sometimes i look at someone's watched an read list and see a few hunderd on both.
i myself still go to school and between going to school , homework , talking to friends and sleeping i haven't got so much time
and most people do things like this ,right? if it's work or school or college or something and everybody has got to sleep so how do people find the time to watch a few hunderd anime and read a few hundered manga
and just overall how do people find time to watch anime that's kinda interessting isn't it

just to say this i don't think people who have watched so many anime and read so many manga are worse or better than others

Most anime are under 20 mins long and they come out once a week, so the real question is how don't you have time for it? Especially being in school. Also I'd imagine people with 100s of shows on their profile (like myself) accumulated those over a fairly long period of time.. or at least I hope they did..

Well, some people watch anime for years, so it's not surprising when some of them eventually reach 4 digits

Most people have watched anime for several years and build up their list that way.
But if you want to watch more anime then you just have to find the spare time for it. And if you don't have that much spare time then you have to make watching anime a priority if you really want to watch a lot.

Watching 2-6 eps a day shouldn't be a big problem for most people and after a few years your list can get pretty big. As for me, anime&manga is pretty much my only serious hobby so I just spend most of my free time watching/reading (even though I don't have much free time either).

I watch at least one episode of anime every day. At work, I watch an episode during lunch time. Surprisingly, watching one episode a day racks up quickly. So that averages around 2 12-episode series or 1 24-26-episode series a month. This might double or triple depending if you follow seasonal anime or if you watch more than one series at a time. From the beginning of this year to today, I have completed 40 anime.

But honestly, just watch at your own pace. When you find an anime that really engages you, you tend to finish it faster than you think.

Talking to friends... That's your problem.

Give up your friends and a whole new world worth of free time will open up to you XD

> how do find the time to watch so many anime
That's simple.
1) Have anime as a primary hobby
2) Continue for a few years.
Say, if you have two days off per week, and watch a 12-episode anime every day off, that would be 100 titles per year.
You can boost your number of titles by watching hentai OVA on weekdays. Most would not take more than a week, so that makes 150 titles per year.

Also, not everybody here has so much friends talking to them counts as a part of schedule.

Some people watch one episode and go the next one, that's how they reach to have more than 40 currently watching anime, because I think that's a big number considering the number of new anime every season.
Keep watching many years, that's the only good advice I can give you.

Well, you need a katana collection and a kawaii body pillow.
Also, you must live in your mom's house and be at least 32!

Just watch when you feel like you wanna watch some anime and in your spare time. Don't force yourself to watch it nor waste your social life because of it. Anime is just a hobby, don't dwell on it too much.

When I was in high school, I significantly lowered my GPA to a 2.00 GPA, I had no friends, barely did any homework, hell I barely showed up to class. My rest time was also no more than 6 hours. Anime takes dedication, and this is the bare minimum you have to sacrifice to watch it.

It isn't too hard, especially when you get used to doing it everyday. I watch anime everyday and don't really regret it.

I just think you need to decide if anime is important enough to you to give up time for it!

It only becomes difficult for me during exam season- then I have to completely starve myself of anime until the hell is over.
I'm a serial last minute crammer though, so I usually only miss out for a month tops.
It's also easier to fit anime in if I'm watching them as they air...a few 25 minute episodes a week isn't gonna put me massively behind, even if I do have other stuff (coursework, exams, work etc) going on.

Basically, I just make the time.
It's all about compromise!

I'll usually wait until holidays to marathon really long series though, otherwise I'd never finish them jk I'd prolly be tempted to skip out lectures and that's never good

You start at a young age. Many anime from my list are childhood anime. ^^

For seasonals: one episode a week is okay and I usually watch 1-5 seasonal anime. Depends on the seasons.

For old(er) anime I want to watch: I rarely watch TV anymore. Just shows I really want to watch or mostly DVDs, if we speak of movies.

Well, how long have you been watching anime? I don't know about you, but I've been going at it for half a decade.

And some people spend their time playing games, playing sports, playing music, do other pretty cool stuff, we (well, I like to this is a collective) spent our time watching anime, and still do. Which is why we are able to watch so many.

That's like us looking at people who have won 1000 games on League of Legends, Overwatch, Dota2, or 2000 hours on CS:GO, Skyrim, etc, it's just basically where you spend your time.

You could be spending 5 hours on facebook for all I know, but what I do know, is that is worth a whole series watching time. Standard run time of a series is about 5.2 hours for a 13 episode series.

So spend a little more time on anime over the rest of the year, and see how many anime you get around to watching.

Grind harder comrade, you just have to do things more efficiently.
Often that means doing something else while watching anime, like cleaning, eating, etc..
Small things like that add up and allow you to utilize your time better.

If I really wanted, I could marathon an anime during a day I don't have anything to do, but I think I've only done that once (and I didn't even finish it). I prefer to watch anime slowly, except for those that make me want to know so badly what happens on the next episode that drive me to watch around 5 or 6 on a row. If not, I normally don't pass from one-three episodes every one-two days.

Well as someone who has watched really a ton and started reading more too, I can only say that if you're really interested in watching a lot, you will find a way to do this efficiently. For manga it's a bit harder to read more, but I think if you read them online, reading a chapter on only one page saves a lot of time.

Also, I manage fine to find time for many anime despite of school, work, studying and friends. You just have to do everything efficiently. Or otherwise, you will at some point study less.
Just enjoy the really good shows/manga, like Berserk :P

P.S. Unlike many others who started watching anime early, I only started around 6-8 years ago. So don't worry if you're new to the scene, just watch the anime you like and everything will work out fine.

Don't try to do it all at once, just take your time and your list will build up over time. The important thing is to make sure that your watching/reading stuff you enjoy, don't force it and it won't seem like a chore. You will notice that your list looks like those ones in no time.

Even when I'm doing a full time job, if work is not busy I can easily watch 1-2 eps on my phone during lunch time and do 1-4 episodes after work daily if I wanted to. If I'm at home all day on one of my days off I can marathon many episodes of anime at once. It's feasible to do even with your regular schedule of hanging out with your friends, going to work, eating, sleeping etc.
