This was the episode I was waiting for. I love it. |
I like to post in manga forum when I feel it is worth it, so people will think. "Shit, is her again" or something. People asked me where I read certain thing but the rules say no telling where did you read so maybe I am too boring for not saying? Or salty because you didn't check my profile that says don't ask because I hate people to ghost me after that. I love learning languages so maybe I did not read the manga in English. |

To be honest, I'm not really enjoying the Misaka's part in this arc. I mean, her in early part is fine but when it turned into Turning Misaka into LVL 6, it just feels off to me. First of all, it's really anti-climatic, especially since Index is already further than Railgun and ofc we know nothing happens to Misaka. Second, how does this project fit into this story thematically? It just feels kinda forced to me as I expect at least it leads to something like previous arc. I really hope future episode fix this issue. Overall, this arc is fine, but I really find the whole Misaka into LVL 6 is unnecessary. Also, I really hoped they delve more into explaining scientific part. Like really, the thing I really like about this franchise is that the explanation is part of the fun. Whether it is science or magic, I really like how they do try to make it to make sense despite the whole thing is really just magic lol. Removing or omitting this stuff make it less fun. |

RayReynolds said: It is as bad as it would be to see Naruto (MC) always being rescue by Sakura(for example) and reduced to his basic characteristics like goofy loser, this is worse for Mikoto because she is not a helpless girl, she is a level 5 that as the story establishes they are powerful characters, however when she is close to Touma drains Misaka of her personality. Misaka may be a simple character in terms of personality and ideals but when she's around Touma, she get reduced to tsundere in a one sided crush without much further attraction to Touma as a person rather than the ideal that it makes her look bad compared to what they let Touma get away with. As a dreaded anime-only watcher I 100% agree with this statement, I can't stand anime Touma or Misaka whenever she is around him, not just because I have a natural aversion to all things tsundere. To make this clear, I'm not shitting on the novel character because I haven't read them. But, I can still judge the anime depiction of the character and its as generic, boring and bland as you can get. However, by far the worst aspect of Touma is that he always has to safe Misaka and beat the villain in her bloody show. I don't care if he has help or not, he is always the one delivering the finishing blow. And I know this is a side-story but can you name me a single spin-off were the main character from the main show, steals the spotlight and defeats the bad guy? On a side note what is it with all the hate against the anime-only watchers giving their opinion? I can understand if LN fans get annoyed by people shitting on their favorite character all the time, just because they haven't read the source material and don't understand it. But don't blame them, blame the for not adapting the character rightfully. |

@Sasutschi >However, by far the worst aspect of Touma is that he always has to safe Misaka and beat the villain in her bloody show. So where was he in the first season and more than half of of the second? How about every time she saved him in both Railgun and Index series? The villain in this arc wasnt even beaten by Touma or any other male that just debuted. It was beaten by her friends. All of her female friends worked together to beat Gensei and Mitori. >I don't care if he has help or not, he is always the one delivering the finishing blow. You dont seem to know what always means. He also didnt face the villains in this arc. >And I know this is a side-story but can you name me a single spin-off were the main character from the main show, steals the spotlight and defeats the bad guy? So why have Misaka do anything worth of mention in his series? Also how many bad guys has Touma defeated in Railgun? 1?And that was literally an Index arc told by her pov. >On a side note what is it with all the hate against the anime-only watchers giving their opinion? Because you make up stuff. In all 3 seasons of Railgun Touma has only faced Accelerator, in an arc straight from the main series. And aside from this he was there to help her agaisnt 1 epser who was relevant for 2 episodes at worst. So either you are lying to push some narrative or you never actually watched this series. And god forbid Misaka has some flaws and cant beat the enemy or becomes the enemy. We cant have that with the pure lil Misaka. |

Amazing animation at the end fight, HOLY SHIT! That looked incredibly cool. However, this arc didn't impact nearly has much as the Sisters act. The stakes just didn't feel as high somehow. Also, shouldn't Mikoto have some kind of side effects from almost becoming an ethereal being? Nitpicking aside, this was still very enjoyable and cute/embarressed Mikasa is best Mikasa, I love her interactions with Touma, and also Saten/Kuroko's antics lol |

My favorite part of Railgun has always been the characters, and this season has really allowed them to shine. The only issue I have with the series is unavoidable for it being a side story, I guess - I just wish Touma didn't have to swoop in and save the day at the end of the major arcs. Even though Railgun filler is quite bad, at least Misaka gets to help close the case herself. (Also, I wish that Saten/Uiharu/Kuroko were able to learn more about what is actually happening in Academy City.) |

There's a bunch of stuff here that surprised me. First and most obvious is probably Touma's dragons. Well, I'm not exactly sure what to think but it does make him a little less dull. Apparently Imagine Breaker is something a bit more crazy than just him canceling Esper / Magic powers. I suppose he's "absorbing" them ..or maybe "eating" is more accurate... at least, his power, whatever it is, sure devoured that attack and saved the day. Tore it to pieces in fact. This kind of reaction (to her 2 friends saving her) is why I love Kongou Mitsuko. She's a weird one, but a fantastic character. Definitely not the stereotype she seems when she's first introduced, she's a lot more than she seems. On the same note, Kuroko is a lot more badass than anyone would have guessed at the start, though we've kinda known that for a long time now. She probably has more serious encounters than Railgun herself throughout all the series. Half annoying, half funny, but she's definitely hardcore. Doing stuff like taking injuries to create an opening is definitely not something you'd expect at the start... though at this point she's been more seriously injured than anyone in the series, more often than anyone in the series, too. Kuroko definitely holds the record on being stabbed and slashed (...among other things, like the record for biggest pervert) in this anime. Oh yeah, Saten + Uiharu and that little plan to set Mikoto up with Touma was hilarious. I'm not sure who my favorite of the group of friends is, but it's probably Saten Ruiko or Kongou Mitsuko. Both of them are great characters and add a lot to the show even when there isn't anything going on. ....while I'm on about good characters, Shokuhou Misaki is also a much more interesting character than I bargained for. Quite a meticulous planner - One of the only characters who is actually very much like you would expect from her stereotype is Misaka Mikoto. Not that I dislike her, but she, at least, is highly predictable. She's literal Shonen hero/heroine material - tsundere with a naruto-esq straightforward attitude. It's kind of amazing she doesn't have pig-tails and pink/purple hair. |

ngl, touma's mid-fight "I can and have to do this" self righteous monologues are so dumb. And oh no he lost another arm, because he thought he could do the impossible and was stupid. But oh yay he inexplicably has super duper ex machina power that saves the day, yay. Like what did his new power that he didn't even know about just overcome a level 5.1 or level 6 whatever's power? Okay then! But is he the supposed unknown rank 6 level 5 esper, which he himself forgot he was? Twist! It all ended pretty fast though if you think about it, this is anime after all where fights are stretched out across several episodes. Here touma rushes in and the next thing we know his arm gets ripped off and dragons come out of it and save the day in like two minutes and ooo wat is dat metal can they sell it to make some big moneyz..?? and yeah guts dude is freaking cool bro I hope he's not a one hit wonder and that he makes an appearance later as well Kind of sad though that memory-loss kuroko is now gone, seemed like losing her memory made her more badass- but i am HAPPY that we get to see that campfire dance that was super-glossed-over in index II, frick yeah. Saten playing with misaka's feelings for fun and kuroko's eyes looking like they could kill was GOAT. DONTCHU???? y-yess, i doo... just glad we got some tsundere misaka. usually it's been limited to index, never seen in railgun due to lack of touma, but now we actually get some here. nice. Good arc with some good fun and with some slightly dumb high stakes that came out of nowhere at the end. Leagues better than any of the church-related arcs that plagued the index series with extreme boring, and the best thing from railgun besides the sisters arc from railgun S. Oh wait is there one more episode to this arc? FINE WITH ME edit: ok I take back anything I said about touma's ex machina powers being dumb, I forgot about the second arc from the first index since all that stuff was so boring it was a haze to me, and I am not well informed when it comes to the light novels. Kuro_Kaen said: Ok, what was up with the dragons. Does Touma have the same power as Issei from DxD or something. I don’t get it... Let's just say the Imagine Breaker is a seal for all the horrors contained within Touma's arm. There have been some foreshadowing in the early Index novels, and some "events" that take place at the later novels which investigates his powers. He has 17 dragons and none of them actually are presently "allied" to him, but he has a relationship with them that's unlike Issei (you got to read upto last NT volume, or just check the wiki). The powers of these dragons are given by the Railgun manga editor - you can check em, someone posted them here. Besides the dragons, you also saw two other things in Index III - the Invisible Thing and the one that suppressed the Invisible Thing. Without spoiling much, finding an explanation for this power is one of the main story goals of Toaru franchise as a whole. There are many theories behind them, but none are confirmed totally to be true. Let's just say Touma is full of dark secrets only Aleister has the right to know. |

Touma once again releasing his right hand potential, when losing her.. Kongou wanted to help.. Kind from her.. And also she became more attentive to other people around, she feels?.. Sweet.. As well as maybe she got closer with Wannai and Awatsuki, even blushed from happiness.. ;P Well, for now I don't like or dislike Misaki.. As she had her reasons, why she did stuff.. And these reasons, I guess, is to protect sisters, because of the love to Dolly?.. Well, perhaps - that's what I think.. But on the other side, she still controls almost all people around whenever she pleases, lol.. Which is kinda of a bad thing.. Making other people her slaves - questionable thing.. Not too bad for now, because I haven't seen her doing something too bad.. But even like giving them small tasks, like tell something I like, or salute, or whatever - is already a disrespect to them as humans.. So for now I guess I'll stay neutral about Misaki.. Still more to see, really, to decide, whether she's good person or bad person.. Maybe she's just like this - selfish person, who does whatever the fuck she wants.. Like using other people randomly?.. Sure, let's do that.. Saving Misakas sisters, because out of personal feelings, because you wanna that?.. Sure, let's do that as well.. Maybe she is character like that.. Or maybe not.. Who knows.. Still more to see, really, how and what for she uses her powers.. lol, what is that shy blush by Wannai and proud smile by Awatsuki at 16:13?.. ;D Did they do something for their weight?.. lol at that last shot before ED.. ;P |

Man, I see a whole lot of comments in this that didn't even watch Index - I do admit that the direction of Index - especially the first 2 seasons, is not great, but there's still lots of good information, plot, and characters in there. It's kind of crazy to watch the spinoff but never get around to the main series - the more you see of each the more sense Index will make, though if you're anime-only you're still missing plenty. Maybe because of poor direction, but the more background on events you get the more coherent the overall plot and world-building are. Especially in Index III - there are some great moments for numerous great characters, most importantly the series 3 male protags (yes, 3. You'll get it if you watch. For that alone, I highly recommend watching it.) There are plenty of anime / other forms of entertainment that are confusing until you get more of the story, which isn't introduced until much later - lots of them leave things ambiguous intentionally. I'm not suggesting whether I think that's a good thing or a bad thing, because it's entirely subjective and dependent on what events are transpiring, but it's not as if it says as ambiguous as it is after only a couple episodes. You guys are definitely doing yourselves a disfavor if you enjoyed this but don't intend to watch (and/or read, if you have time to do so) the core of the series. What little I have read (which is not much, yet) is certainly better (and more coherent) in the LN... I will say that the anime adaptation is poorly done in Index, but it's not THAT bad either. The 3rd season being vastly superior in that regard - it's worth watching just for more background on interesting characters in an interesting world. The encounters and relationships between them, between the 3 series, have a lot more value as you see more of them... obvious truth there. Anyway, I love this series and it makes me sad that some people are strictly Railgun only. It's definitely got better direction - and is less rushed, but there's just SO MUCH that isn't addressed. --------------------------------------- Oh... and I guess the reason I got on here to comment in the first place was to ask, does anyone know wtf the icicles were, that were forming as Sogiita Gunha was trying to suppress the big ...anti-matter bomb looking thing? (yes, I know that's probably not what it is, it's MY description). Who the hell was doing that? Was there someone else involved in this, that they are intentionally not showing? Kind of strange, because they went out of their way to show them, yet to no end or purpose that is clear at this point. I didn't notice the first time I watched this, but now it stands out to me very much. |

Good thing I saw index 3 first. We saw some sort of new power in that season but this touches up on it more. Very cool looking. Ending was cute too. |

a bit sad kurokos memories of not having memories (:D) were changed. id love to have seen her reaction to not recognizing misaka and still falling in love. and talking about love. not a big fan of the touma x misaka ship but the ending scene was hilarious |

I knew what we were getting at just from the ending sequence of the last episode, but they exceeded my assumptions. Not because of some out of nature animation and choreography JC Staff pulled in this episode but because we were again left hanging and thinking as to WHAT even Touma's right arm aka Imagine breaker is? That right arm can grow back, we know. There's an invisible thing too, we know. But it can summon so many colorful dragons all at once is something of a news. I guess only reading ahead can solve such mysteries, so I'll leave it at that. Episode as a whole was a great payoff to this arc. And heck we got that full bonfire dance too which Touma just briefed about in Index 2. Good for shippers, but I'm glad Kuroko interrupted;) |

10:56 Kongou's boobies are impressive! I want to caress them! 14:58 I never doubted a cutie like Misaki since day one, unlike most people here. I knew she was doing the right things in her way. I can relate to a Chaotic Neutral even though I'm a Neutral Evil. The visuals in this show are impressive compared to Index. I wonder why JC Staff wouldn't put the same effort into the other show. Gunha & Touma are the "weakest" in their tier, yet their powers are special enough that they could be stronger than they seem. That's why Saten is the 2nd best girl in the show! I need more Touma & Misaka moments. They're hilarious together. |

My TouMAN is always badass in Railgun and LN. Guts is also awesome. And Misaka is 💓💓💓 I hope JC Staff will make Railgun F soon. Waiting for the fight between Shundan Kimi and Biribiri. |
