| Every studio has their bad anime. Madhouse had Mahou Sensou and Mahouka just one season apart in 2014, for instance. While Mahouka's quality is polarizing, I think most will agree that Mahou Sensou is just... well, a terrible anime, and that was by Madhouse. I'm sure there are a lot more, but I've not seen seen them personally. A studio with so many titles is bound to have its black sheep(s). |
| Lots of "good anime" from madhouse have their quality coming from the source material rather than from the anime itself. As an anime studio they aren't that great ImO. Lots of blunders, and the like. Look at what happens when the source isn't good : you get the disaster that is Mahou sensou. A source that was already doubtful to be good rushed so much that it became a ridiculously incomprehensible train-wreck. Ironically Madhouse fanboys will always dismiss cases such as mahou sensou saying it's the fault of the source material and only of the source material, but will still praise Madhouse as being responsible when they adapt good source material. Suddenly when the anime is good, the source material isn't responsible for it being good. it's only when it's bad. That's so cute. Don't get me wrong , they REALLY did very good stuff tho. But they did a shit tons of anime, so that's to be expected, in a way. Madhouse's anime currently airing (Alderamin) has ALL of its strength coming from the original material. ALL of it. And all of what peoples complain about comes from the anime. |

I think they knew there wasn't much value in the work so when adapting it they just made it a rushed commercial and ended it there. I haven't watched Alderamin yet, but doesn't that still mean they managed to translate it over to the anime medium without taking away anything from the source? Or do you mean that the only good things about it are what was retained from the source? Plenty of studios take away good things from the source, so keeping the good parts from being lost when moving into a different medium and thus (usually) making those strong parts work in this new medium is enough for me to call a studio good. I agree with you that you should never generalize or avoid acknowledging failures the way some people do though, don't get me wrong. How've you been btw? |

| I think OVERLORD is the worst anime that MAD HOUSE, it have very weak and generic story. But Mad house is my favorite production house,I always anticipating an masterpiece form Mad house ,most of my favorite anime like death note,hunter x hunter,Parasyte,monster,wolf children,no game no life,....are from Mad house. |

Tatami Galaxy is the only thing I've seen from them that didn't do that, cause not only does Tatami have a bunch of awesome shit about it, I heard that it's actually different from the novel(correct me if I'm wrong.) I'm hoping that the Satoshi Kon stuff is going to be as good as Wolf Children was, so they would atleast make good movies. Anyways, Madhouse is overr8, praise Gainax. |

| They're animes are not bad but their typical 12 ep animes are what gives them the bad image, thats why people when seeing a new madhouse anime dont expect it to have a good long story. |

When you have so many anime/VO roles there will always be garbage in your resume (everyone needs to make a living and sometimes you can't push the boat out and take chances) But still the overall bulk of Madhouse's work leans more towards quality than crap. |
