Synopsis

Since no one else at her agency is capable of the task, 16-year-old idol Julia Tachibana is assigned to mentor 15-year-old newcomer Ran Asakawa. While she downright refuses at first, Julia has a change of heart after meeting the girl in question—becoming immediately attached to her.

As she often finds herself trying to impress Ran, Julia quickly comes to realize that she has feelings for her. She should find this conflicting, as the pursuit of a relationship between two girls could cause a scandal that would ruin her career—but she does not seem to care. In fact, she sees getting closer to Ran as more important than being successful!

Strawberry Shake Sweet is a shining example of just how well romance comedy can be done. It features probably the best and funniest character I have seen in manga to date. The real shame is that almost nobody knows about this great series. The subject matter of SSS is yuri. The cast is completely full of lesbian characters and I don’t even remember one male character at all. If these themes are offensive to you then this is not your book. But even if you don’t normally read yuri stories, you are doing yourself as great disservice by not checking this one out if you ...

Daydreaming, feeling happy, acting stupid just because "that" person is there. Doesn't being in love feel the same, regardless the gender? Just as tragic yuri stories became getting on my nerves, I found this one.

Being girls doesn't seem to get in the way of anyone except of Julia's manager, who tends to smack Julia on the head whenever doing something stupid. Getting mushy on some small parts, but mostly being purely a comedy, this is a manga about that awkward, cute love story between "an incompetent and an airhead", called that multiple times.

The art was nice, a little bit old-fashioned though, with big eyes and ...

Guys this is such a good shoujo ai girls love story between two idols and it’s very nice to realise that it’s by the author of “Onegai Teacher”. It really had an interesting storyline between the two girls and it makes you want to read more. Now I will say that there were gaps e.g. the side characters involved within the story (the hot tempered manager x her flirty former classmate as well as the other couple who really appeared out of nowhere), I just felt that they were just added there without context which is a shame because I really wanted to see ...
