Urara and inner Urara lmao
Ofc he'd win, meat alone is not enough xD
Ikumi's reaction when some called her cute, I fuckin' love her <3
Poor Ikumi at the end.
It was a fun episode. I liked that it was the rice that caused Ikumi to lose rather than the meat; she focused too much on one aspect of her dish, whereas Souma's was more balanced even though the meat might not have had quite as much of an impact.
This has managed to stay fresh so far. I hope it can continue to do so.
Buhh... Quite frankly, I don't get the buzz about this girl Ikumi.
The breasts, the tongue thing and her way of speaking is so irritating to me.
More than that, she is an Erina's ass-kisser to top it off.
I hope her character gets better and I don't mean in a "good girl" kind of way, but less ridiculous and annoying.
I was laughing the whole time because of the funny scenes in this episode. The "boo" moment is freakin' hilarious.
That was an intense fight!
In the end, Souma won. His cooking skills are superb. He is being resourceful and believes that the cost of an ingredient is not the main basis for a good cooking, but how you manage to apply your creativity in using any kinds of ingredients. He's just being practical when it comes to money. I also adore him for making don as a "whole package".
Ikumi, on the other hand, lives up to her expectations as the master of meat. However, she completely forgets that rice should also be observed and be blended well with the meat. That's why it's not a "whole package", although her skills are extraordinary.
See, this show teaches us great life lessons. Like how we should be practical in buying food and should not be depend on the high quantity/expense of the ingredient. And also, this show teaches us to "be ourselves". Yeah, because Ikumi's flashback is shown.
It's funny that Ikumi is starting to "romantically" like Souma. The plot twist in the end? Well, he's not really joining the Don Club, but just researching for recipes.
But at least he left a legacy: he saved that effing club.
Oh, Ikumi is the next Don of the Don club. Lololololol.
Well done, Souma. You made Ikumi submit....LIKE A BOSS!
Too much Ikumi goodness this episode.
If you see that my post is exactly 1 month old (or more) from when it was posted... Don't waste your time, especially when you want to reply with something petty & insignificant. Assume that I've moved on (because I have).
Megumi is still better than meat girl cuteness meter this episode was off the radar. The fact that he won with cheap meat XD looks like meat girl fell for Soma as well.
I honestly found the first 5 or so episodes to be generic and that the series was overrated but this episode was great. Really enjoyable and well written. Also, I have to say that the after credits scene was the funniest moment so far, had me laughing out loud!
I can't believe I saw those two cheaters again XD Guess they still haven't learned their lesson =w=;
This is why we can't judge the book by it's cover. Mito did love Souma's dish >w>
Souma have some wild card on his sleeve o_o Nice job X3
-The episode was much more compelling than I had expected.
-Those bowls look delicious.
-The swordsman is not defined by his sword, but rather it is he who defines it.
-Ikumi's flasback was somewhat heartbreaking actually.
-Megumi is adorbs.
-LOL so Souma didn't join Don RS after all of that. Will Ikumi follow through as the new Don? And thus, the Saint Knight continues on his journey after managing to defeat and convert an enemy general to his command and installed her as the leader of the small country whoase sovereignty had been saved.
It's quite funny how most of the students dislike Souma, even though Souma can cook better than their asses any day. IK were only 7 episodes in, and there is more to come but seeing it so far as it is, the audience has no room to talk.
Souma backs his confidence up with his cooking. lmao
Predictable because there's no way that Souma will be expelled.
I love this episode though! He proved them wrong that cheap meat couldn't beat an A5 meat.
Being a pianist when it comes to handling meat was a comparison I've never ever thought about but it did make a lot of sense. I like it when an anime visualizes their creative metaphors like that.
Mito's Grade A5 Wagyu Flower Don Bowl is a great luxurious dish but it's not really suited to be served on a bowl because the meat's flavor can only reach halfway through the rice while Soma's Chapalin Don Bowl on the other hand is to die for in every aspect. It's so good that you just have to shamelessly indulge in the taste and reveal your true self to the world. Quality ingredients are an important part in cooking but it's not everything as shown here.
Nikumi had developed a reluctant crush on Soma for calling her with a cute nickname but it looks like she's stuck with the former Don of Don RS because Soma won't be sticking around due to his ever-going quest to discover more additions to his secret menu.
While Souma spent the three days practicing, Nikumi was busy choosing her bra. She had quite a selection.
The idol Urara and her fans and... haters?
Another glance at Nikumi's boobs. Damn those pair of meat sure are bouncy and juicy!
Everyone was spectating, including the residents of the dorm, and Nakiri herself. We can see how she despise Souma:
The cute fluffy foodgasm:
Who would have thought that Souma's dish could touch Nikumi's deepest feelings?
And let's not forget the last foodgasm fanservice:
This episode is really something. It's the best one so far. Let's say, it's the hottest episode!
It has a balanced amount of action, comedy, drama, mouthwatering food teasing and fanservice.
Now I want a serving of that Yukihira's ricebowl for myself!!!
I like how a lot of the dishes trigger some sort of flashback from the taste tester's past. It's hard to put taste into words for someone who may not have ever tasted food created in the show.
I also wonder how accurate the cooking tips are and if I can actually use them.
Also it looks like meat girl has the hots for Souma!
Behold of my awesomeness~
controversial and/or sensitive topics likely devolve into the same repetitive, derogatory, abusive, and harassing comments can no longer be posted.
But my feels.
Loved this simple Shokugeki between Soma and Ikumi. A donburi bowl or any dish is best when all the components are in harmony and work together to make an amazing and delicious plate of food, and that's really how Soma won this duel. The guy not only showed so much technique to take a cheap cut of beef and elevate it to taste like A-grade quality with the help of onions, but his care for the rice and the sauce to balance out the heavy beef with refreshing and delicious flavors made it much more enticing to get through compared to Ikumi's dish which solely relied on the quality of beef carrying the dish and not the whole entire dish working together. Garlic rice with heavy beef made it clash and only made the dish feel enticing for a few bites for the critics whereas the plum flavored rice gave that acidity and freshness to make Soma's dish work better generally. Looked damn good too.
Sorry for sounding like a shitty critic, just always into cooking shows and duels like these and breaking them down in my head. Good episode nonetheless, and nice seeing Ikumi humbled a bit to a humble dish with cheap ingredients. Expensive produce and ingredients don't always make the best dishes.
Good thing Nikumi got humbled. I like her a little already but I don't like the fact that she's Erina's lackey.
Her dad seems like a jerk as well. I hope he's miserable and hates his life.
I love how nikumi's best skill according to Erina is to know the temperature with her lips, even though the only thing it allows is to not buy thermometer. You just buy a thermometer 50 bucks, and you have her skill but even more precise
Well, uhm that went exactly as i anticipated.
Host sure is kawaii.
Laughed at the discounted prepackaged supermarket meat.
And we got a little meat-kun fanservice too. Noice.
lol meat's reactions to his comments at the end were so cute. Same with her in the school uniform at the end. (the foodgasm was pretty nice too) The scene of her and Megumi in bathing suits at the end was cute.
I love this show. There was nothing like it.. and still isn't!
