Well, yes, the whole song is essentially about how you enter adulthood, looking back on your childhood.

The video doesn't follow the "Blue Box story" directly, but it fully conveys the meaning of the ending lyrics about the entry of yesterday's children into adulthood. I can understand why some people would sexualize the animation, but overall it's more about wishful thinking and not understanding the message of the show or song.

@Shadere

hi! I cannot comment back because we're not friends and I can't add you, nor can I send this message.

Anyway, K-On! popularised the CGDCT genre. I didn't exactly enjoy it, but I suppose it's an important anime because other people I know rave about it more than a decade after it aired.

For better or worse, some people refer to it as a foundational moe anime: https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/fpfewy/unoriginal_opinion_kon_is_the_foundational_moe/

It is mostly of historical interest. I enjoyed more Girls und Panzer, which is CGDCT with tanks with the similar moe designs.

K-on can be mindless fun. It's is mostly plotless. I understand that it's all about their relationships.

But if you're pressed for time, it might feel like a waste of time.

What in your eyes makes K-on "A must watch for the mediums history" ?
