| That was awesome. Ive been waiting ages for the fighting to get started like this Naruto was amazing. I love when he uses the demon fox and since this was a new level of harnessing that power I loved it even more. I really liked the animation in this episode. |

| This is by far one of the best motion picture masterpiece's i ever seen in anime PERIOD!! People complain so much bout still frames in action sequences, there was not a "SINGLE" still frame in this entire episode. Everything had movement, the water, the explosions, even ripples and splashes in the water, the combo's that naruto and sasuske fought with were so detailed and fluid. People that have been complaining bout action. Well HERE it is. This was by far the pinnacle battle of the series and the one that gained so much popularity in the early years of naruto. I don't know why people give this show such low ratings. If you can even name another shonen series with fluid action like that, just let me know. Don't even say bleach or one piece, because that doesn't even come close. When i first watched this when it was first aired, it was one of my greatest moments of action in anime history. |

| Lol'd @ animation. Other than that, great fight! And I was cheering for Naruto, hoping he would really beat Sasuke senseless (sry, Sasuke, I like you but you're acting so pathetic and need to be woken up). Sasuke was talking about how having and losing bonds make you suffer. I couldn't help to think: "Yeah, Sasuke if you know that, why do you then not cherish the bonds you have now?" Poor thing, is lost in his past and can't see what he got and could eventually lose. I pity him and yet am angry at him for being so weak in mind and didn't realize that he's about to make a mistake he shouldn't BECAUSE of his past. |

| LOL @ Sasuke's transformation! He looked like a girl! But besides that, great ep! I really love how the do action sequences in real-time in Naruto. I mean I know they slow it down some, but they're the only anime I've seen with that much rea- time action! Oh, and Naruto was freaking awesome in this ep btw!!! |

| I don't normally comment on old discussion threads, I just like to read them, but I can't help it this time as that fight was EXCELLENT, possibly my favourite so far (new watcher here)! The choreography, the animation, not to mention the advance in Naruto and Sasuke's special skills. Also, before Naruto's power increased, I found it really sad to watch Sasuke trying to kill Naruto, after the way Naruto feels towards him and everything they've been through. I'm glad Naruto's bounced back, and now Sasuke's gone to stage 2 things are really going to heat up! Oh, and Sasuke, the stage 2 lipstick doesn't suit you ;). Joke :P |

| Rewatched this single episode after having talked about it to a friend (who collected the whole manga but never watched clips of the TV series). Despite a few previous examples of great little scenes (Sasuke in the survival forest, Lee/Gaara...), I was still surprised by the 133th episode. Between the switch to excellent animation (for the action sequences), the direction of the fight and the sound direction (good sound effects, resonance, spare music), I was amazed to see this in a (very long and often lazy) TV series. One of the rare occasions I saw a TV animated fight that felt like a "fight" (martial arts might be a better term, but not sure it fits something so unrealistic) 5/5 Too bad it lasted a single episode long. To people passing by: ring me if you have the episode number of other examples. @CodeBlazeFate @FMmatron @AshitanoJonas Wondering about your own thoughts on this particular episode. shiroi-ookami said: Laughed at the animation. | @Rei366 I remember when I was a huge Naruto back then, this was among my favorite fights in the series. Despite the odd-looking characters, I really loved the unique animation and how unusually fluid it was. The only other fights that come to my mind, that look like this are Sasuke vs Orochimaru (back in the Chunin exam arc) and Orochimaru vs Sarutobi (which was also one of my faves). | I remember watching this episode in French though my French wasn't that great at the time. So it's nice to rewatch... while actually being able to fully understand the subtitles. lol I remember making a lot of AMVs off of this episode too. XD I was always fascinated though also tickled by the animation in this episode. I think I remember laughing my ass off at torpedo Naruto which is more of a visual thing, but they had some really nice animation going on in this episode. But also like jfc this is a rough episode too. Sasuke's legitimately trying to kill Naruto. This isn't just some friendly rivalry at this point, Sasuke's making a pretty strong decision here. This isn't some "I'll knock some sense into him" fight anymore, and I think a lot of this is Naruto realizing that. And ya know like a lot of this episode is actually kinda seen from Sasuke's perspective. I think that's hella important. In a lot of anime, it's all about the main character and what they want and everyone else's goals either don't exist or don't matter. This episode did a pretty good job of showing that this is what Sasuke wants and how far he's willing to go to keep with his goal. I think that's maybe one of the show's strong points. While not every character has a clear goal, many do and they don't just go for their goals willynilly. Not perfect, but good stuff. |

| Man, I'm glad I can say that despite this fight going for 7 episodes at no point did it felt dragged, granted, its mostly because a couple of episodes were flashbacks, but even the ones with actual action were very well paced. |
