| Jiro from MHA had the best design out of the female cast yet got even less screen time than the girl who is literally invisible. I really liked all her snark with Kaminari. Also all the royal selection characters in Re:Zero were much more interesting than Subaru and the witch cult stuff. |

| Some examples: Femt from Kekkai Sensen. He rarely appears in the series and the show would be perfectly fine without him (as evidenced in the second season, where he only appears at the beginning of the first episode and at the end of the last one), but he is such a funny and hilarious villain I can't help but to love him a lot. I hope that if a third season of the series is ever made, we could see him more. Kuniki from Plastic Neesan. He only appeared once in the anime, but his scene was one of the best scenes of the whole show.  He was amazing. Blair from Soul Eater, a character who was just an early antagonist and that, for the most part, didn't did anything of relevance (apart of giving the fanservice quota to the show), but that I liked anyway, she was cute and her design is cool, so it's all fine. Priscilla from Re:Zero, a character that I don't know if really counts for the criteria OP posted, since she will be relevant in the future, but that didn't do much in the material the series covered. Such a loveable bitch, and was second best girl after Crusch. Some of the Maniwa ninjas from Katanagatari, since, with exceptions, the whole clan only served as fodders to hype certain characters. For that, and because they were a bunch of fun villains, I ended liking them (and even feeling their deaths in some cases) at the end. Mina from Boku no Hero Academia, who has one of the best designs of the series and a nice personality, but is for the most part another supporting character of the A Class. I could list some examples more, but I think that's enough. |

Run's time to shine Run. It's Run. She got her screentime diminished greatly once Darkness rolled around and had one of the harshest losses from how that series shifted focus to Yami and Momo so heavily. She also had some of the best bits in Darkness during her few chapters she got, if you ask me. Let alone her characterization in the original series, which I also found to be absolutely endearing. She's really, really assertive, I'd argue the most assertive of the cast in the series - she's also a giant dork who probably couldn't take two steps without something going wrong for her, and also a bit of a secret bitch when it comes to a lot of things and that might be drowned out in favor of her more clingy and assertive aspects.  She's also really prone to jealousy, which I guess isn't a surprise considering how she approaches things like Rito. I find that really cute. Fuck you, Yabuki.  You can often see her making sorts of disgusted faces at other characters when they can't see her and generally she seems much less apt to wanting to get along with anybody else in the cast. This also bleeds through when it shows her inner thoughts (mostly in the manga tho) and even down to a few of her poses and expressions in her pictures you can sort of see where this would bleed through. She doesn't exactly feel in flattering ways about most of the non-Rito cast, particularly Lala for rather silly reasons. Things also tend to go pretty badly for her in general. Most things she tries to do tends to backfire on her horribly and leads to embarrassing situations for her or Rito or both. Think kind of, idk, Run would be Wile E. Coyote type when it comes to her schemes, at least that's how Dekn put it and I found it to be very apt. She tries, bless her soul, but things always go south and bad for her. Hell, even when she's not doing anything wrong the world just seems to shit on her and she ends up getting chased around by Rape principal before getting dumped in the Amazon Rainforest or something.  I find that really cute, how things tend to go wrong, but not in a sadistic way ._. Might seem weird, but I do find that really adorable about her. I want to go just pat her head or something or help her back up every time something goes wrong for her. She's also an idol, of course, or becomes one over the course of the series and I think that's a good thing for her. I find it funny how she actually seems to like the job and cares about her fans, even if the main reason she likes her job is primarily the attention and admiration of fans and still wants to use it as a tool to obtain Rito, but I would lowkey expect her to be the type that would just be like "ew you all disgust me go away" inside and still act cheery and sweet outside because, well, that's how she is. That'd make things rather busy, tho, and it led to giving Yabuki and excuse to diminish her screentime so he could put Yami in everywhere because she's his pet more or less, which I found kind of sad honestly, as much as I like that aspect of her character. Fuck you, Yabuki. Back pre-Darkness there was also the whole Ren thing, where she would sneeze and turn into a guy. That actually didn't do much for me - it was usually just to create awkward gags - bit it did in no way keep me from loving her as much as I do. Still would risk accidentally ending up inside of a guy or something if it came down to it. Everything about her is just oddly wonderful to me, I guess. Bitch in sheep's clothing to most, ultra-loving and caring to the few she actually doesn't get irritated with like Rito or her friend Kyoko, everything goes wrong often in embarrassing ways but it's all good, etc etc. I kind of feel like an actual relationship with her would be pretty confining and in general relegate someone to being part of a weird couple and little else when it comes to socialization with everybody around you, but also really loving and caring just between the two. Lots of high maintenance stuff, too, like being an idol or god knows what kind of weird shit goes on with Memorzian biology, I assume everything's fuckity just because of the whole gender swap thing that they have up until they become adults and it really does seem like if they wanted to a give a character just weird or creepy biology it'd be her. Which I'm fine with. The risk of looking gay in spite of being heterosexual because of the Ren/Run dichotomy didn't stop me from anything, something like her vagina probably having teeth won't stop anything either. Fuck you, Yabuki. Sad, though. 125-ish favorites last I looked, diminished screentime for a support character in the second series. She deserves better than that. She's definitely one that gets forgotten in favor of the more popular TLR girls like Momo or Yami but I find any other girl in any series period to be completely incomparable to her. Though it also kind of ends up inadvertently giving me a reputation of liking side girls a lot, even if you just look at my admin card:  Fuck you, Yabuki. | My favorite character is Kiyotaka Ishimaru, a supporting character in Danganronpa who doesn't have many focus, specially in the anime. But I wouldn't count him because he's really popular in the game's fanbase. A character I loved before but is really just an extra is Ponzu from Hunter x Hunter. I don't really know why but I instantly fell in love with her, even though she only has three different appearences, one of them being a literal background character. Another example would be Yukine Miyazawa from Clannad. She isn't very important but I find her to be a much better character than most of the cast. She has the same ammount of appearences as some of the main characters but still isn't so relevant. Oh, and Yoko from TTGL is underrated! I have found few people who really like her. |
