It might've been the same unfortunate situation all over again but you can definitely feel the difference that will occur soon due to Watashi being more and more aware of what he needs to do.

It's nice to see Jouga being a frinedly guy for once (damn, he literally has the wall of tits in his house) despite seeing Ozu betray Watashi again but in a more villainous fashion like with the bike-stealing and biplane sabotaging.

It's notable that he made a lot of effort throughout the episode despite his dedication being of no real purpose or backfiring. Hope his situation gets better.

Poor Watashi. This guy just can't get a break.
At first, I was thinking Ozu was some kind of sadist, but I'm starting to think that Ozu might actually be trying to help Watashi in his own way.

Interesting art work...

Another great episode. I love how they subtly address the mysterious circumstances in the second half of each episode.

It was nice Ozu as the bad guy. He's the devil lol. Watashi's self destructive attributes made him to fail. Fun fact: the bad guy from episode 2 was nice here.

^ This interaction was so dumb and cute. I loved it, and it was especially nice seeing Akashi be so similar to Watashi in her weirdness. They're both the odd ones out really--it wouldn't surprise me if Akashi was in the exact same situation Watashi is in, being that she's always changing circles as well. I wonder if she even has her own devil on her shoulder too.

Feels like the part here is rushed. This part is all about cycling and the characters here are really different compared to the first two episodes, and the flying part is my favorite one. I would like this part to be longer, they didn't introduce the circle that much. Another wasted effort, as well as college life.

This time, Watashi is putting in more effort to reach that rose-coloured campus life, so much effort in fact that it's all just wasted away. 2 Years of part-time jobs, went down the drain when Ozu stole his 6000+ USD bike away. Efforts wasted when he cycled the competition with his non-racing bike 4 hours too late. Efforts wasted by working out, preparing for pedalling the plane when it's just a glider with no pedals.

Quite depressing to think that no hard work would go well if life fucks you over.

No REAL promise this time, but I guess Akashi was looking forward to the day the glider will be flown by Watashi officially. Damn, Ozu is a huge asshole for this ep.

Many changes in this third world. The biggest change was that Watashi had succeeded in realizing the 'opportunity that was appeared before his eyes', but failed to finish the blow because the plot had set him to still fall. However, the meeting with Akashi was a little better than before. Now, they are able to walk side by side, even in one bycycle, even if only for a moment, and still ended in a failure. Still, Ozu meeting could ruin everything. The world repeat itself again. Until when is it all over? Until the end of the series? The answer is obvious.

Interesting premise. I thought the first ep was boring but these last two episodes were pretty good. I think he should just man up and confess to Akashi though. It is clear she likes him.

Also: The OP is fire.

Speaking speed peaked again... I guess it's in line with this episode's club (bike racing).
I never minded boys and girls to be oblivious to each other in other series but when the same two years are repeated over and over with two "very japanese" young people who can't even become friends or at least become closer than mere vague acquaintances and then suddenly at the end of the second year, the guy gets some love revelation based on something that sounds like nothing more than an attempt at getting to know him (despite him having little to no romantic interest in the person, but only in adolescent love itself), I can't prevent being annoyed. (Too bad because the series is very well made.)

3/5 This will become a chore before the tenth episode...

She is very much so a modern girl. I suppose, considering this, and that Watashi needs to be led by Akashi (for him to be with her), that the author is saying that we are in a time where it is acceptable for Akashi to lead Watashi. Then again, this makes a rather big assumption that Watashi needs to be led by Akashi for him to get her.

What does this "leading" talk mean? ^^"

Goddammit Ozu, why would you do this?

Another loop, another circle and this time it's the cycling circle. Now I get why this series is relatable. when you're a teen, you're trying to find out what your passion is and what would help you in getting ahead in life.

Watashi is also trying to do this by immersing himself in all these circles but it doesn't really work out for him in the end and he chooses another potential interest.

Even I haven't really found a passion for something.

Same goes for Akashi and this ep, she builds a Birdman plane(which also goes to shit thanks to Ozu).

Something I find interesting as I'm watching this for the first time is the strong sense I get of forward momentum and progression despite the themes and events suggesting infinite repetition.

I feel the story slowly progressing with the MC interacting more with Akashi. Poor MC lost his cycle XD

I think the most important element of this episode was how divorced Ozu and Akashi were from they typical pattern. Both of them still played important roles of course, and Akashi even had a more proactive role than usual with her abducting Watashi for the Birdman. However, there's no promise for Watashi, rather than Akashi bringing it to his attention, he realizes that she's missing on her own.

And while in the previous encounters Watashi was able to shift blame for his actions on Ozu's influence, Ozu isn't his partner in crime here, Ozu actually works behind his back this time. Though while it doesn't play a role in the episode's plot, Watashi does agree to start helping Ozu's scheme on the condition they target couples on bikes.

I mentioned in the last episode the series is setting up for Watashi to overcome his flaws, one of them being acknowledging his role in the schemes with Ozu, and another being his inability to carry through on Akashi. But this episode crystalizes his biggest flaw, his pursuit for an idyllic life that doesn't exist. A lot of the issues he has in the episode stems from him striving for better, whether it be slaving away for a bike to solve all his problems, or working out despite being told he was the perfect specifications for their birdplane. Not that the series is criticizing working hard for a goal per se, I think the convo with Akashi disregards that in the post-buff chat, but rather the methods and the focus. The latter being discussed expressly by Ozu "Would it be so bad to give yourself up and go with the flow" or his earlier line about enjoying wasting his time. In being so deadsight on crafting the rose-coloured campus life, he is hurting his ability to enjoy the time he has.

And as for the former, most of his efforts to achieve his dream life are focused on essentially big sweeping [romantic] gestures like getting buff and winning a competition, rather than forming a genuine connection. The scene where they both stop on the race and talk about machinery and sakura petals are more important to developing an intimate relationship than winning a race with the bike you've slaved away from.

All his efforts are, to quote Akashi, "An incredible waste of energy," because after all, he only really needs to keep his promise.

Another excellent episode!

I love how Watashi roasts Ozu whenever they first meet in an episode.

That old lady must be loaded with cash if she gets all that money for saying the same shit over and over again.

It seems like Watashi is getting closer to Akashi-san with every passing episode. I love her blunt nature and how she reacts when there's a moth. She has a certain charm to her.

Huh, Jougasaki is a helpful guy here? Still weird considering he's a tits maniac.

Damn this reality/past went southways fast. Ozu always mentions that they are bound together by the black thread of fate or some shit and I think he is like an incarnation of bad luck who has been latching onto the mc and ruining his chances. So as long senpai interacts and eventually befriends Ozu he'll never have his rose colored college life. But then why is the matrimonial god not doing anything?

This episode may have broken the central premise of the story, but only time will tell. The story makes sense if the only change that occurs in each timeline is from Watashi making a new decision. This requires every other character to be static outside of the influence Watashi's actions cause. It was a bit of a surprise that Akashi was in the bicycling club and their ace, but most so that I doubt it will be a thing in other episodes.

this episode somehow clicked for me
it captures the feeling of feeble effort better than the last two.
But the beauty of anime like these is that even though it resets, the impact of previous episodes are so clear.
3k Yen, Protag grabbing the chance (even though he fails), Akashi being less of a jerk, Ozu revealing his true nature

This was my favorite episode so far. I wonder if Watashi is aware that he is in a time loop because he knows that there is a raise. I'm now sure that Ozu has a connection with the man who calls himself God.

This episode was pretty tragic, especially the way that main character had so much trouble during the competition for racing and he was unable to even start racing until four hours after everyone had already started. That’s such a long time to wait and it must have been so miserable and especially given the fact that he lost his bicycle also must have made it super tough. It's really hard for the main character, but you can see that there's some, at least good moments, and there's a value to everything that happened to the main character, of course. There's interesting memories. There's a friendship with Ozu, there's the I don't know, perhaps, skills he learned from working all of those part time jobs to afford the bicycle. There's maybe the friendships he made, or at least connections with people while he was working those mundane jobs. So there's, of course, good elements to everything that he did, because there's also bad things too. It really shows how much of just a 21 year old kid the main character is in the way that he just decided to get really muscular after the people at the Birdman place told him to keep his body the same. That was a really dumb decision that wouldn't have happened if he spent perhaps even ten seconds reflecting over his actions. But it's fine. I would honestly say that main character is, despite that, probably of above average intelligence, just from the way that he's able to describe everything and his analysis skills, his self awareness of his life. seemed to point to an above average intelligence, but he did make a logical misstep there. It also shows how dedicated the main character is. Remember, last episode, he learned the art of movie making over the course of two years. In this episode, he works really hard to get a bicycle, and I think that deserves some applause and some some congratulations, it's not easy to do all that. He was so careful to make sure that his bike wouldn't get stolen, but it did, which is kind of funny in a twisted way. Anyways, it was a good episode. I also think that I just feel bad for the main character. I wish Ozu was a part of that running club, I mean, the biking club, but he wasn't. It was interesting how the eggplant chin guy ended up winning. It just seems that he wants to mess with people, and he's just so connected with the whole underground activities at the campus that he was able to get a hand on that bicycle and also shows that if the main character did hold onto the bicycle, he would have gotten what he wanted, he would have won the tournament. But with his mindset, winning that tournament might not have given him much enjoyment because he would still have the same framing of, oh, I regret my life, and I wish things were different, which are fair things to think, but there’s a problem there that's hard to articulate. The main character clearly needs to realize that his life in the events that are happening in it have value. But it's really hard to put that for him to put that into words, because it's kind of like a consolation prize. He's had so much misery and for him to have to admit that, kind of feels like he has to accept something that he doesn't even really want and doesn't really like. He wishes that he could have had a normal experience at his campus, but he clearly isn't meant for that kind of life, which is tragic. I had a great time watching and it was a great episode.
