| I've seen fans 'celebrate' characters' birthdays whenever they have been stated. I find it pretty cool that Senku from Dr. Stone has a birthday that was said in story, so there's that. Natsuki Takaya-sensei, creator of Fruits Basket, has recently stated that she regrets not giving her character's birthdays after she saw fans celebrating what they believe was their date of birth. So it's really up to the mangaka if they want to include that information. There's a lot of school-based anime so age is usually implied based on school grade/year. Overall, it'd be cool if they would though! |
| it's already a thing writers and authors have been doing for years tho, people like Eiichiro Oda states outside of the story characters ages every now and then and one piece characters get their birthdays chosen by fans and such, if it's a plot that goes over several years in series then the characters age usually gets mentioned as well. it's usually not a major thing to consider plot wise i'm chill if it's stated outside of the show though |

| I tend to over think minor details mentioned in passing and want answers to them. I can't bring any specific ones to mind, but a lot of them were age/relationship related (as in relationships between characters) |

| Writers can do whatever the heck they want. It's their story. Surely there are those who have a want for such information, but it's not always relevant otherwise. And writers might have bigger things to concern themselves over. |

| They actually do that most of the time, especially in romances. Maybe in action stories they don't cause that's not that relevant to the action focus of these types of series. |

| I think it is often pointless and even harmful sometimes. Say you like character and wants to make her your waifu, but then anime states she is underage. Then it makes it awkward, (my waifu when she grows up then) Zodiac too can be confusing, not every author understand zodiac well and sometimes will give character a birthday with a zodiac that is not matching them at all. Sometimes it could make sense if it plays some role in the story, but otherwise it is not useful at all. |

| They do state them quite often, although I think that the most effective way to reveal additional character details is in the story. I suppose it's nice to know blood types, dominant hands and horoscope sings and height's sometimes. |
