| Bumping this post from a long while back, as an anime adaptation is being made of it currently. Because currently, the adaptation section is a mess and could be revised if this process was taken. Nearly all manga tankobon volumes have individual titles so it does not stand correct to separate each individual volume into multiple entries when they are all published under the same series title. Since several of these are one-shots and standalone short series, the more info page could have appropriate chapter and volume publication information from prior entries. Jerkhov said: Merge all of Ito Junji Kyoufu Manga Collection into one series http://myanimelist.net/people/2410/Junji_Ito 14 volumes, 81 chapters. Published Nov 1988 to Jan 1999. The chapter/volume count would technically be 16 volumes and 90 chapters if using the full Kyoufu Manga Collection list, but MAL already has Tomie listed as its own entry which I believe to be appropriate due to it also including Tomie Again (a volume not part of the collection series), so instead the entry would began at volume three. |

| in response to @svaax on the mangadb changelog thread Juuni Taisen (108392) (110100) (106970) - not a light novel I previously posted reasons on that thread but was not aware users could not post there, so I will repeat myself. It was originally published as a standard novel, which would make it invalid as stated, however it was republished by Shueisha under their Jump j Books imprint which is a light novel imprint and many of their novels are on the MAL DB. There have been several instances of standard novel or web novel republications into light novels, such as Gate: Jieitai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri and Fate/Zero. As such, the novel entry of Juuni Taisen should be reconsidered. |

| Hi! MAL seems to have a problem with the Pokemon SPECIAL manga. For those who might not know, it's a freakin long manga which is divided into 14 arcs. Here on MAL is this manga entry with the picture of the very first volume of the Pokemon Special manga and with the "Publishing" status. But then we have this, this, this and this. Apart from the Yellow arc having a duplicate entry, those are all arcs of the manga in the first link I posted. It just seems that MAL can't decide if it wants to keep those arcs under one manga (which is actually how it should be, because for example the first Yu-Gi-Oh manga is also here as just a one entry, not three) or if it wants to have one entry for each arc. If it's the later... there are 14 arcs and the first arc (the first link) shouldn't be listed as "publishing". (I hope that I didn't sound too confusing... :'D) |

I am not familiar with the specifics of JoJo, but if it has been split to correspond with English publisher marketing decisions I would also say this was in error. I can pick up volume 24 in English and start reading chapter 285, or go to Japan and open volume 50 at chapter 511. To have the entry on MAL state anything but is simply inaccurate and incorrect. From that logic any manga with an in universe time skip should be split into separate entries, as should the Bount arc of the Bleach anime should have its own entry for example. We should have the entry be as the creator intended, and as it is released in Japan. Also, to get off my high horse for a moment, there is also the fact that seemingly no one uses the separated entries anyway as all but one seem to have no users at all. |
