I’m so happy to see YOI selling 35k copies in its first week, actually I wanted it to sell 50k copies but I guess sport anime can’t sell this huge compares to Idol anime. Anyway, God, thanks for making my wish come true. I would like to buy it but I’m not a fan of collecting anime in Japanese, so I should wait 2-3 years for Funimation to release it. :D And I'm so happy to announce that Yuri on ice!!! is the most sold sport anime for Vol.1. I'm sure it's going to beat Free! Both seasons. Now I’m curious Utapri sales. B-Project is selling lesser and lesser wtf. Well, I’m bit sad. @tsubasalover double post for blu-ray? |

daggerswithroses said: Well yeah but that's not what we're talking about here. We're talking about which series sold how much during a specific 12-month period. Has nothing to do with when they aired. If a 2014 show suddenly sold a ton during 2016 for whatever reason it'll still be listed under 2016 sales even if it's a 2014 anime, etcetera. Same with long-running shows like One PieceHaXXspetten said: daggerswithroses said: seiyuuu said: eXtacy67 said: I'm pretty sure I remember some awful looking shots in the 2nd ep. Im sure this whole thing might spawn a new trend to pump out lots of fujoshi bait, seeing how this sold so much, which even the most hyped shows can hardly compete. This is pure profit what the studios were aiming for all these years It'll join forces alongside cgdct shows, stuck in a game shows and all dat shiz |

It's too bad it wasn't officially subtitled "Yuuri on Ice" in the marketing and packaging. That likely would have reduced the confusion. It is a long 'u' in Japanese but they chose to shorten it like Yuki Aoi usually does with her name when written in romaji. Honestly I quite enjoyed Yu(u)ri on Ice! It was a lot of fun! Not a show I'd buy but having actually watched it, there's no way it would have worked with a female cast. Would not have worked at all. I've heard rumors of Kubo sensei working on a yuri story though (not Yuuri). She doesn't like het relationships. So yuri fans may get their wish too. |
