Synopsis

Asta and Yuno were abandoned together at the same church, and have been inseparable since. As children, they promised that they would compete against each other to see who would become the next Emperor Magus. However, as they grew up, some differences between them became plain. Yuno was a genius with magic, with amazing power and control, while Asta could not use magic at all, and tried to make up for his lack by training physically. When they received their Grimoires at age 15, Yuno got a spectacular book with a four-leaf clover (most people receive a three-leaf-clover), while Asta received nothing at all. However, when Yuno was threatened, the truth about Asta's power was revealed, he received a five-leaf clover Grimoire, a "black clover"! Now the two friends are heading out in the world, both seeking the same goal!

Seriously speaking, I have never read or watched Naruto before but seeing the reviews that this manga is getting just makes me want to write my own opinions down.

So, for a person who has never read or watched Naruto before, I find this a great shounen manga. Many say it is a ripoff of Naruto but technically, there are many other mangas that seem like a ripoff of another. Aster, the main character, is able to nullify magic and that is seen as special. What comes to mind? Mikan from Gakuen Alice.
Personally, I find the main character extremely similar to Hinata from Haikyuu!. Not only read more

Story: 3/10
Black Clover follows the action/adventure shounen manga type to the letter. It follows the style of a main protagonist and friends raising their skills in a particular art in a special group to achieve a goal. In this case, Aster (the main protagonist) and friends join the magicknights to try and become the next sorcery emperor.

I wouldn't call that premise as a cliché as it is far too used, more of a genre. The clichés come after.
1. Main protagonist (MP) seems to have no talent, but has a hidden talent that makes him the messiah.
2. MP's friend is a genius yet cares deeply read more

Why do I read this? I hate cliche and mediocrity. I should hate this. Anyways, Black Clover is your typical mediocre shonen manga. It has a premise ripped directly from Naruto. (Young boy who doesn't fit in for _____ reason and sucks at being a ninja/wizard for _____ reason and is an orphan, and has an emotionless orphan rival who's good a everything and main character wants to become the leader of his village so that everyone will respect him.)

There's little to no characterization as we know next nothing about our main character Asta other than, well I'm not gonna explain his character. Think read more

Black Clover its a really cool and good series that everyone can enjoy. I also wrote a back story about how i felt about it since I like the creator, feel free to skip it if you want.

-Back Story paragraph:

About 6 months (or something) after the cancelation of Hungry Joker
(creators previews work, its awesome check it out),
Mr Tabada (the creator) made a one shot named "black clover".
I live in japan and i bout a copy of Jump Next to read the one shot and its was cool, not so good read more
