It's more akin to takamagahara, it's somewhere kami etc reside. Perhaps the location is something equivalent to "rural" there, as in not where ones like Amaterasu would reside, but a place for lesser kami.

probably my favorite episode of the show yet, I love how it all came full circle and connected in the end.. it's giving me a weird feeling in my heart lol

this episode almost felt like a movie but crammed into 23 minutes XD i mean this in a good way tho, it was very well done and left me feeling quite happy and a little sad too. almost melancholic I guess.

also, when I first saw Saito, both his appearance (blond hair with brown tints on the sides) and the way he acted, I just got a vibe that he was very puppy/dog like... so the fact that he actually ended up being a dog in the real world had me literally shitting myself no joke XD either I'm too furry for my own good, or the writing in this episode was really well done. either way I'm happy

and just a side note, i like to think the girl from the beginning and her classmate who found her fall in love and get married one day <3 just a thought XD

I see, nice to know, thanks for telling me^^

Seems that this anime kinda needs some Japanese knowledge to fully understand what's going on.

Wow.

It'd be a disservice to call Konohana Kitan a "Cute Girls Doing Cute Things" anime. Superlative writing.

So warm & fuzzy when storyteller daughter nearly drowned, step dad in coma & Kaito the guide dog for him are all related and found their purpose to keep living. It's like a double sided isekai with Yuzu the perfect spiritual guide.
I was surprised Kaito grew so fast, thought it's a alt world on a faster timeline, turns out he's living in dog years. I like this idea, seeing & thinking from the pov of a dog.

Is the hotel purgatory?

When I found out the boy was chosen to be a seeing eye puppy I legitimately let out a "ho-ly-f-bomb!" I did not see that coming, but it made PERFECT sense in my mind.

He came back as a teen and I was like "wtf? New family?" Then boom.

In a world where I can see twists before the movie is even in theaters this was awesome and really solidified my love for the series.

And I'm a 30 year old male who can't get his wife to watch it.

Wow, this episode was incredible. I actually cried. Before, I thought this was just a solid 6/10 series but I might raise my score to a 7 just for this episode.

I admit, I found the scene with the boy really weird when one guy come to take him back in a truck, but, yeah, it makes sense because he is a dog (and also the fact he aged really fast).

I'm so stupid, I did not realize the first girl tried to kill herself, even though I knew the signification of the shoes (but I was thinking it was an elaborate "joke" at the time...). Glad to see she decided to live and made a picture book of her meeting with Yuzu (but YUZU IS 100x cuter than the fox of the book, but I guess, mankind is not ready for Yuzu :) ).

So did they just confirm that the world Yuzu is in is some kind of different dimension where spirits can pass through after death or near death experiences? That's what the old man pretty much said.

I admire how they connected everything in such a heartwarming story.
This episode totally caught me out of guard.

I'm not sure that telling the girl who has no friends because she's always lying basically to keep lying was a great idea. Though I guess she did find one girl who appreciates her "stories".

"Your mom and dad did a great job. Now say goodbye to them." What the fuck? This show threw me for a goddamn loop with the rich kid...who was actually a dog. I am still curious as to how humans get to Konohanatei...apparently, you can just wander in, or end up there after an accident?

This series is really good! So basically Yuzu's world is like the border between the life and the dead where youkai's and spirits living, what a nice worldbuilding.

It kind of reminds me on a lore that the dead has about 49 days of being judged on their karma on Buddhism. It ties well with that.'

Gotta love the Saberfox a.k.a Kiri kek

That was a very good episode. Both stories blended smoothly imo abd overall very touching.
Matsumoto hilarious when she pulled Yuzu’s tail and the kid as well when he pulled Sakura’s tail. He even comes back to pick up Yuzu in such an adorable way before giving his final good bye.

Wow... best episode yet. We got world building, a better-than-average cast of episodic characters, and genuine surprise and intrigue regarding narrative development and conclusion. I'm guessing Konohanatei is a spiritual world existant between life and death.

I really liked this episode, much more than the previous ones.

The lying girl was too strawman for me, but I love it when anime does a mash-up which tosses in a plot twist. Also found it cute when they say "in the palm of God's hand" and God turns out to be Buddha (?) who turns out to be the wife! :D

I certainly didn't expect their world to have this kind of structure.

I liked the connection between the characters of the episode, but I felt like it was still all over the place. Once again the episode which doesn't deal with one of the main characters felt weaker than those ones.

Just finished the series and this is by far the best episode in my opinion, bumped the whole series up from a 7 to an 8 for me. Shame the episodes after 8 felt like a let down to me after how good this one was. Still a great series though, really enjoyed it!

This is the kind of story telling I was expecting from this series; not some over indulgence of forced yuri bullshit on other characters. Great job!

Truly an episode one can't hate. So much feelings, you can truly see how much the author put into this particular one. I mean, the rest are quite good too, but this one touched me in a way more special way. Also gotta love the plot twist at the end where we get to know that the entire episode is about the same family and that the little "spoiled kid" who should've been human turned out to be a puppy. Truly misled as he was even depicted as a human child in his own world only to finally be "transformed" into a dog at the last scene... Well, I did get a lot of weird vibes with how things didn't add up, what with the "chosen ones" and the little blonde kid in japan and the lanky dude who picked him up, it didn't make sense at all, but it wasn't supposed to.

I picked this anime for comedy, but ended up getting a show filled to the brim with different feelings and "life lessons", the comedy is barely there at all.

God damn alright show, you finally got me. This has been a pretty meh yuri bait show that tries to capture Mushishi vibes, but man this episode was well written. The twist at the end really tied everything together in an unexpected & wholesome way, but at the same time they have subtle hints like the back of his daughters head looking like the girl from the first part.

Not so fond of cheap tear-jerker content. But at least it supports my theory that this spirit world is like the afterworld or limbo between the world and heaven. But the second part was kinda a bit too much. Dogs don't have human thoughts and feelings. Many people may interpret certain behaviour as being human, but it's not. It's just an interpretation or easy explanantion that satisfies ones own ideas. But why are the dreaded trucks in anime that cause so much death and despair always the same built?

Thought it was interesting how the woman in the first part turned out to be the daughter of the guy from the second half of the episode.

The boy's story was also very touching, and I was caught completely off guard with him ending up being an assisting dog for someone blind, the same guy from the episode no less.

I’ll gladly admit, by the time the ending rolls around and we get to see the connection between all three of them, especially between the father and the boy, I cried like a son of a bitch.

There has been many good, strong episodes that has hit me in the feels up until now, but this one has definitely been my favorite by far so far!!

wow, another amazing episode.

So, it seems like our and their worlds are connected even more than I assumed earlier.

It was a nice twist to see the boy being a "good boy" xD (a dog)

So, the girl, the man, the dog are all connected.

The bigger twist would be if the author of this story is the liar-girl we see at the beginning. I mean, the girl may have lied a lot, but she had a great imagination, loved to draw and make up stories. Maybe she's the author's cameo???

I think I'll believe that this isn't just a coincidence. xD

So there are many worlds here.. Dead world.. World of Yuzu.. Some world of people, not necessary only them..
Well, we see dog later as well, so certainly not only people then..
Can't say I feel the greatest about how these serious stories are handled.. Things are just ending up as if in warming ways.. Is that what they suppose to look like?.. I don't know about that.. Feels as if general idea of everything will be alright, with some really questionable things being said by our mains.. I don't know about that..

Beautiful episode. And pretty light-hearted even though the daughter tried to drown herself and the father didn't want to wake up from his coma. It really shows that sometimes all you need is someone to help you accept what life throws at you, and that things might not be as bad or inescapable as they appear to be.

I loved the development of finding out that Kaito grew up to be a sight-seeing dog, to that father no less. Then again I've always been extremely weak against dogs. Call me simple but it brought me to (happy) tears

Here's to hoping next week's episode will be just as lovely!
@Hiina oh shit. I never made that connection with rei purposefully trying to drown herself..is there anything that supports that in the manga or something?? That's a dark spin for a show like this, there is certainly easier ways to go.
