THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
That is one hell of a car. Flying in Harry Potter style

Probably the most action filled episode and as for the finale, it was pretty damn funny at how they try to escape this guy:

Banana peel though?
Ha. And anyways, the episode bought the reunion between Kuromine and Youko again. I thought the finale felt rushed but still had some nice humor. Overall, 7/10. Started off kinda rocky but the show got better as time went on.

And it ended. Shame that wasn't popular but it's understandable.

Read the manga because it's funnier and has actual romantic development (with kissing, dates and handholding). There is also plot with
and his friends have their love interests too.

Mod Note: spoiler added on major plot point for manga and season two if it happens.

Loved the part with the banana peel and when the car was totaled xD

That final was good, but there was no confession which is disappointing cause i don't really except a season 2 here for some reason. No conclusion therefore.

7/10 at the end.

After seeing this, I definitely am going to read the manga now

Anyway, the finale was pretty fun and had some good laughs which is the norm for.this series....I really really like Youko's parents too btw so I enjoyed everything relating to them

7/10 overall for me....I would have given this series an 8 if we had only gotten that confession but oh well....That little scene that our main duo had before Kuromine almost lost his memory was really cute though :'')

So, did Youko's dad really lose his memories? I doubt that hammer hit him hard enough when it flew from Asahi's head. Well, he was a fun character either ways.

Pretty much all the girls were likable (even Mikan to a certain extent), but Aizawa Nagisa best girl, at least anime-wise. Haven't read the manga yet, so someone else might be up for the spot.

Overall, an enjoyable show but romantic progression was lacking. Comedic moments were mostly great though. Also, the ending song is one of the best of this season.

Really good adaptation. Loved it. Characters, animation, VAs were great. Enjoyed the ride. Shiragami's Dad was epic.

Solid 8/10.
initially wanted to give a 7, but the show got better later on, and the OP, ED and insert songs were all fantastic, so i had to give it 1 more ;)

Would've loved to see more of Shirou, but Shiho is fine xD

and Akane is best girl/demon/old hag!

Totally agree, the manga is really great. They managed to put some great bits of it in the anime, I was kind of expecting an anime-original ending, but ok.

Good finale, though leaving it open like that when the chances of a second season are pretty low is a bit annoying.

The animation, VA and humor was all spot on though, great stuff :)

This series was far better from what I expected it to be.

This show was pretty nice. Just a standard fantasy rom-com with likable characters

7/10 wouldn't mind a season 2 though sadly I find that's unlikely :/

As this is a harem .. I am ok with the open ending and I started reading the manga too.
Well they adapted the manga in a way to make it a plausible end but yeah it was hell of a ride :D
Best comedy of the season I guess :v

I KNEW the giant bat was her dad! :D How in the hell is he so old and huge while being normal height and age when going to school with his future wife? They certainly aged differently! :D Don't think about it too much I guess huh? :D He sounded like Tora too. :D

Well all's well that ends well for this charming little series. Good characters, designs, art style, humor(loved the banana peel bit this week btw), romance, most everything really. All it needed was a more definitive conclusion, but you could probably guess that already anyway. Would love a second season. 8/10

Nice and entertaining anime. Enjoyable comedy, though grows old if you watch several episodes after each other. The facial expression though, those were nice. Good variety in the characters, though what I found a drawback was the fact that it didn't really explore the characters backgrounds.

Kinda liked the opening, it had a catchy tune to it.

Overall 7/10 I'd say.

The ending was okay. The whole anime was okay. Some funny moments, some stupid actions, the plot was cliche and predictable but it didn't bother me that much. Characters were okay, I liked the colorful graphics and all. Music nice, I liked the opening.
Well, anyway, I will probably forget about this anime in a month or so.

How did Youko's dad turn out so big when he was clearly a twig of a person in the flashback? Oh, and of course the confession would just get interrupted like that. Still, this series was great simply because it was so damn funny most of the time. I'm seriously excited for the UK release of the manga now; I can't wait.

Dat Akari furious face when she was in denial that her car got turned into a lump of iron was awesome XD

Fun series but so many great comedy chaps skipped and will probably never be adapted since this barely sold. Also Mikan screen time was way too little for people to know her greatness :(

And so ends Shingeki no Shiragami Otousan.

Just another typical gag romcom that went nowhere.
It's average at best and airing during the same season as Darkness 2 and MonMusu made it look even worse...

I kind of hate this show and I found the characters to be extremely annoying.

It started alright but almost everything revolves around them shouting stupidly at each other.
Basically it's half-assed all the way; the comedy, romance, fanservice, the serious moments... it didn't excel in any one of these areas for me. Blah.
Dunno why I expected it to though, I guess the different visuals led me to believe that this could at least something special.

The genderbent wolf was kind of interesting but they threw that away quickly in favor of permanently adding another pair of tits into the mix.

Well that was kind of a letdown.

Seeing as how the manga is one of my favorites, this adaptation was more than disappointing.

They should've introduced Youko's parents in the middle of the season. They kept the talking glasses gag, but left out a bunch of other funny ones that chronologically happen earlier than that.

The stuff they adapted correctly from the manga was funny as hell so kudos for that. But all of the changes and skipping around really put a damper on the enjoyment for me.

I kind of want to see a season 2, because then they would be forced to introduce the rest of the characters and the other gags and stuff, but the other half of me wants this put to rest. It's been butchered enough and doesn't need to be desecrated further by a second season.

You don't always have to go straight from the source material to do a good job. Gakkou Gurashi is a perfect example of that. You can twist and change things and still make it as good or better.

But when you either 1. change it and make it not as good, or 2. divert from source material that was perfect as-is, then it fails. So sadly this joins Tokyo Ghoul and Akame ga Kill as manga I read that had a failed adaptation.

Well, at least it could've been way worse. 6/10

How did the guy got so big? I thought he was Youko's grandfather at first lol..

I'm gonna miss Youko's accent & Aizawa's "high-tech" tools XD

I'll start reading the manga but I still want a 2nd season too. Given that they apparently didn't rush or made up an absurd anime original ending, there's a chance that they purposely left things open should they ever want to make another season. A rom-com that's actually romantic is quite rare (Denki-gai no Honya-san comes to mind). Most of them were too focused on the harem they forgot to develop the most important relationships (I think Monmusu or even To Love-Ru suffered from this). At least this one never wavered too much from the OTP and the potential heartbreak for the other girls actually made me sympathize with them (even someone like Mikan).
