Dan of Steel is mighty fine, but his stand is so cowardly that it makes him look worse than the ass end of an orangutan in heat.

Dan should go ahead and kill himself now because Jotaro is going throw a whoop ass party, and Dan's going to wish that he lost his invitation.

I don't know how I feel about the narrator voice. I always imaged Araki softly whispering into my ears over my shoulder during narrator parts so it's weird to have a dramatic voice put to it. Regardless, the narrator parts are crucial to say the least so I'm glad they are paying so much attention to detail with them.

That Dan guy is so going to get the crap beaten out of him next episode. If he doesn't, then I will be severely disappointed.

Those tentacles looked incredibly terrifying as well.

It get more and more bizarre...
The enemy tend to attack Joseph first, maybe they consider him as the most difficult one to deal with.
Also, can't wait to see Jotaro punch Dan next week

Isn't this the same narrator as the 2012 series? Shouldn't you be used to it by now?

Probably not many. Look how well-scored HorribleSubs/CR is on the subgroups. I wish people would at least read the manga or listen carefully to what the audio says, at least some just refer to him as Dan.

I'm not going to lie, part of me is worried I'll get sick of that by the time this series ends. It seems like it's every other line that he says that.

Well as far as name changes go Dan of Steel is pretty innocuous and it is fairly obvious that it's meant to be Steely Dan to anyone knowledgeable about western musicians/groups. Frankly we should be glad the name changes aren't all Eiffel levels of horrible (thank god they didn't use that for the anime).

Also you should probably get used to the name changes now, considering all of the Stand names in the later parts. Names like Metallica are going to be problematic.

I don't dislike the name changes. I know that they're trying to avoid any possible lawsuits. I just dislike new fans who adapt the changed names instead of the original ones and (pretty dumb slippery slope incoming) I'm scared that this will eventually lead into the new names being the standard in the future.

Yeah I totally agree with this. It's crazy that the character can introduce himself as "Steely Dan", as in all that he's saying is his name, and people think his name is actually anything different :/

Tbh, I for one use Dan of Steel because it sounds cooler in my ears, regardless of the reference Steely Dan is supposed be. That's mostly because both names fit him well tbh and they're very easily interchangeable, really.
Something that for eg, couldn't be said about J Gail and Centerfold. But yeah, I think I get your concern.

I understand and agree with your concerns guys but you know right that Araki collaborated with DP on developing SC? So it's very likely that he worked on the names too, or at least they surely asked for his permission. As far I knew the name "Eiffel" he personally gave to Polnareff was not a tribute to the Eiffel tower but to the actual Italian band "Eiffel 65", so it's not that nonsense after all.

Personally, and this is strictly just my own subjective opinion that many might not agree with, but part of the charm of Jojo for me is the obvious music references. Removing them, for me, removes part of the charm of the show (only part of course, there's still the poses and ridiculous over-the-top action and plenty of other things to give it charm as well). So for me, it doesn't really matter if if Araki is giving these name changes his blessing or not, I still think removing them is a big negative blow to Jojo.

On the flip side, one advantage of fansubbing is that you can keep the intended names intact. So while the majority of anime viewers are watching Horriblesubs and Crunchyroll, us fansubbers can at least make it so SOME anime watchers know and use the intended names :P

Same, the music references in the manga played a huge role for my enjoyment, and furthermore I'm quite grateful to Araki since he made me discover a lot of good bands that I didn't know. (Ex: King Crimson, J. Geils ect.)

Anyway, as for the fandom, let's have faith in this new anime community of JoJo (even if I've seen some shit already). I mean, if they are smart enough they will research the references by themselves. After all, some subs might be off but the VAs actually say the original names. It could have been a lot worse. Aaand, even if I'm wrong I don't think it's that important honestly. What's important is how you feel about the original work, imho.

What a coincidence, these are the two bands that I also fell in love with due to JoJo. Not counting Yes since there was never a character or a Stand named after them.

There is, actually. Bruford is named after Yes drummer. But yeah, it's not an obvious reference that will guide you to the band.

Steely Dan, biggest ass since Kars. At least Kars had the fabulous thing going for him.

I loved seeing Jotaro trying to keep his temper in check for Joseph though! Aww, he cares about his grandad. Poor Joseph, the world just won't let him have it easy. I was thinking Kakyoin might use that possessing thing, but shrinking their Stands works too, I guess.

One the subject of size changing stands, it was mentioned in the episode that it took a lot of energy for Poleneraff and Kakoyoin to shrink their stands down to sizes that were unnatural for them. Combine this with the increased risk factor that being smaller brings and I doubt anyone would do it unless they have a distinct need for it.

Travel Tip: Haggling with Joestar seems effective even if it didn't work there.

Make sure to cross Jotaro Bridge while you're there~

I jumped a little when Silver Chariot cut the inside of Joseph's ear @-@

Dan of Steel better watch out because he's done for in the next episode :3

I can take pain 2x, the thing is Dan can't
Pretty sure from the first punch

Also, if only the one that following Dan is a masochist
It'll be so perfect xD

Or you know, restraining him would be a very handy thing to do
But what am I talking about? This is anime, you can't question anime logic xD
