 It was announced at the Dengeki Bunko Autumn Festival 2016 held today that light novel Zero kara Hajimeru Mahou no Sho will receive a TV anime adaptation for Spring 2017. He always dreamt of becoming a human, but one day, he met a witch who would change his life forever. "Do you desire a human form? Then be my escort, mercenary!" The witch introduced herself as "Zero," and explained that she was searching for a one-of-a-kind magical tome that bandits had stolen from her lair. A manga adaptation drawn by Takeshi Iwasaki has been serializing in Dengeki Maoh magazine since December 2014. Kadokawa has published four volumes of the manga with the latest released on August 9. 'Zero kara' is a pretty common Japanese phrase, especially for adventure games and fiction, as it means starting from level 1 with no equipment, ReZero tried to make it into a pun by using Re: to make it seem like a text as well as meaning Reincarnation. |

The series started their light novel releases at much the same time - if they had started a bit further apart then I might have got them confused at first myself. | Rather excited for this as adventure fantasy light novel adaptations are White Fox's strength. Will most probably be 2-cour with 7 volumes already out. ANN's synopsis sounds much better: The "grimoire fantasy" series follows a witch named Zero who is ignorant of the world and a half-beast half-human mercenary who longs to be human. Witches who practice sorcery exist in the world, however, in this era no one knows how about the art and study of witchcraft. Zero is going on a journey to search for a magical tome called "The Book of Zero" that hides a power that can destroy the world. The mercenary travels with her as her guard.  |
