THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
Well I am certainly not happy how things are turning out.
This is totally unbelievable of how things progressed. I need a cigarette. Certainly it was a very hard episode not only with beginning but especially realize many notions of rather coined value in regards to evil. I will just name it Satan commonly known as Watase in this series. Why is Watase known as Satan? Simply with the following,
1bb4d3e0.jpg
Being the one that the black bunnies serve it undeniable that he is that person since those 2 bunnies help out people to betray God in exchange for something that will help them only in thee end to get a curse on generations of them. I think the real message here is that we pay for what we do for generations. It may go as far Japan losing war and all the generations paying for it. It could be. The messages of the author are insane. The multitude of them are in the 10s or more possible lessons.

For example the new ED may be amazing but did you think of what the following means?
8b71543a.jpg
Perhaps not but even myself find it complex. I interpret as the light hand being that of God tending trying to reach but the black hand is obvious that oh wait! Wait! I Satan (evil) an right here! Ready to offer! In this saying a struggle of Good VS Evil with good being in the distance and evil offering constantly. It is obvious that both hands tend to Himari’s red string of fate. So this is insane of the amplitude that philosophy and messages have surfaced in this episode. The meaning of that pic itself is multitidal. In so the message this anime is giving cannot be denied anymore. There is one for sure. More later.

Another interesting is that the parents may be framed here. The proof is quite simple from episode 12. Look at the person here and the person he is looking at here. Now it’s obviosu they look the same right? So the one who was not framed was most likely the other one looking like Himari’s fatehr but the other one may be the doctor itself.

I am just going to blurt out the “Twins Theory” I think that Himari’s father and Ringo’s father were twins. Both worked for the same group of penguin and perhaps not in the same divions but same company. Oen day they had to do a job that is nasty in thee end one had to take the blame while the other was most likely so not ready for his own daughter to have died of the result of his job.

More thoughts as I watch this again.

For one I think that Kenzan made a deal with Watase to perhaps save her wife because she may have died in childbirth. Furthermore that would explain why both were paying for that gesture of whom IMO it has something to do with the red liquid. It would also explain the heavier price. What they did may = to inflicting pain which may = to what a devil/evil wants for a price. Mass pain to people.

If it's not that then it could be something to do with saving Himari that night. Then that can enchain into why the Goddess would be angry that her punishment was not executed and thus sends off more curses and troubles towards the whole family. Just some thoughts going around again and I may forget them later on.Bear in mind this all speculations at best. If I am right then it becomes to into account.

Yumekichi11 ... give me back my sanity!
At this rate the episode itself brain burned me. There is no true meaning. There are many that intermingle with variations within them that spur out others. Just that ED pic has 10 of them.

I know this might get deleted but once things settle I will post my stitches. I do think that looking at things as a whole instead of what animes present us as scrolls or bits by bits. I think this what makes the ED amazing as follows,
8ab82d1e.jpgef262594.jpg
along with stars and red thread. Despite the damn credits, this will be amazing with a clean edition of this ED but that is only on BDs/DVDs. Damn! Have to wait it out.

And so... Himari (and Momoka) is dead.
Mawaru Penguindrum is the fight of love against death.
A try to surpass the "destination of fate", the "destine of all living beans" also know as "Death" and bring back the people you love, people that "don't deserve to die", by your love.

The reason that the heart of Kanba was used as a Penguindrum is because the Penguindrum itself is Love. [color=red]The Princess of the Crystal probably is Momoke[/color, trying to give to Tabuki, the one she loves utmost, the symbol of their love. Their children.

I start to think the "Super Frog" is gonna show with the Penguimdrum.

Read "Super-Frog Saves Tokyo" here -> http://www.geocities.jp/yoshio_osakabe/Haruki/Books/Super-Frog.html

So Himari survives. I wonder what the price Kanba is paying.

Sanetoshi's weird segment makes me think that Momoka isn't alive anymore, rather, she's the spirit in the hat, trying to prove Sanetoshi wrong or something by getting the Penguindrum.

Apparently Natsume made a similar deal with Sanetoshi to save Mario (who's in Mario's hat I wonder). I wonder if that's what the beginning of ep 12 showed, the person who died and came back to life during Sanetoshi's monologue before the opening was Mario

I could be wrong, but I get the feeling that Momoka and Princess of Crystal are two different entities. The fact that Momoka would inherently possess either her mother's brown eyes or her father's blue ones suggest that she can't be the pink-eyed princess. But if they're indeed the same person and the diary is a mean for Momoka to get her memories/physical form/some sort of super power back, then who's possessing Mario? It would be too farfetched if Momoka's soul is split in two and she's in constant conflict with her other half confined in the other hat.

As expected. Himari lives.
Sanetoshi is somewhat connected to Momoka since he's actually referring to her as his own kind.
Still curious about those apples though.

Oh, and the new ED is simple but hot. :D

Gorgeous new ED. Reminds me a bit of that one Durarara!! ED with all the characters touching in a vertical scroll, which I loved, too.

This episode was a typical Ikuhara mindf*ck - it will only make sense in retrospect of the entire series, when it's concluded.

Still, regardless of his morality, I love Sanetoshi-sensei. Seems like he's playing all sides of the chess board, pitting the Takakura brothers against Masako Natsume.

Creepy. So Himari lives so that the punishing can continue? There's so much symbolism and references to ancient mythology in this second half.

Btw how the heck is still a mystery the way Kanba makes so much money? Is he a mafioso or gangster leader?

This is fucking incredible. It's pretty awesome how Kanba and Ringo's narrations from the beginning of the series are coming back with an almost entirely different way of thinking about them. Loved Sanetoshi's monologue halfway through the episode as well, Ikuhara sure does know how to craft a fascinating "villain".

Is it being implied that Kanba prostitutes himself in order to pay for the rent?

THere's a lot I don't understand, but i'm really digging this series. Good stuff.

The organisation that kanba's parents work in. Look at the symbol. Now look at the mysterious guy handing Kanba money.

The troll is whoever translated that. In the version I watched the translation was "What, you don't like that answer?", which i'm assuming is slightly more accurate.

Reading this thread made me feel like I'm not getting ANYTHING about the show.

Who is "Princess of Crystal"? "Momoka" is the pink haired girl in the library with Sanetoshi, right? Also I think this hasn't been revealed yet but what exactly is Sanetoshi? I thought the library was like some kind of after-life realm since both Himari and Momoka were dead when they were there, does that mean Sanetoshi is some sort of god? I also think this is true since last ep when he was talking with Kanba, only Kanba saw him.

From what I've been getting Sanetoshi controls destiny, made the penguin hats, the penguins and the apples. There's some sort of organization or I don't know what with the penguin logos, I don't know what that's about but it's under Sanetoshi's control. He chose Himari and Mario since Kanba, Shouma and Masako refuse to let go of them, but he's fucking with them since he thinks you can't change destiny.

I have no idea, feel free to correct me.

P.D: New ED is beautiful.

The new ED song is very touching, I loved how it was used in some of the previous episodes.

There're also far more questions than answers to them. Himari's negative heartbeat (???), Sanetoshi's nature, his bunnies and relationships with Momoka (her existence is pretty ambiguous so far), and so many other things. By the way, I listened to the voice of the Goddess several times and I have a feeling that her voice is very similar to Yuri's. We'll see if this speculation is true later.

P.S. The cats symbolism in the frog park was a bit too complicated for me this time. As well as all the references to Haruki Murakami, although I get the general idea after reading some discussions there and doing a little research myself.

The fact is we dont know shit until now. Is strong the feeling that everything "revealed" is just there to mislead us.

What we know, so far:

- Ringo finally become a bit more sane after all. Basically the 1st half of the anime was "the adventures of a crazy stalker bitch", but now we hope it is solved.

- The Takakura's parents were terrorists. But what really hapenned and why is still mistery and probably will have some role in the end.

- The pink hair guy (*in*sanetoshi) don't like the fuc*king "Fate".

- Momoka-chan's body disapeared in the incident.

As confusing as digesting this series is, at least I know now why Ringo is the way she is. Her belief in fate convinces her to take her late sister's place since she's the reincarnation or something. It was just exaggerated for catching attention early on
