There is also an issue with routes. In case of many visual novels, in game you can select one and go with it, but in anime they make it into straight up harem.
I can send you some Haji & Kuro links if you're interested. Since it's a patch (based on spreadsheet translation) it works in-game and you don't need to use outside tools. The only downside compared to waiting is that some NPCs in town which aren't needed for any quests aren't translated.
There wasn't much of Shizuna in Kuro 1 to be honest and I usually avoid any excess info about the games I'm yet to play, but I hope she'll get more screen time in 2 & 3. But new graphics is very beautiful indeed.
Indeed, anime original works better for the intended purpose. Anime adaptations of video games or visual novels are disappointing most of the time because, unlike manga where you just animate panels and add sound, formats are inherently different.
Unfortunately, I'm not from Japan, and my knowledge of Japanese is very limited. I know hiragana, katakana, about ~600 kanji and I can more or less understand casual talk both by ear and by text, but that's about it, not enough to play a text-heavy game like Kiseki. I've played both Haji and Kuro 1 with fan patches. I wanted to wait for official EN releases, but after NISA struck down Zero Field team (guys who were making spreadsheet translations) it was my last straw with that company - even though I hated their translations (especially how they butchered Juna), I still was set on on continuing purchasing new Kiseki games day one on Steam, but alas. On the bright side, it prompted me to play both Haji and Kuro on patched CLE versions without regrets and I had a great time. Though it kind of sucked my five year long romance with Laura sort of ended when I discovered one of the new characters...
Hey, thanks. You have quite an old account (2008), that's rare.
I try not to hype myself too much in case it doesn't live up to my expectations, but yeah, I'm eagerly awaiting Northern War anime too.
