 A TV anime adaptation of manga Magi: Sinbad no Bouken has officially been announced via its official website. The announcement was made after today's special airing of Magi. According to the announcement, the staff and cast from the OVA will be reprising their original roles for the TV series. It will broadcast in Spring 2016 and premiere on MBS' "Animeism" block.The series, which is a prequel to Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic, is written by Shinobu Ohtaka and illustrated by Yoshifumi Ohtera. The manga was adapted into a 5-episode OVA produced by Lay-duce between 2014 and 2015, with each episode being bundled with various volumes of the manga. | Sooo...it's an anime of something that already has come out in OVA form? Not that i'm complaining btw, i love me some Magi, but now the OVAs seem pretty redundant lol. Like, what was the point in them (besides advertising, i guess?) if it was going to come out in anime form. Either way, i'll be watching it though :3 |

| A-1 announced Nanatsu no Taizai "New Anime" (most likely a season 2) only after 6 months. But still no word on a Magi season 3? I guess it's because Magi doesn't sell how it used to. | So an alternative version to the OVAs huh...that really kills the purpose of the OVAs, but then again those OVAs are just baits for people to get the manga I assume. Anyway, hope it's a nice expansion to the OVAs instead of some summary style to the OVAs. If A-1 is not doing it, then that means the art style and animation might be different. |

Taizai was a huge success for them. I just think it's pretty obvious that they aren't announcing a Magi season 3, since the manga sells has dropped recently and the poorly received 'Alma Toran' arc, which makes me upset. But whatever... I love Taizai and Magi equally, so at least they're giving one series I love some attention. |

At least it's some Magi before season 3, and to be honest even tho I liked the OVAs, they skipped Sinbad's father story in the beginning and changed stuff, so I really hope this'll be a good adaption. If it gets popular they'll snatch up the rights to it, if its an anime original the staff has to be comprised of people that have delivered hits recently. |
| Just give me S3 damn it. I guess we won't have it now because A-1 is making Nanatsu S2 for 2016. I can always hope for 2017. The spin off is fine. I do not get they hype of it since I enjoy the main series more. Anyways, Drakon and Ja'far will make it for me. |

So, if my calculations are correct they currently have enough material to make 19-20 episodes if they start from the beginning. A 25 episode series would start in early April and finish in late September, they would probably have enough material then to make the whole 25 episodes. |

| Well this was quite a surprise. I've heard the OVA's skipped a part from the manga and only adapted Sinbad capturing two dungeons so I've put watching the OVA's for later. Now there's news it will get an anime adaptation!!!! I myself am really excited for this, I really enjoy the manga. Plus this will distract me for a bit while waiting for a Magi S3.
