Exactly as the title says. My pick would be World Trigger season 1, boy was that show was slow, not to mention the unnecessary filler arcs.

Can't disagree on World Trigger. No other anime went from a 6 to a 9 from one season to another.

My pick is Chaos;Child. From my experience and also looking at vndb, I can say that a good adaptation would definitely be rated higher than Steins;Gate 0 (so rated above 8.5 instead of the current 6.33).

I heard most SciAdv adaptations were done unfaithfully, which is a shame seeing how they could be classics like Steins;Gate. Actually, I think most vn anime adaptations were done so poorly lmao

Sword Art Online if they didn't press all the good stuff into some episodes with massive time skips just to have more time for the elf shit that nobody cared about.

Also A Silent Voice should have been a 12 episodes series and not a movie.

One Piece. If every episode have the quality of 1015 + improved pacing, the anime would've been in the top20.

Mahou Sensei Negima. It wasn't necessarily bad per se, but it didn't get a proper adaptation.

I agree with World Trigger too, it's unfortunate that there are so many anime that are badly adapted.

Rurouni Kenshin (1996) got screwed out of its Jinchu arc adaptation. The ova that adapted only a
flashback within that arc is sitting at an 8.71. Hell, even the 1996 anime got shafted and it is chilling at an 8.30.

As I don't know very much of source material of ln/manga, from the ones I've read I guess Bleach would be higher if the studio wouldn't put so many fillers in anime adaptation. Can't say how the rating would look like, but surely it would be higher and it wouldn't be known for the most dropped anime.

Maybe classroom of the elite. IDK but source readers were crying a lot about bad adaptation and skipping lots of stuff from LN.

I mean, 1997 is already a masterpiece, but I wouldn't be opposed to it being even better.

My vote goes to Full Moon wo Sagashite. The original series is pretty great, but obviously flawed, and would greatly benefit from receiving the Brotherhood treatment.

This glorious signature image was created by @Mayumi!

I am the Arbiter of Absolute Truth, and here is my wisdom:

"Anime was always influenced by the West. This is not news.
Shoujo is the superior genre primarily aimed at young people.
Harem/isekai are lazy genres that refuse any meaningful innovation.
There is no 'Golden Age.' There will always be top-shelf anime.
You should be watching Carole & Tuesday."

If S2 was anything to go by I would say OPM could be a disaster if the next seasons are similar quality or worse. The last few chapters have been really amazing and I would hate for them to be animated in the future like S2 was if they get to it.

Tsubasa Chronicles is an amazing manga and the only long shounen manga I've completed and it was later The later [arts of the manga were too dark to show on that TV channel so the anime actually got canceled (not like it was a good adaptation anyway)

None. People will find another excuse to rate it lower. Other things are more important.
All weebs creatures of the galaxy, hear this message. Those of you who listen will not be struck by western animation. You will no longer know hunger, nor pain. Your Anime have come to lead you now. Our strength shall serve as a luminous sun toward which all intelligence may blossom. And the impervious shelter beneath which you will prosper. However, for those who refuse our offer and cling to their western animation ways… For you, there will be great wrath.

Kare Kano would have been a near flawless masterpiece if they had actually adapted the whole thing. Those last couple of episodes are such a tragedy.

The manga and anime have almost the same rating. Even though I personally hate the anime, I don't believe a faithful adaptation would have any higher a score.

Mahou Sensei Negima + UQ Holder

They never adapted the battles - which are way above overpraised stuff like the ones from Black Clover, Seven Deadly Sins ect.

Eh that's a bit extreme ain't it. Like I'd imagine if The Promised Neverland Season 2 followed the manga faithfully, pretty sure it's not going to be that hated.

Lovely Complex

Detective Conan, it falls off hard. The manga is still good though.

Emma: A Victorian Romance, solid anime but the manga takes the social class difference a lot more seriously- I was honestly impressed when I read it.

I sometimes question the possibility of if Gakkougurashi could have been better, idk, if maybe the order of the manga hadn't been switched up

Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, literally all they needed to do was adapt the ending and it wouldv'e been a masterpiece. The anime was legit setting everything up but it didn't happen.

History's strongest Disciple Kenichi

Slayers

Tezuka Osamu's Buddha

Trigun because after seeing the new trailer, yeesh

Daddy Long Legs, everything about it is good except the weird quailty change and the fact they made the main couple have a kinda creepy, like, 20 year gap

I would also say Black Jack, idk maybe I'm just too critical I just don't think any of the anime get across what is so special about the manga

Arifureta,
seriously the studio butchered the adaptation by cutting off so many story in the beginning that it made no sense, as well as using some 3D CGI for monsters which makes it looks cheap.

If only the anime were faithful to its source and it had Engage Kiss level of animation at least, pretty sure it wouldnt turn off many people.

Kuroshitsuji. Even if the "Book of" series brought a bit of salvation, those first two seasons tend to drive people away without even giving the manga a chance.

Also Gokushufudo if it was done like a proper anime.

it was quite mid, they skipped a lot of stuff(like griffith's dream in the eclipse which was arguably one of the best moments), the eclipse sequence was horrible, finished in like 2-3 eps.
the psychological aspect felt reduced to nothingness.

I recommend telling people to start with Book of Circus if you think that is a real concern. That only works for new fans, naturally, and not those who have already been driven away.
Rozen Maiden is in a similar situation; I would never have read the manga if I had not given the 2013 anime a chance.
