Meh. Basically a rehash. I like it when a mangaka can write different type of stories and not just what they are use to writing. A good example would be the author of fma she made a action series and now she's going a slice of life style for her new series. Variety, that's what a lot of mangaka are lacking.

New female lead? I don't know how to feel about that, but the fact that it's getting a sequel is a surprise.

Why bother making a sequel if it's just going to focus on new characters?

I'm still reading it though.

Mmm I don't know how to feel about this.
Fruits Basket is absolutely one of my favorite manga, but... a new protagonist?

Well, in Takaya-sensei I trust.

Edit: well, I read somewhere else it's just going to be a commemorative 2-3 volumes series... then it's good.

You are saying this based on what? most the mangaka that have more than one successful work have different manga.

just from the mangaka of fruits basket:

Surprised too. I'm excited but will try not to be too hype for it. Too much expectation can ruin a good thing. Man I can still remember absolutely loving the original back in high school. Lord I feel old.

I have mixed feelings about this :/. Is Takaya just desperate for something right now, or what? If it's still going to be a romance, Momiji's probably the best bet for the new girl.

Either way, I don't think this is necessary. Now this could mean that the original manga will get rescued over here and the sequel could get published out here as well, so... there's that? As well as a possible anime reboot, even though that would mean Takaya will have to be involved as well, and she's reportedly a control freak, so...
