lol.

Respect to Machu for taking, or at least trying to take, the money Annqi owed them. That stand off was so tense, Machu’s seiyuu does such a good job of selling her pain and sense of betrayal. The one safe spot she thought she had has been compromised and now the best friend she thought she had has fallen for the same guy.. can’t talk to mom, can’t talk to Shuji, can’t talk to a friend.. what’s left for her?

The psycho gundam?!! It looks so much more terrifying in Khara’s style. The massive Flying Fortress form really imposes in a never before seen way, but the skinny form where it sheds its armor is legit just an Eva. Matter of fact that entire battle just felt like it could’ve come right out of 3.0 1.0 down to the psycho gundam getting impaled by the beams. Incredible animation, storyboarding and that OST 😩 perfection. Also, “I field”= AT fields??

“Let’s get out of here just you and me. Leave the Gundam and Machu behind” is crazyyyyyyy 😭 the fact Nyaan was legit willing to just abandon Machu all because they both like the same guy is wild. Who needs enemies when you got friends like that. I like messy stories like this because I love angst and drama so it’s great to me. But I can’t see how Machu and Nyaan will be anything but enemies the next time they see each other given Nyaan’s off with Zeon now and Machu is in a cell. I mean damn Nyaan didn’t even mention Machu when Kycilia asked if she had friends that’s insane

And where tf did Shuji disappear to? He said he could see the other side, is that him unlocking the ability to perceive 4 dimensional space or what 🤔 so many mysteries!

Chalia with some expertly executed 4D chess. Won over Kycilia and got rid of her suspicions while learning more about the enemy’s capabilities. Definitely learned a lot from his former mav. Can’t wait to see what comes next.

Edit: wouldn’t be a Khara project without a white haired character that gets hyped up, fans fall in love and killed after one episode 😂

So Nyaan confronted Machu about her feelings, but Machu asked the same question back. Neither of them replied, yet they both knew each other’s feelings for Shuuji. Nyaan held onto Shuuji and asked if they could both run away. Well, my boy doesn’t want to. He only wants to go where Gundam wants to, so back off a little 😤!

But what happens to Shuuji now? He seems to have disappeared too. And where did he go? He said, "I can see the other side." Where was he talking about? And how was the Red Gundam able to perform the Zeknova reaction on its own? Not to forget, how did Shuuji start levitating?

That Deux girl lost it, and those wild attacks with that mobile armor were something else. Not just it's size, but the things it's capable of are nothing to scoff at. Still, the way the commander fought was the best out there.

Machu took all the risks for Shuuji’s sake, and when she couldn’t find him, she lost it. Girl, you should’ve been escaping instead of looking for him and losing your cool in battle, only to get captured.

Machu’s mother’s face looked like she had seen a ghost. Now Machu’s captured and being investigated. Hopefully, they show what’s happening with her family too as the story progresses.

This episode did a lot to progress the plot but felt kind of rushed I feel in a full length show this would have been maybe three episodes with a lot more focus on characters especially Gates and Deux who just seem to appear then die

What an absolute banger of an episode that went the direction I was so hoping it was, clan battle converging into an absolutely devastating turn that ruins Machu's life and forces her into a position that she can never return from. Feels like everything the show has been building up to paid off all at once and the way we are positioning ourselves for the inevitable Nyaan vs Machu endgame has me super excited. The only thing im confused on is the same thing probably everyone is with whatever the hell is going on with shuuji, I get the vibe alot of the people who hate Unicorn and its newtype stuff are gonna DETEST this show, though I'd always argue those people have selective memory cause newtype shenanigan's already got into the absurd in the later half of zeta where multiple characters are literally throwing around physical manifestation of their willpower to harm other mechs (paptimus vs hamon) or kammile making his beam saber so strong it nukes a mobile suit like a orbital laser. I'm not saying whatever the fuck this shuji stuff is can be outright written off by that im just saying its not gonna be that far a stretch unless it literally ends up being interdimensional travel or some shit

I do think this isnt as strong as it could of been though simply cause 12 episodes, this really would of been an amazing turning point as an episode 13 and 14 of a 24 episode show where we could of build up the trio's relationships better whereas with what we got is alot of assumptions, I still am enjoying the ride but I keep getting the vibe we would be getting an incredible show rather than a pretty good one but still im at the point where I can call this series a success and a worthwhile experience for a fan of the UC. I think this series is gonna be naturally really polarizing and basically inaccessible by first time viewers, but its such an interesting swing for the franchise as this weird little experience and I'm all for it right now.

Are we supposed to believe that Machu is some sort of "Lock picking Lawyer" and she had the skills to hack into Annqi's safe?

Xavier & Challia Bull's "cavalry" move felt quite cheap. I hope the next episodes do expand on how they got their mechs without any of the armada ship knowing their whereabouts.

Shuuji waiting with his arms open to catch Nyaa was absolutely bullshit. The speed and force moving her gundam and ejecting her would had crushed both to death (not to mention his cheap teleportation move already waiting for her). At least there's a good thing that I liked in this episode, taking the most boring character Shuuji away with magic bullshit particles that may or may not be explained later on. Also I'm kinda happy Machu was kept as a prisoner and placing her away from the spotlight for now, her angsty character is kinda starting to grind my gears.

Some of the sci-fi writing in this Gundam iteration is almost on par with some of the cheesiest Star Trek series. At least Star Trek TNG had fun mariachis.

Machu willingly exchanged places with Nyaan so she could steal the money for the glider during the Clan Battle.
Annqi confirmed Challia's suspicion that the GQuuuuuuX has two different pilots.
The "air conditioning unit" flies. Psycho Gundam has a grille for a face.
So the Side 6 president managing the illegal clan battles without the MP's knowledge!
Did the Omega Psycommu just eject Nyaan? It seemed like the GQuuuuuuX didn't want her to pilot it.
Nyaan tried to get Shūji to leave Side 6 without Machu. Shūji starts talking about the "Rose" and notices something is wrong, pushing Nyaan away.
The Red Gundam's Alpha Psycommu starts glowing and Deux starts to react to it from the cockpit of the Psycho Gundam.
It's the Zeknova, albeit on a smaller scale. A black-hole-like object takes the Red Gundam, Shūji and the surrounding area to the other side, leaving behind a spherical cut out.
Kycilia heard heard lala sound but her aide didn't, hinting at Newtype potential (like Amuro's crewmates in 0079). She recognises the Zeknova as occurring at Solomon.
How did the Red Gundam appear again, then?
Deux, without her Kira Kira, casts off the Psycho Gundam's armor. neither the MPs or the Sodon can stop it.
It climbs the government building for claim it's target Kycilia.
Xavier had a replacement MS? ITS A GYAN?
Challia the "Grey Phantom" goes out in his mobile armor and stops the Psycho Gundam, it proves he's not a threat to Kycilia.
Machu is about to be arrested but the GQuuuuuuX opens itself for her (it's an empty cockpit, is it alive?).
She feels can't do anything without her MAV Shūji but before she goes berserk, the GQuuuuuuX is rammed by Challia. He got one of the MS he came for but not the Red Gundam.

Meanwhile, Nyaan, who has aspirations to enroll in Zeon University of Technology is recruited by Xavier (in his eyes, she is the "true pilot" of the GQuuuuuuX).

Nyaan is now with Kycilia's faction and Machu is in the Sodon's brig.

Challia wasn't a Gihren loyalist, he's continuing Char's Newtype revolution since Challia confides in Simus about killing both Kycilia and Gihren.

So the remaining parts of the movie are going to be in episode 8.

I thought Machu was bad but Nyaan ain't any better either. This bitches only care about themselves and look where that got them. Things got turned upside down fast. But why does this feel abrupt and so detached, like it just happened. So the kira kira is gate to isekai? Shuji got isekaid? So does that mean Char was too? The two new character both dead? White hair seemed like had more important role to play though. Also what was Annqi's deal.

Machu and Nyaan are now on the opposite side and will eventually fight as Chalia Bull wants to kill Kycilia and the supreme commander. Well it aint Gundam if it isnt messed up. Looks like real story starts from here.

This show still mostly sucks ass at character writing, with the only character moment that felt earned all episode was Machu finally passing the point of no return. Despite my initial reservations with Machu's characterisation, this has been built up well and feels thoroughly deserved with the progression of the story up to this point. But nothing else has been.

Deux going batshit crazy like all Cyber Newtypes in previous Gundam anime felt like it was done out of obligation and was comically rushed, and then used so Anno could wank himself off by turning it into basically an Eva. And then they killed her off in her very first fight scene with ridiculous ease, just showing that her existence was completely pointless nostalgia bait.

Nyaan being so attached to Shuji after interacting with him in one episode - with that "interaction" basically consisting of using him and his Gundam as a meat shield - felt incredibly forced to try and wring an emotional moment out of Shuji disappearing into the "Kira-Kira" (they really laid it on thick with that "emotional" vocal song over this bit). They're really, really desperate to try and force a love triangle there with Machu also having feelings for Shuji, but at least she's interacted with him more than once. They had something interesting going on with Nyaan a couple of episodes, but have abandoned that for a cliche and forced love triangle?

And Shuji vanished because... why exactly? Any purpose other than the aforementioned forced "emotional" moment.

And we're getting another flashback episode next week? At this point in the narrative? Other than more nostalgia pandering, why?

Everything just went chaos badly. Clan battle in the city. Nyaan wanting the abandon Amate/Machu. Shuji disappearing with the red gundam explosion. I hope to life Nyaan will get her own brand of punishment maybe even death. The fact she got away and not be severely punished is just too lucky and be picked up or be with the Zeon side or whatever she is with. Machu on the other hand. Well Machu is in jail and is now a criminal and her mother is going to flip out hard.

The show: Explosions, people die, the cutest character blows up, one of the main characters disappear in the void
The music:

And Challia Bull is not a traitor who wants to kill Kycillia for Gihren... he is a traitor who wants to kill both lmaoooo he is working for Char since the beggining

I liked the episode but I think it was wasted potential. We wanted to see more of Deux and of this insane new Psycho-Gundam but we only got a few minutes of each. I blame those b*st*rds in suit who will do everything to make series shorter and shorter and who ruined WfM but that won't change anything for us, we have to get used to shorter series

Xavier was piloting one of those made by M'Quve mechs, does all Kycilia's pilots use such or he is a special case?

Nice episode.
It had everything - suspense, action, political intrigues, Challia Bull's time to shine, twists which actually make sense and last but not least teens being inexperienced and making life ruining mistakes.
Fun.

Deux was super wasted potential. Though there is a small chance she is alive, as Psyhco Gundams cockpit is in their head and that part of the machine did not get hit. Also there is an afterscene where police are investigating in an alley with a blood trails. That could be her. But alas her chances to survive that is slim.

@kuribo-04 I know for Tsurumaki's short series but you can't say there's not a problem with Deux and the Psycho-Gundam having only 5 minutes of screentime and not being a 1 or 2 episodes arc to... like... make a good story with important themes like psycho-newtypes and not them being just cameos

Sure, that doesn’t negate the parallels between the series and I’m sure Anno would agree he was influenced by Tomino. Hell even Gendo’s outfit is very similar to Bask.

That newtype being called Deux ( 2 ) is a subtle reference to the fact that she is present for only 2 episodes.
I mean, I wasn't attached to her but it felt like slightly more could have been done with her before killing her off. It felt like as the combat started, she just directly went insane, confirming that she won't survive the fight without the slightest amount of characterisation.
Chalia, my goat, he was so fucking cool in this episode, guy managed to beat a psycho gundam and her Mav alone and seems to have interest in Machu.
Talking about the Psycho Gundam, that design was so cool, the bits flying around make it look very menacing.
Wonder what happened to Shûji, is he just dead or as he just teleported with the red Gundam? From what I got, the "rose" is the Zeknova ?
Now looking at Machu and Nyaan being separated. On one hand, Nyaan becoming a pilot for Zeon and most specifically Kecylia, it's interesting considering that last episode we could see a study book about Zeon university in her room so maybe working for Zeon was eventually one of her goals. On the other hand, Machu is with Chalia which seems like he wants to use her to pilot the GquX and still has his goal to Kill both Kicylia and her brother. We have our two main characters on a different side so I actually take back what I said in a previous episode about those two having no chance to end up trying to kill each other because they may end up fighting now.

@N_Erwann I would have liked more of them but it's not like they were introduced as mains or anything. It was over pretty quick but it's not a major flaw imo.
The point is still made that Zeon's enemies, or some of them, are taking extreme measures in this timeline as well.

The turning point has arrived, and there's no turning back now...

Gotta feel for Machu in this episode, as it felt like she had no one to trust anymore. Her mom isn't easy to talk to, and now Shuji and Nyaan have kind of left her in the dust. It was definitely understandable that Machu would want to take the money earned from clan battles and just leave, since she's gotten betrayed left and right. Everyone in the show feels like they are losing their minds, and in such a brutal world, I can't really fault them for that. Things are heating up for sure, but it seems like the next episode will once again be focused on Char and more of a flashback sequence yet again, so we'll see how that goes.

I sincerely think G-quuuux might be the biggest filter of a show I've ever seen, not that you need a record high IQ to understand it, but cause its a show that is so unapologetically for the super freaks of the franchise and it does not give a damn to clue in the ones that aren't. Theres just such a density of subtext and explorations/subversions of ideas from the UC that its been an utter delight going week to week and seeing people discuss and engage with. Hell it even seems to say to hell with people that only latch onto the aesthetics of the UC and not the writing with how the show intentionally adopts a cartoony artstyle to contrast the content similar to 079's more cartoony movement and designs.

If it became like this all the time yeah fuck that, but gundam has bent itself over backwards for like 40 years to be inclusive to a million jumping on points, lets enjoy the one truly self indulgent one for the freaks cause the last time we truly got that was stardust memory and that show can only be enjoyed by people with a cuckhold fetish.

Weird episode. Don't get me wrong, the production quality of it was high and the episode itself was fun to watch. However, the episode started in a way that seemed rushed, as if the creators wanted to jump right into the Clan Battle. With the Zeknova remaining a mystery, the moment with it "devouring" Shuuji looked awkward. Machu's actions are total idiocy and I'm glad she got caught. The most interesting characters out of all newly introduced ones are Nyaan and Xavier.

The best elements of ep. 7 were definitely Deux' rampage inside the colony in that Psycho Gundam-like mobile armor, and Challia Bull receiving (rightfully) his moment of glory showing his huge skills. Oh, and I also liked Xavier getting his own cool moment as well.

Next episode seems to be a flashback. Lovely. Episode 2 was fantastic. I hope we will learn more about what exactly happened in Solomon with Char.

What the hell happened here? Skinny brunette goes with zeon and skinny ginger is thrown in jail? Where’s the Gundam whisperer? And the officer geezer is invincible against giant newtype-piloted A/C robots? This is typical sunrise, starting off interesting and then weaving unnecessary drama and backstabbing, just like the witch. Oh, and is char in next week’s episode??? Please not another flashback. Sunrise just can’t have an action mecha show without melodramatic nonsense. Could be a late drop for me next week.

Utterly fantastic! I'm becoming much more comfortable with this show's overall pacing, and I'm happy to see the plot move with this lateral momentum. Machu and Nyaan being split and put onto completely different trajectories is easily the biggest change to the status quo. I can only imagine with how we're already seeing Char in the teaser for next week's episode that we'll similarly be reuniting with Shuji rather soon, making our main girls' divergence that much more impactful for the time being.

I think killing Deux is kind of a great service, because rather than dull the original plot beat with a pseudo-retelling, we're being shown a truly different style of thing (almost entirely) from said original. She and the Psycho Gundam were very cool, but I think Challia's thorough trouncing of them both in the Kikeroga was just as worth seeing. Not to mention Xavier's downright heavenly arrival in the Gyan. Without a doubt though, the Psycho carried hard in the visuals department this episode. The mechanical animation/design of this series really hasn't disappointed me yet.

Loved the action but the character drama continues to fall flat, Nyaan's confession to Shuji asking him to run away with her could have been really impactful if we'd actually seen them spend any amount of time together, same with Shuji vanishing in the Zeknova, I expected it to happen just not this early and it didn't have the impact I was hoping it would because there was so little to Shuji's character. Machu's classmates find out she's wanted but it carries little weight because they had about a minutes worth of screentime and don't even have names. I'm also sad we didn't get to see Deux and Machu interact even once, I think that could have made for a fun scene.

Machu's mother is gonna suffer because of her daughter😞
@MrHunterxHunter

Her mother should have been more involved in her life, instead of focusing on her job and raising a latch key kid, thinking more money automatically means better adjusted child.

This episode really cemented for me that Machu and Nyann are selfishly projecting their desires on to Shuji. It's more about their teen angst and escape fantasy than the actual guy. I love it, honestly! I was expecting messy, immature characters, and its delivering. But I wish they kind of went more in depth on the characterization in the previous episodes, because it's felt a little flat (or maybe just understated) so far and it's been hard to get any sort of emotional attachment to this trio. Definitely felt the pain from Machu and Nyann this episode, though.

This episode really feels like we're finally getting in the swing of things! Total chaos, Shuji sucked into the void, psychotic Kira Kira breakdowns, political tension, hell yeah. Now that everything is up in the air, I'm excited to see where it goes next.

On the next episode of GQuacks, more nostalgia bait, generic melodrama, and pointless characters introduced to die.

I'll take the pointless characters' deaths as a plus in this clown fiesta. At least that makes it interesting not boring.
@Kimurah

Bro last episode Machuu watched her type in the code. She didnt hack the safe.

Well we can confirm this gquuux Gundam production series compare to other gundam is :

1. Extremely unstable gundam.
2. Kira kira has very psycho drug effect. For both man made new type and pure new type.
3. And much more chaotic it's not save for the pilot.

Boi this hella dark if think more about it.

I'm no Gundam expert, but it feels dissapointing to introduce a character like Deux, and then kill her after one episode where she doesn't get to fight or meet any of the main characters.
@JewelRunner

I'm sorry to disappointed you this happen a lot in gundam series since OG gundam.

Put pretty girl for short time screen........ Then dies.

Shuji really just phased out of reality. "Oh man the going is getting rough? *despawns*" XD
