Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!

After dying a laughable and pathetic death on his way back from buying a game, high school student and recluse Kazuma Satou finds himself sitting before a beautiful but obnoxious goddess named Aqua. She provides the NEET with two options: continue on to heaven or reincarnate in every gamer's dream—a real fantasy world! Choosing to start a new life, Kazuma is quickly tasked with defeating a Demon King who is terrorizing villages. But before he goes, he can choose one item of any kind to aid him in his quest, and the future hero selects Aqua. But Kazuma has made a grave mistake—Aqua is completely useless!

Unfortunately, their troubles don't end here; it turns out that living in such a world is far different from how it plays out in a game. Instead of going on a thrilling adventure, the duo must first work to pay for their living expenses. Indeed, their misfortunes have only just begun!

Konosuba, or how to NEVER underestimate the power of Pixiv and the erotic fanart available on their site!
Why, you ask? because before browsing through that site and finding hardcore fanart of the three main ladies of this show (and I mean a LOT of fanart) which not only made them appealing to me as waifu material but also made me learn LITERALLY IN SECONDS their names I had no idea what this series even was, since apparently this falls under the line of the isekai Genre and, except for the awful Aura Battler Dunbine and Escaflowne (which I watched back in the early 2000's), I ... was never interested in experiencing the genre due to its association with the thing that, at least for me, killed one of my most beloved PC gaming companies (Blizzard Entertainment) and my eternal hate bone even years after stopping videogaming, World of Warcraft and MMORPGs in general. Unfortunately, my first try with it was not the best since, again, I had wrong reminescences of World of Warcraft by watching the first two episodes and I couldn't stomach it. Time passes, I watch other shows as good as this one inbetween sporting several talented singers and seiyuus of this show like Kamen Rider Build - with a guest appareance of Sora Amamiya - and Mahoutsukai Precure - with Yui Horie and Rie Takahashi (the last to whom I must apologize for my online comments regarding her appareance at Lucca Comics and Games) - , the erotic fanart on pixiv concerning Aqua, Darkness and Megumin keeps on titilating me and making me desire to keep them as my own waifus, and so I decide to give again a try, and it ends with me being entertained by this show not just in terms of sex appeal of the three main ladies but also in terms of genuine fun, with situations akin more to my experience of years and years ago with the likes of single player fantasy RPGs/ARPGs/RTSes like Neverwinter Nights, The Elder Scrolls: Morrowind and Oblivion, Dungeon Siege 1 and 2, Warcraft III The Frozen Throne, Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magika Obscura, etc. etc. etc. than to MMORPG garbage. Situations that make a good, entertaining parody/homage to those games, which is appreciated. Also there's a lot of fanservice and sexual situations/innuendos that, again, I can't appreciate enough in a environment where apparently people (particularly, but not only, the redditor kind) has a problem with sexuality in conjunction to animes and tokusatsus, which is I N S A N E if you think one second about it. It's also not long, which is a breeze amongst my usual routine of 50-episodes anime and toku shows. All in all, highly recommended if you want to have fun with very good voice acting and OST and be reminded of the good old days while also being served several beautiful ladies titilating all your sexual tastes in the right way.
Immense thanks to Pixiv and their advertisement power, both for sexual content and not.
Oh and to the beforementioned bigoted people on the internet, my humble suggestion is to find another hobby other than watching animes or tokusatsus, an hobby more suited to you than this one.

Mixed Feelings

Konosuba is a silly comedy isekai, we follow Kasuma, a NEET loser who dies in the dumbest of ways, since he had a sad, shallow life he's allowed to reincarnate in a new world with a huge advantage to help him defeat the demon lord and his generals.

The animation is generally fine, although there's moments where you can notice a really sloppy job, but other scenes look like the entire budget went there. The characters are again generally fine, Aqua the goddess is very flawed: she's lazy, egocentric and cowardly, this along with her innate power makes her very interesting, same for Megumin who captures ... a girl adolescent quite well: Strong-willed, innocent, stubborn and playful, this along with her obsession with explosion magic makes her the best character in my opinion, she's relatable, well-written and powerful but with drawbacks. Our MC Kasuma is very perverted and self-centered but in the end he never abandons his allies, his schemes are also very entertaining.

Where it falls off is with Darkness, she's just a blank slate with no personality other than being obsessed with the idea of being raped and tortured, when she's on-screen everything revolves around how she's rabidly and uncontrollably salivating to the idea of being taken advantage of in the most creatively disgusting ways, it gets old really quickly. The surrounding secondary cast is somewhat interesting but filled with "unimportant girl with huge bouncing tits" types.

The pacing is odd, I feel like we're not seeing big chunks of the original story, we get developments like new characters introduced along with big story dumps, overall sometimes things feel rushed, but the story is able to maintain a constant stream of jokes and an entertaining plot, the story is this anime's strongest suit I would say, still very basic. The comedy is not the best, it usually revolves around fanservice, this is also one of those animes that insist on giving the audience creepshots up girl's skirts and chests, this includes girls that look very underage...

I really liked the cute, peaceful intros and songs with soft pretty visuals and a lovely sound design.
Even with all my criticisms I found this show funny with a mostly charming cast, but after seeing more, I can confidently say it doesn't get better than this.

I'm gonna be honest with you, I stayed away from this anime after seeing the Sylvia and orc girls scenes on Twitter. Only later to find out that it was from one of the movies, not the show. So I forced myself to watch the show. Normally, I would stay away from these types of anime since they're mainly uninteresting and use tropes I hate, but I decided to make an exception to see if my hatred for this show was justified or not. After watching this season, I can say with full confidence, my hatred for this anime is valid. However, while I do ... find a lot of it insufferable and unfunny, I will admit that, as a satire, it does a fine job, some of the jokes are funny even though I didn't laugh, and the chemistry between Kazuma and Megumin was cute. Besides that, I still don't like it and have no plans on re-visiting it. I'm just glad to be finished and to get all this out of my system.
