Is it just me or does anybody here pause an anime to look/try to solve the math problems that a character is trying to solve in like school anime?

Yeah I do it too. It's fun to solve them. And then I feel like a genius when I succeed in solving them.

Not technically anime, but:

After you enjoy the translated captions, look in the comments for Saphyr's comment. It's worth it.

Not just with math, whenever they have something written on the board/in the notebook, i try to read them for the possible laughs. But i'm definitely guilty of trying to solve math problems.

Oh wow math in anime? I must check this out now.

Sadly the only ones I remember are the tic-tac-toe in NGNL and the prime number listing in GochiUsa. Anything else was probably basic arithmetic/logic involving small numbers which is forgettable.

I mean I hear people solve the math problems appearing in the background of the clips they watch on Pornhub then post solutions or corrections on the comment section. Wouldn't surprise me if there are a lot more of these guys.

Same. Just like Donald Trump, since he's a very stable genius god with an IQ of infinity. At least that's what he tells us, so it must be true, right?

romance in anime doesn't make sense. Therefore, math in anime won't make sense. However, a contradiction that was made is that oppai physics always makes sense.

Wait, they actually put math problems on the board? Not just random letters and numbers to fill in space?

Yes, occasionally they actually put valid math problems.
But I never try to solve them. I am just trying to figure out whether math in Japan schools is that tough, or the authors are making fun of us. Because the math is usually not appropriate to whatever grade the characters are supposed to be in.

I can relate. I've never tried to solve them, partly because I don't pay attention to the math board, but also because it looks like some foreign language (sometimes it is since it's Japanese). If I looked at the board now and tried to solve it, I'd probably feel stupid as I'd have no idea where to start. Funny because math is my favorite subject in real life and I greatly enjoy doing it.

Nope, even though I do at least find some enjoyment from solving Math problems. I wouldn't just pause a show to do some that would be some weirdly specific OCD.

I missed the Navier-Stokes stuff in NGNL (I dropped the show at episode 4).

Anyway... no, I almost never stop the video for math problems.

Not really. I watch anime to relax, doing more math problems isn't enjoyment for me.

I cringe when maths is used in anime sometimes. In nge, they used numbers like 0.00001% chance of success, that just seems like they are just making a lazy attempt to show viewers that the task is impossible and build tension.

I like to measure BUST, WAIST & HIP. It's difficult when they hide their bodies with different tricks, like wearing dresses.
I then compare & check my answer with others.

Just kidding! I do try it.
