Ore, Twintail ni Narimasu.

Twintails: the glory of all mankind—or at least that is what first-year high school student Souji Mitsuka believes. At school, Souji spends most of his time daydreaming and rating girls' twintails, even going as far as creating a club dedicated to the hairstyle. His obsession does not go unnoticed, however; when monsters from outer space attack Earth and claim the world's twintails for themselves, a strange woman named Twoearle enlists Souji to fight back using twintails of his own!

By transforming into the twin-tailed warrior Tail Red, Souji combats the vicious alien organization known as Ultimegil, whose main goal is to colonize Earth and steal everyone's spiritual energy, or "attribute power." Alongside fellow twin-tailed fighters Aika Tsube and Erina Shindou, Souji must find a way to defeat the invading army and defend the twintails he holds so dear.

God, this anime is a wild one. Anything and everything about this anime is so random I love it. I really didn't expect to like it as much as I did. This anime is so serious with its premise and plotlines, you can't help but be confused and laugh it off. However, it's also self-aware and sarcastic as well.

The story aspect in this anime is very straightforward. There isn't much to it, but that simplicity gives this anime strength. It's what you'd expect: a worldwide threat emerges, a hero is born, forces are created, and things go off from there. In a way, it really ... reminds me of Power Rangers, with how abstract and straightforward everything is. The boldest part of the entire story, however, is the attributes of the world. It feels like this anime is being sarcastic to the point where it's not sarcastic. It's so random and abstract, I couldn't help but enjoy every second of it. This anime has given me a new appreciation of twin tails.

The characters are this anime's strong point. Our main cast is a bunch of wild cards that wouldn't seem to work well off each other, but you'd be surprised. From a boy with an obsession with the twin tails hairstyle that gender bends to a busty alien woman with a perverted mind, all the way to a tiny girl who is somewhat a masochist, this anime somehow has it all. Even the one-off enemies and their designs and "interests" all have their charms. However, sometimes they do feel a bit bland at times, but this is rare.

The animation is iffy. When it comes to fighting scenes, it's well done. Everything moves so smoothly and the fights are bold and interesting. However, there is an absurd amount of animation reuse, but from an anime of its time, this is to be expected. The normal everyday scenes and such are less quality, however. This is most obvious with their faces. Whenever a character is talking or the camera shows their face, the face sometimes looks so blown out of proportion (especially the eyes). This isn't hard to spot either, as it is unfortunately rather common throughout the episodes. Overall, the animation is lower than quality, but this anime doesn't take itself as seriously, so it's passable.

Overall, an unexpectedly entertaining anime. This anime is purely just dumb fun with glorified seriousness, and that's all it is. If you go in expecting more than that, you'll be extremely disappointed. The main purpose is really just to entertain and give you a small break from your normal anime. I enjoyed this, and I recommend you give this a watch (even though it's most likely not for everyone).

An esoteric examination of man's imprisonment within the complex web of desires propagated by the innate tendency for self-consumption, documented through the lens of Japanese otaku culture's exacerbation of the suffering in a psychological and sociological level.

Gibberish aside, Gonna be the Twin-Tail!! is humorous when being faithful to the satirical act of degeneration and comedic fetish (or in less unseemly terms, "particular fancy"), cosplaying as a debauched circus play while putting into the spotlight the many niche penchants of its characters and indiscriminately subjecting them to the harsh glare of comical treatment. It becomes self-destructive, poetically like desires themselves, when indulging in flamboyant perverseness ... that leaves the realm of identifiable satire and closes in on trope-y behavior, something I thought it deemed to veer away solely by its straight-faced delivery of a heroic saga of twin-tailed power rangers saving the fate of the world through the power of twin-tails. The student council president was a huge cause for sore eyes and ear damage. Kudos to the heroine of humiliating degradation for singlehandedly bringing down the entire series.

This chaotic mix-and-match of fetishes and gender-bending and harem romance and superpower fantasy is a strong reminder of weeb humor (truly a category of its own), which can either induce a firework of laughter from a self-aware viewer or further repulse an unfortunate bystander.

You know when you say you're an anime fan and everyone stares at you like a loser? Well animes like this are the very reason why they do that. This anime fits that weird creepy stereotype that the casual person would think. It obviously isn't sexually explicit but still has innuendos that would suggest so. Even the villains are like this.

The show is based on this obsession with twin tails and how it magically leads to a battle with monsters who thrive off this obsession in which they become little heroines fighting. It sounds bad enough already but it devolved into obsession into other things ... like dolls, boobs, glasses etc. These weird fetishes all make the show uncomfortable and downright obnoxious. The action is fine though and sure it's wholesome and has somewhat likeable main characters but this shouldn't even be anyone's choice of watching. I really only forced myself because I watched it as a kid and hate leaving shows unfinished.
