A change of pace with this episode.
Got to see Mob question himself in this episode that gave him development. He's continually changing throughout the show.
A great episode. The segment of the family was amazing

Decent, not much in plot but slight development for Mob is always nice.

One thing I want to add is that, the characterization really makes people NOT want to watch Mob explode. I remember during the first season everybody is like "Would Mob explode next ep?" "Cmon why hasn't he exploded already?"

But these contemplative episodes really adds consequence onto that explosion. As we come to understand Mob as a person, we subconsciously fear losing that person whom we know and love. ONE is really a genius at creating endearing and at the same time incredibly complex characters.

You're right. This subconscious fear for Mob really makes the show feel different from most Shonen.

Another perfect episode!
never seen this serious Reigen!
And Mob has a lot of going-on his mind! This is really an upcoming high character development for him! 5/5!

You can't be serious. This episode is massively significant.

Some of the comments here really do blow my mind in the worst way possible.

This. It sucks that we're in season 2 and there are people who still don't understand Mob's emotional development IS the story.

That's just how it felt. I still enjoyed it and thank the Gods for Mob Psycho, one of the few truly worthwhile animes out there. However, the character development presented in this episode didn't really surprise me much, so in the end it was a rather unsatisfactory episode overall. *shrug* Sadly I'm not really impressed by animes anymore - while the delivery method certainly reinforces the messages they send in some ways, the pacing and a few other aspects I can't quite put my finger on ruin the experience for me. Why am I even explaining myself so much? Point is, I get where you're coming from, I just didn't feel the same way :) I DO understand what the story is, so I apologize if it seemed like I didn't appreciate it... I do, but I'm not all that impressed with it is all.

Part 1: some creep wants someone cursed. Reigen plays along to get rid of him, which seems wrong to Mob.

Part 2: a perv uses his power to spy on a woman. the woman is no longer scared when she finds out it was just a perv and not a spirit. Mob is confused about why that would make a difference.

Part 3: a bully threatens Mob. Mob's friends stop the bully, and tell Mob he should have fought back.

Part 4: some bratty kids want a ghost family exorcised, even though that family just wants to live in peace. Reigen and Ekubo don't see the problem, though Reigen eventually tells Mob it's OK not to do it.

Ending: Mob tries to make sense of it all. Will he always do the right thing? Will he always make the right distinction between spirits and humans? Will anyone be there to give him the right advice?

This is the type of episode that defines an outstanding series.

Wow, this is such a good summary of the episode. I tried to make sense of it all, since it all seemed so disconnected to me at first, but put succinctly like that it makes perfect sense.

The stripping part was hilarious, especially when that guy was crushed xD

Mob is really acting in a weird way, i think it's a natural process of him growing? Or maybe it's something else? After what he had with that girl, maybe it's affecting him?
Reigen was really cool in this episode, he acted in the best way possible and i never thought that he would care about Mob's feelings.

I'm really happy this season is humanizing Mob more. While how he has changed so far may seem insignificant to some, it paving the way for great development and growth in his character. Starting to consider his feelings more, and having a conflict such as the family of spirits, will build on top of further experiences before the metamorphosis of his character is finally complete, leaving a satisfying result that doesn't feel sudden or rushed.

At least this is what I think is happening, I haven't read the manga so my knowledge extends only to what's been adapted so far.

I think Mob is in a really defining point in his life during this (and probably the next few) episode(s). There is a lot of peer pressure by the people he cares about to be violent, but this peer pressure is presented not only as good but also as coming from a place of love. This isn't typical "you'll be cool if you do X." This more like "everybody who loves me wants me to do X because it's good for me (or others), but I morally disagree with it, so who is really right in this case?"

How Mob moves forward from here will define who he is as a person and his core values for the rest of his life. It's good that his mentor actually realized the situation AND that he was part of the issue before Mob made that defining decision this episode. Of course, this issue isn't going to just disappear. Mob's loved ones are going to keep encouraging him to fight, to use his powers, and to do his side work all in the name of what is "good." Mob is in such a unique situation compared to most of his friends and family that simple black-or-white choices are completely grey for him. Can a teenager really weigh the value of one person over another? Of one soul over another? It's easy if a person or spirit is causing clear harm, but what about when nobody is in the wrong? Even grown adults who are secure with themselves would struggle with that.

I stopped reading the manga when I heard season 2 was approved, so I don't know what goes on from here. I'm really excited to see the situation Mob is put in and what his decisions ultimately are.

I knew Reigen would trick the clients into thinking the exorcism was done. Poor Mob starting to notice the unfair treatment of all spirits as evil and the blind exorcism of them all without letting them move on peacefully.

A guy came to the office with the intention to put a curse over someone, Reigen made a false curse to get rid of him. A woman called them, she had a spirit in the window that sometimes spies her, Mob used his powers to recognize the spirit as someone alive, using astral travel. Three young people asked them to accompany them to take a photo in an old house, nothing happened. A bully tried to intimidate Mob; Ekubo, Ritsu and Tenga intervened. The same three young people asked them to excorcise a ghost in their photo, Mob realized that more than demons they are good spirits, Reigen helped him get out of the situation without hurting them.

Mob is thinking more about if is good or bad to use his powers. Surely, this thoughts are needed. It's surprising that he is not using his powers to defend oneself, but uses it to beat spirits, in this case, he is thinking about if all he has been doing is ok, or he had commited mistakes. Such a deep thought.

It's nice to see Mob more thinking about what he's doing. I mean he is used to exorcise bad ghosts and curses, but in this case he had to decide what he wants to do. Oh boy Reigen got pretty pissed by the clients. So the character developement for Mob goes on.

I have to admit when Dimple tried to provoke the ghost it got pretty creepy, especially his face :o

But who the heck cursed Reigen? What that really that older guy from the beginning?

I love the development both Mob and Reigen are starting to go through. Also the idea that humans and spirits were of equal value was super interesting. Although, I didn't really find the episode too funny and the scenarios with the haunted house felt kind of forced.

Reigen's website might be gaining traction but the troublesome requests definitely seem to stand out more than the better ones. It might've been a short scene but that part where Mob was being protected by all his friends when he was getting mugged was really heartwarming!

That last exorcism was supposed to be just like any other one he had done before but being faced with the dilemma of having to choose between the whims of his Master's customers and sparing a family of ghosts that only wanted to spend their final moments together put a huge toll on his psychological state. It was such a stressful situation for him that I can feel how emotionally devastated he must be to see the father begging for his family's sake even though Dimple egged him on to kill those nasty clients while they forced Mob to do his job because they aren't aware nor did they care about what was actually going on. It's great that Reigen really cared for Mob's wellbeing the whole time to the point of abandoning the request. He got paid in the end so it wasn't a total loss but Mob's gonna approach his limit again at this rate...

I thought for a second that Reigen was starting to get affected by the consequences of his decisions but it was just a yawn all along. Another hilarious moment came right after that when he had Dimple slurp up that curse like noodles lmao

Interesting episode. Mob starts to feel more and more instead of stife all emotions he experiences.

Reigen is such a bad businessman, lol.

Ekubo wanted to save the day, but failed, unfortunatelly. ;p The job he did with one of those thugs was excellent, though.

Sounds too creepy from this episode, comparing every episode happen on Mob Psycho 100 series. Yet, its seems interesting tho seeing the development of Mob's feeling and behaviour. Even if its somehow keep stabilize at Mob's own rate, on his poker face. Something crazy might happen on the future with the sudden change of Mob's. Lets see next....

really interesting episode all around, loved how he has the help of so many people, dimple, his brother and the body improvement club to help with the problems that he shouldn't really face with his psychic abilities. Hope we do see more of the body improvment club, really like the part they played in season 1 and all in all they seem like absolute lads.
Really liked the concept of seeing non-evil spirits this time around, these one being just regular spirits. Also seems mob will be expressing himself much more this season which i will love to see, also happy that Reigen saw through mob and didn't force him to do something that would be way to inhuman for mob.

The whole decision making between pleasing himself (by saving the family) or pleasing the customers (by killing the family) was intense to watch and it was pretty interesting seeing genuinely good spirits. The website sure is popping off.

The girl was right to be creeped out of the peeping tom. I mean if he was so into her why not man up and ask her out or try to talk to her at the very least.

The 3 college students were pretty much assholes.

I honestly love the Body Improvement Club lol. They are like Mob's true friends fr. They'd fight for him in a heartbeat.

I'm so glad they didn't exorcise the peaceful spirit family.

What exactly is going through Mob's head?

Poor Mob. He's basically wondering if he will become evil because of how much power he has, it's like someone thinking about it while they're still currently "okay" in their life; but are aware that if the circumstances happen and it takes a toll on them just enough to make them evil, that it might happen.

That being said, I like this episode. And I definitely empathize with the family of ghosts. It's definitely just prejudice on the customers' part.

Also Reigen has a curse? I wonder if that's gonna be something later on.
