I know, I just can't picture JoJo doing that. Unless of course, he does it in a way that makes him looks really badass.

Stardust Crusaders 2nd season has been a complete dissapointment. Iggy is an annoying shit. This episode is quite literally the worst jojo episode I've watched and the most boring episode of any show I've watched this year.

Disappointment? 3 episodes and you've already lost your patience, c'mon man!

Surprised that the majority liked this episode. I thought it was pretty bland, and predictable, like I was watching an American cartooon made for kids.

Really pointless to the story, so yeah they are filler like villains.

They actually aren't pointless to the story.

I would explain this a bit more, but then I'd be spoiling a later episode.

This episode was about "filler" as most others. Very few of the villains have a direct impact on arc 3's thin plot. As for your other comment, I think something's to be said for the catch all phrase "good execution". Yeah it's definitely reminiscent of silly Loony Toons fare, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. A refreshing change of pace with good music to compliment the humor. There's also stuff like bizarre facial expressions, Polnareff's unintentional ribbing, and the ridiculous comic book art that got me. Also dug the alternate outtro, it's like DP new how much fans were waiting for this and threw everything they had at it. Kinda makes me hopeful for other fan favorite moments

I love how Dio chose his stand users in Egypt based on the Egyptian Gods theme as opposed to the strengths of the stand users lol. The villains gotta have style right?

To be fair, they were probably local stand users so it was convenient to have them around.

Hah. I'm just amused at all the moronic complaints you manage to pull out of your ass. Part 3 is actually my least favourite of the series, but even I can't help but laugh seeing you try to articulate and miserably fail your half assed and non existent flaws you have with the show.

Complaining about Jotaro-I understand. Complaining about the transparent and repetitive nature of the part-I understand. Complain about the fact that nearly all the villains have been filler villains-I understand. But getting offended because of a stupid fart joke by a dog? Are you nine or something? The idiocy in your posts speaks for itself.

They mean they are not important, used to prolong and pad the story. They don't mean the non canon definition of filler.

It's really an unfortunate misconception that filler only means something is non-canonical.

It seems to me though that Part 3 is the only Part that suffers from this issue. I won't sugarcoat it, because while I do love Jojo, Part 3 is my least favorite part given that there are times where it feels like there isn't any direction. In the grander scheme of things, though, a lot of these small arcs that seem pointless bring subtle pieces of character development. It seems like Araki was really dedicated to using all of the Tarot and Egyptian God Stands which in turn made Stardust Crusaders have arcs that seem like filler, because it seemed forced. I didn't find that Parts 4-6 suffered from this filler issue as much. Part 4 had a couple of arcs that seemed oddly placed, but the dynamic cast counteracted that well.

Yeah. Those Parts had far more interesting casts. Not to take a way from what Stardust Crusaders has, but the subsequent Parts did pretty much everything better.

Part 1 - They fight random enemies until Dio
Part 2 - They fight random enemies until Kars
Part 3 - They fight random enemies until DIO

All with mini-arcs along the way, but 90% of all villains are motw in every part. If people don't like part 3 that's all good, but pretending that it's the only one that "suffers" from an "issue" is very silly. All of them have the same structure. Some are more entertaining than others for different reasons, but the reason has nothing to do with "filler villains" or whatever, because every part is the same formula.

I think you're understanding my point wrong. I recognize that this is how Jojo is set up from Part 1, and I love the way it is set up. I wouldn't be so invested in it if I didn't like it. I'm more of saying that Part 3's sub-villains at times, more noticeably than others, seem unrelated, and the story seems to lose its direction. I don't dislike or hate Part 3 in the least bit, I love do love it, it just happens to be the Part I have the most issues with (which I would say lightly, considering I gave Part 3 a 9/10).

That's what I thought you were saying, and I don't think it's an accurate assessment at all. This whole topic is a pet peeve of mine, so I apologize if I seem to be going overboard. But

tl;dr Jojo is not about the story and is just about cool characters fighting each other, it's senseless to pin dissatisfaction with a part on "the fights not being relevant".

Well I'd just like to say, I'm not dissatisfied with Part 3 at all. If I pulled it out of context from the rest of Jojo, I'd still consider it a great piece of fiction and a sure favorite. In the context of other Jojo as a whole, Part 3 just seems the weakest. It doesn't resonate with me as much as the others. But I can still consider it great - it does everything the other Parts do, it's fun, unique, interesting, and well written. I like that there's a lot of focus put on the characters, and how they interact with different situations, on top of really interesting overarching plots and villains.

I'm a very strong believer of purpose in writing, that a good writer does everything with some purpose in mind. And with Jojo, that's the case, I generally do see some sort of subtle piece of character development in all of these tiny arcs that add something, based on the way a character interacts with the situation. With Part 3, I just find it more difficult to find that compared to later installments.

I don't mean to question your judgement on whether or not part 3 is good/bad. You could call it shit and I would be okay with that. Discussion regarding the comparison of strength/weakness of each part is fun, and naturally people will have favorites/least favorites.

But what irks me is when people say it's bad specifically because it's "too motw" or something along those lines. It just makes no sense. If someone doesn't like the setting, characters, stands, Dio, etc, those are legitimate complaints. I can see reason behind what you say with character development based on situation being lacking in part 3 (although I disagree), but this has nothing to do with "unimportant filler villains" or whatnot. It's not like other parts have intricate plots and SC is hugely deficient anyway, 1-6 are all super basic (which I think is ultimately a good thing, as it allows the series to never get up its own ass and deliver extremely satisfying action left and right).

Oh I totally agree that it's annoying when people complain the series is "too motw." I really hate to say unimportant or filler, as I think those two words carry negative connotations. I think a lot of where I'm getting this feeling is the set up of the anime for this episode specifically, it seems a bit out of place between Geb and Anubis. In the manga, it seemed to flow a lot better. The anime has (for me) managed to isolate some of the arcs/fights and make them seem unimportant, something I've yet to get from the manga.

But I really do hate to say unimportant, because while I get this feel occasionally, I don't think Araki ever does something without a purpose in mind.

I like Stardust Crusaders, but it is a bit MotW though.

I mean, of the Stand fights that have happened so far, the ones that have contributed to the overall narrative are:

* Star Platinum vs. Magician's Red (Introduction of Stands)
* SP vs. Hierophant Green (Introduction of Kakyoin)
* HG vs. Tower of Grey (Explains why they can't just take a vehicle to Egypt.)
* MR vs. Silver Chariot (Introduction of Polnareff)
* SC vs. Hanged Man (Polnareff sub-plot)
* SP vs. Justice (Polnareff sub-plot)
* HG/SC vs. Lovers (Only for Enya's death)
* MR vs. Judgment (Avdol's Return)
* SP vs. Geb (Iggy Introduction)

I'm glad I'm not the only one who felt this episode was too "cartoonish." The brother not dying from the explosion also felt silly.

Also, found it pretty annoying how they made Joseph and Polnareff seem like complete idiots for the sake of comedy. Was hoping they knew he was a fake all along and they were just screwing with him but unfortunately that wasn't the case.

That was a surprisingly comedic episode~ Boingo's laugh was w-weird.

JoJo got a hat extension! xD It's a miracle that the team was dense enough to not notice that. And without the right attire, Oingo's Stand is practically useless in most situations.

Jotaro actually did the cigarette thing with 5 sticks, seeing that they never found out about the brothers in the first place :o

I guess that the explosion was just dangerous enough to undo the transformation forcibly.

The brothers got beaten up. They tried to kill JoJo and friends, so no cookies for the two. Very catchy ED though, even with the creepy visuals <3
