| "It responds to male spirit" Lolwhat? I didn't care for the abrupt change in tone at the end. This show seems so nonsensical that I'll likely have a hard time taking any of the drama seriously. The nonsensical parts in and of themselves are pretty fun, though. Decent episode. |

| Wow, he pretty much obliterated that mech instantly after getting into it, that's unfortunate, it looked cool. I like his move naming idea, though. And wooow, found his father huh? Not in the way he hoped. |

| Great episode indeed. That spinning move attack with the Lagann was pretty sweet, obliterated all the Mechas. The dad part was sad, Kamina wanted to see his dad again, but not like this. |

| Another good battle, and consistently funny. Leron makes me uncomfortable but he(she)s hilarious. I have a feeling that isn't actually his dad's body that Kamina found, and seeing Simon go crazy after realizing those gunmen were the reason his parent's died was pretty epic. Kamina hitting the mech with the gun was hilarious. And now we know where the name of the show comes from! |
| Great episode. If this keeps a amount up it's definitely going to be in my favorites. That ending was sad. Feel bad for Kamina. Nice to see where the title of the show comes from. That's awesome. |
| Yoko's quite cute! We've only been introduced to a few characters so far...I'm dreading for many others. That last scene was quite sad, it didn't hit me the first time the skull was there, damn. |

| Aw man, that sucks :( I was looking forward to Kamina meeting his badass dad towards the end of the series kind of like in HunterXHunter. Shame he died :( I hope he took up the bracelet and cape though to keep it safe for his father. |

| I can't wait to see more of Yoko's lightning gun. And her lovely body, of course~ Kamina hijacked a gunman. I like his style. The Combustive Passion of Brotherhood Cannonball Attack left me in amazement. Those monkeys had it coming. That plot twist...of all the skeletons he had to crash on, it had to be his dad. Stay strong, aniki. Stay strong :'( |

| Pretty decent episode. Yoko is my favourite character so far but nothing has really bought in that 10/10 "wow" factor quite like Madoka Magica and Steins;Gate has.. So far it's an 8 though and I will carry on hoping to see the greatness that other people have. |

| Had a feeling when Kamina went totally ballistic and managed to control the Gunmen the skull could've been his father's. Maybe just maybe someone else has the same bracelet or he gave it to someone else, who knows. |

| And that is how we get Gurren Legann as part of the title. Kamina was very cool in this episode, I was laughing at the names he was giving the attacks. Seems that Simon is now got the confidence in himself and will be able to fight from now on. |

| Quite ironic that Kamina was mocking the corpse and telling that real men don't die at such a place and in the end it turns out that it was the skull of his very own father. Provided that it was actually his father, but somehow I still have some doubts. |

| anime is fun, visuals are cool, but it's not as exciting as kill la kill or FLCL was to me. anyway, i'm enjoying it. funny how people say yoko isn't your typical fan service girl. dude, she may have a personality - thank god - but she's the fan service part. i always think about how girls that are supposed to run and fight get dressed like that. it's so impractical to have your boobs hanging out front like that with only that bikini top. my boobs are maybe a third the size of hers and it's already impractical to me to run in a bikini top... |

| So, this started of reaaally nice. A simple concept of a story: mankind is mostly extinct, so they're living under the earth now, not even knowing that there's a surface. One day a young 'digger' called Simon accidentaly awakes a 'gunmen'. Luckily, there's another, empty one right next to it and he managed to control it. He and his friend Kamina defeated the gunmen together with the hot girl Yoko. Not captured underneath the surface of the earth anymore, they're trying to survive... I'm currently really into this and excited to see the next episodes!  |

| ok this show is seriously good. The first episode was already promising, but I was not 100% sure if I could once again LOVE a Mecha show. The only real mecha's I watched are Code Geass and Evangelion. I loved Geass and I didn't like Evangelion but still, the mecha scenes in Evangelion were epic. I guess after watching these 2 episodes I can call myself a fan of mecha? Sounds extremely weird to me. But I think if done right with exceptional animation, mecha can be very fun to watch. Speaking about Animation.. This show has been an absolute sakuga beast so far. I love it. This project screams passion all over it in the first 2 episodes. And I'm confident that it will continue like this. I freaking love the character chemistry between Simon and Kamina. The highly optimistic, heroic, and courageous big bro Kamina and the little Simon with little self esteem and no confidence what so ever. They are so good combined. We already had plenty of drama in this episode. Simon learning the truth about the earthquakes that killed his parents, and Kamina crying for his ?dead? father. Who knows if he's really dead. Could be but I'm not sure. This episode definitely got me hooked on this journey! This anime has binge potential! |

| Those are some wild attack names. It was a thrill seeing the "Perfect Combustion of Manly Souls Cannonball Attack!" again with the Gurren coming back round without the beastmen seeing. Manly tears were shed at the end. |

| Nice episode. I was thinking that the guy in that spaceship was Kamina's father but it turns out his father is dead? Or maybe that's what they want us to think (?) The animation in this episode was amazing. Kamina's Gurren and Simon's Lagann <3 can't wait to see how the story progresses. 4/5 |
