I can't be the only person picking up a slight Michael Jackson vibe on this patient, if for nothing else than the outfit and being a former child star.

That was actually the first thing I thought of when I saw the preview for this episode.

I didn't really care for the episode. Nothing got resolved really, and even though it said to be continued (more abruptly than the others) we're getting a new guy.

I laughed pretty hard when he ripped off his shirt. This is probably the weakest episode yet, but it was still quite entertaining.

That's the sad truth, very small developments and no resolution really here. More than that, no improvement for this patient from his initial state in the episode. Well, it was funny at least.

He now uses his smile in a positive way. Since he can't change, he finally decided to use it in variety shows...

A decent take on how someone could get in way over his head after one stroke of success; it was hilarious how people kept referring to him as Student A XD

I agree that the resolusion was quite different from the that of the other patient in the sense that our guest here got his 'happy ending' by sheer luck instead of facing his problems head on. A bit unsatisfying that he didn't end up recovering from his narcissim, but it was entertaining for the most part.

I thought that this was going to be really good.
I don't understand how they just let him revert back to his old behavior.
Sure it was by chance, but I feel like all that effort he went through was for nothing.

AS Fukuichi explained he had his problem solved. His problem was the constant smiling and he learned to do something that he did incounsciously when he wants to do it. It became funny because of that and he got a job in a variety show. He also learned that his image doesn't matter.

But the ep was weak. The only good parts were Irabu hitting on the manager and getting turned off when Hiro laughed after the injection.

I think they have made the developments and resolutions nice in all episodes. If you want the patients to get cured I think you are asking to much. That would be way strange if all characters just got cured. It's a long way to go irl.
And "to be continued" doesn't have to mean that you will see Hiromi again.
As I said I think this anime is really good. It's interesting and actually funny sometimes. That's me, laughing at others behaviours and diseases. :(

I didn't say 'cure,' I said 'resolution.' A lot of the disorders haven't been cured, since, as has been stated by what's his face with the interjections, thinking that drugs will solve the problem is not correct. The yakuza guy is still ocd about edges, he just realized that everyone is crazy about something and that he can only take it one day at a time.

The point is, that most of the characters had come to a point of clarity on their problems, allowing them to move forward, and I didn't feel that with this patient at all. The abruptness of the ending only intensifies my feeling of a lack of resolution.

I think we will see Hiromi again, just not as the focus character, since this is the way the show has gone so far. This doesn't mean that I think the show is bad, because my previous comments don't support that thought. I just think it was a misstep that sticks out compared to all of the others.

Yes, I have to agree with most of these posts. This episode had potential to be amazing, but turned out to be pretty mediocre.

I enjoyed this episode, but considerably less than the rest. One I'd like to mention though, is that there was sort of a resolution to this case. It was said towards the end that some people are able to eventually control this type of personality, which I believe is what happened.

Decent episode. Made me laughed at some parts esp. the nipple and shirt ripping. LMAO

But not as great as others though.

At least, his resolution was quite different from others which was a good thing. :)

Irabu hitting the manager was funny. lol

It seems I'm the only one who truly enjoyed this episode and wasn't disappointed at all.
I liked that they didn't use the classic 'They were treated badly when young and that's why they are now narcissists' idea. They gave a new interesting approach to narcissism and that in itself was enjoyable.
Also, the fact that they showed how narcissism can't be properly cured but instead the narcissist has learnt how to live with it happily and without hurting her manager, in other words he is now (imo) a highly functional narcissist.
Anyway, I really liked this episode and can't wait for the last 2.

This, but that's it. I didn't like the episode, and this is the first episode I didn't like from this show. The patient was kinda retarded at the end, I thought he reverts back to his child mentality or something, due to the shock of being laughed at, even though this is clearly not the case.

His narcissism was hardly a problem until it started messing up with his career, but now that it's become manageable, it's not longer a problem and therefore by Irabu standards, no longer requires treatment. Yes, he may simply reflect his younger self (childish and usage of smiling as a comedic element) but Irabu's job is not to say, "make people better", as that route is often tediously difficult and often causes more problems than it will solve.

just a bit disappointed. it seemed like it was going to go really deep into relating this guy's disorder with how everybody in society views themselves through the eyes of other people who don't really care that much about other people's image in the first place.
then they just threw that message out the window and made the guy utilise, but not realise his narcissism.

Don't really get what it has to say here.
First I expected it would deal with image, narcissism, and inability to let go of the past and mature in both their arts and their lives (which often plague child actors)

But in the end, no. So is it saying that you don't need to overcome your illusion? you can make a bad thing into your own advantage if you know how? Maybe, because Fukuicchi said sth about taking an unconscious reflex and turning it into a conscious behavior? So how does that cure the disorder?

Awww, instead of throwing the "image" away
It's better to embrace it 100x more

I guess in a way, I can see there are lots of ex-child actors suffering from this kind of sickness
Maybe that's why a lot of ex-child actors become comedians

The opening scene showed the friends of that guy from ep. 6 in the audience

I think I've seen Atsuko somewhere in the previous episodes. I think she liked Hiromi. Were they in a relationship or not? Also that scenario for "Wings of Love", I remember Itabu showing it in ep. 4. During the audition scene one of the papers said that Junichi Hoshiyama (ep. 3) was the scriptwriter!

Also noticed that Irabu's suit color has been changing since the first episode...white, red, pink, blue, black...

I wonder what's the reason for this new injection scene

P.S. That bed scene on the script when the man changed to a seal was WILD

I feel like the last few episodes haven't been as satisfying as the first few. Starting from the yakuza with a fear of sharp objects, none of the patients have really had proper resolutions, they just luck into having a better life which just feels off to me.

I'm not saying every problem should be solved within an episode but it just feels like Irabu's messing with them for a while and then just saying "It'll all work out somehow" and then it does.

Yeah, probably one of the weaker ones but still a good episode. I don't have much to say on this one as opposed to the others, but the moment where Hiromi exposed himself and the nipple pins was hilarious, especially Irabu's reaction to it. As well as the Seal having sex imagery, both were great bits.

I'm guessing the ending is probably going to be continued on in the series finale.
