 The official site of HanaLaLa online revealed that a sequel to manga Fruits Basket, titled Fruits Basket another, will begin serializing on September 4.The new series will take place in the same setting, Kaibara High School. It will feature a new female protagonist named Sawa who enrolls at the school. Fruits Basket is a shoujo manga written and illustrated by Natsuki Takaya. Serialized in Hana to Yume magazine and published by Hakusensha, the series ran for 136 chapters from July 18, 1998 to November 20, 2006. | Meh. Basically a rehash. I like it when a mangaka can write different type of stories and not just what they are use to writing. A good example would be the author of fma she made a action series and now she's going a slice of life style for her new series. Variety, that's what a lot of mangaka are lacking. |

| I have mixed feelings about this :/. Is Takaya just desperate for something right now, or what? If it's still going to be a romance, Momiji's probably the best bet for the new girl. Either way, I don't think this is necessary. Now this could mean that the original manga will get rescued over here and the sequel could get published out here as well, so... there's that? As well as a possible anime reboot, even though that would mean Takaya will have to be involved as well, and she's reportedly a control freak, so... |
