| Oh wow math in anime? I must check this out now. Sadly the only ones I remember are the tic-tac-toe in NGNL and the prime number listing in GochiUsa. Anything else was probably basic arithmetic/logic involving small numbers which is forgettable. |

But I never try to solve them. I am just trying to figure out whether math in Japan schools is that tough, or the authors are making fun of us. Because the math is usually not appropriate to whatever grade the characters are supposed to be in. |

I've never tried to solve them, partly because I don't pay attention to the math board, but also because it looks like some foreign language (sometimes it is since it's Japanese). If I looked at the board now and tried to solve it, I'd probably feel stupid as I'd have no idea where to start. Funny because math is my favorite subject in real life and I greatly enjoy doing it. |

| Not really. I watch anime to relax, doing more math problems isn't enjoyment for me. I cringe when maths is used in anime sometimes. In nge, they used numbers like 0.00001% chance of success, that just seems like they are just making a lazy attempt to show viewers that the task is impossible and build tension. |
