| i think this show is going to be hated by the people that have played the game (mostly) and liked by people that haven't thats what i get from these forum discussions in any case this episode went so FAST the trail was fine, i didn't like the baseball guy when he was just shouting idiot over and over again his reaction was annoying and unconvincing... also even for me someone who hasn't played the game the execution was disappointing to say the least, that should have been brutal to watch but it was actually rather comical :/ such a shame! other than that its keeping my interest its just 13 episodes to get used to that many characters and get a story in their (which they clearly can't do if they are skipping, deleting stuff that is in the game) was always going to be tough, but i think there doing a plausible job at least |

| ok so i wasnt expecting much out of this series out of the first episode. but now all i can say is wow! this is some good anime. i love everything about it. i understand why they censored the execution but i kinda wanted to see it |

| Definitely seems like its similar at least if not ripped off of Phoenix Wright at least in some aspects of the trial LOL. They even had the objection thing! This would be much more efficient to figure out if I had all the evidence in front of me as well as all the names of the people and their capabilities. How did he get that crystal ball anyway and why didn't he get rid of the toolkit? I guess he wasn't really thinking it through since it wasn't a planned murder. I saw leoll as the name reading it the other way since that is a common way to solve mysteries with a random number but I read it as ll instead of N because I didn't examine it thoroughly enough. I didn't have any names in front of me so it was difficult to see that it was actually Leon. Though if the culprit wrote the dying message himself, then I think it would almost be game over for the rest of them because that was their biggest basis on suspecting Leon. But then there was the toolkit so maybe but he could have just said that he had to fix something like his bathroom door. (Although then the MC knows that all guy doors except for his were installed correctly). This culprit did not necessarily have to be a guy either although it is most probably a guy because she would have the biggest chance at attracting a guy because she is an idol. Fearfully if this crime was carried out better (confirming death and getting rid of certain pieces of evidence) it could have screwed them. Also their investigation needs to check everyone's rooms, I hope they did but it didn't clearly show it. This is since evidence could be hidden in peoples rooms etc. Motive for the murder was strange as well (if it wasn't just to get out of the school). The murder does not seem to be planned. Why would he have to kill her? He already put her into a corner by turning the tables and having her hide in the bathroom. All he had to do was leave, lock himself in his room and report the incident the next morning. Killing was not needed, yet you can see by the room that there was a major struggle to murder the victim. This can be explained by the marks being made by the victim but this is unlikely since the marks seem to have the intention to have a intent to get into the bathroom. Therefore it seems to me that the only good reason he really wanted to kill her for the reason of finding a good opportunity to get out of the school. |

| I like the episode but it seems kinda rushed expect for the actual game. But I understand it because the staffs have limited time for Naegi to investigate more before the class trial. I'm glad to play the game first before watching this, because I have no problem in coping for one's death(at first when I first time played the game, I nearly cried because of numerous deaths) and I have no problem in understanding every situation. R.I.P, Leon Kuwata. |

| That was pretty good. I can tell that the game might be fun to play. I'll get it sometime later. For sure I thought it was the guy with the glass ball. Damn, she was going to stab him in the back! Literally! 3 down, 12 left. I wonder who's going to make it out? If it's the main character that would suck. It would be too obvious for him to live. |

| Bad adaptation. The anime version fail's miserably setting the mood thanks to having to squeeze so much content into 13 episode series. The game really hooked me up at the beginning but i feel absolutely nothing while watching the series so far. Everything happens so quickly that you don't have no reason to care about the characters and there's zero tension. |

| It took them long enough to get that it said Leon on the wall >> I guessed Maizano had planned on killing someone and gotten that weapon used against her as there was another weapon. Using the baseball to put the furnace on was a good idea. Getting killed by baseballs, guessed that but didn't really show it properly. The manga panel bits and other bits during the trial were really kinda odd though :/ Never played the game though so I guess it happens like that maybe in that, I dunno. Who's next I wonder. |

| Monokuma and his Winnie the Pooh honeypot. I wanted to see how Kuwata killed her tbh. How he broke her wrists and whatnot. Also, I need to find an uncensored version, if there is one. I need to see the blood. The second death was more brutal though. I'd expect nothing less from Monokuma and his punishments. |

| Got to be honest, not really thrilled with all the gameplay mechanics still popping up during the class trial. I guess it's suppose to keep things more visually interesting but the truth bullets popping up seemed a little shoe-horned in. Or even highlighting the important dialogue that Makoto's going to "shoot" with the aforementioned bullet. It's necessary to do this in the game, since there are multiple lines of dialogue to choose from & multiple bullets you could shoot making it something you had to think about, keeping you involved in the experience. However when it's condensed like this in anime form, it removes suspense & involvement. By emphasizing Leon's "We're out of clues" dialogue, the anime is straight up informing you of it's importance immediately rather than letting Makoto's "You're wrong" be more of a surprise. It also weakens the impact of that line when it's letting you know it's going to happen. I kinda like how they intercut some of the comic panels throughout the episode though, instead of saving the whole thing for Makoto's case recap. Outside of that decision though, they didn't seem to do a lot to re-contextualize the game mechanics for an anime adaptation. Speaking of adaptation, I was pretty upset that they just left Leon's self-defense excuse out in the open. I preferred how the game took the time to call him out on that BS. Specifically, it was Celeste if I recall correctly. But on the other hand, I thought they handled the Kyoko/Makoto scene at the end of the episode pretty nicely. |

| I've read some reviews before watching the anime and honestly while reading the negative reviews I thought I shouldn't watch the anime but the plot keep me interested well now I know the couse of those negative reviews. The plot is 10 itself but the problem is the animation and the sound track it self. If you guys want to create something related to horror and mystery then make the blood color red what is the meaning of pink color blood are they some kind of special species who carry pink blood in there blood vessels stop the stupid crap already :/ |
| I just finished playing the game before trying my luck with this anime and I'm quite disappointed sadly. Understandably, having only 13 episodes, 20 min each, to work with means you're gonna have to cut down on some of the in-game content, but I'm sorry to say that cutting away the days the characters spend with each other, thus leaving the viewer no time to connect or care about any of them, is just awful. The last lines of this episode especially, tells of how little we know about any of them. Makoto saying he was "psychic" is a nice callback to all the times Maizono used that joke on him in the game, but I believe we were only shown something similar to that once in the last couple of episodes, leaving the fact he joked with Kyoko about it, going over the viewers heads. The thing that made the game fun was leaving the player a bunch clues and having them piece the murder together and then present it in the trial phase, while here, the investigation part was completely cut and the viewer were only shown a bunch of objects, with no thought process behind them, leaving the viewer being spoonfed the series of events that was the murder in the trial. Where's the fun in solving a murder mystery if the viewer doesn't actually do any solving? My point is, if you went into this anime thinking you were gonna follow along on a fun mystery solving story, you are gonna be disappointed. I think I'm gonna spend my time elsewhere. Play the game instead. |
