I actually understand exactly what you are talking about. Not only I did feel like that about the guys I was in love with in real life (maybe because it was one-sided love), but I actually feel like that about my most favorite characters as well. I look at them often and think "do I really want to do naughty things to these guys?" :p
Yeah, same! I often inadvertently think "oh, but this guy is in a relationship with someone else", so I feel strangely guilty about thirsting after him lol And it's exactly like you describe: the more my heart goes out to that character and the more I adore him, the less I want to actually sexualize him. It doesn't stop me completely, but my preferences slowly shift from sexualizing to wanting to give those characters hugs and pat them on the head :p it's situational, but especially true for cute and kind-hearted guys. My favorite type!

I love Mafuyu from Given, he's also one of my favorite anime boys, but I want to hug him instead of sexualizing him lol or someone like Shinji from NGE. What sexualizing?! I want to give him lots of hugs and professional help! lol

Oh, you even know them! That's cool :3 I love Clear's route, and Dramatical Murder is one of my favorite pieces of media of all time. It's far from perfect, but it's very special to me. It took me ~6 months to come to my senses after finishing it and its sequel! Can you imagine living for 6 months with the incredible and all-encompassing aftereffects of a single piece of media? Like a weird, dazed state. It's just crazy, nothing else in my life had such an impact on me.
I certainly get what you mean since my favorite thing about all the Nitro+Chiral VNs is their atmosphere and their overall vibe. Regardless of how much I end up liking them, they somehow still leave a big impact and stay with me forever.
Full Service was somewhat disappointing, I'm pretty sure they didn't finish it in a way they envisioned, but I still enjoyed it quite a bit :) and yeah, there is almost no plot there, but it usually doesn't bother me. If I can enjoy something for what it is, then it can have no plot whatsoever for all I care.
