Yagami Kazuma was originally part of the Kannagi family, a respected family of fire users who have an affinity to fire; however, after being easily defeated by his cousin Ayano and having no talent whatsoever in fire magic, Kazuma is banished and cast out from his family. Four years later, Kazuma finally returns to Japan, this time as an exceptionally powerful wind user. A series of murders of Kannagi family members have occurred with his arrival. While most of the family, including Ayano, is convinced Kazuma is the culprit, he claims he isn't. These events begin an all-out war against the Kannagi family, with Kazuma and Ayano right in the middle of it.

Ah, with the wonderful story of Kaze no Stigma fresh in my mind, I believe now is the perfect time to write a review for how I wasted my day.

Story: 5
Well, the story, nothing special, but not too bad. Mediocre is the perfect word to describe it. I'm not going to go too in depth with it, but I had high hopes upon reading about an overpowered person who comes back to a family who disowned him. To me, sounded pretty good, so I gave it ago. A few flaws. Earliest flaw I noticed was the fights, which might just be me, but the fights read more

One of the most generic, predictable anime I've seen. Kaze no Stigma uses the slightly underused approach of magic users and ninja clans in modern times, but, surprisingly, it's not meant to be wacky or childish like other anime of its genre. This gave me high hopes, and I remember catching myself thinking, during the first few episodes "this will really have to take a turn for the worse to prevent me from finishing it".

After sitting through cliché episode after cliché episode, I finally dropped it. While I like the main hero, Yagami Kazuma, the heroin, Kannagi Ayano is what ruined the read more

A friend highly recommended Kaze no Stigma to me one day, so I finally got around to watching it. While it was entertaining, I was disappointed with the anime as a whole. It didn't match up to the high recommendation I had received. However, I do appreciate the fun, entertaining aspect.
Story: It was interesting, but not well done. Many things were highly predictable, but I do love the concept of element magic-users and whatnot.
Art: Fair art; some things did not flow well, and just in general, the art is simple. Not necessarily a bad thing, but I didn't enjoy all the fight scenes due read more

Kaze no Stigma has been brought up by me several times as one of my most despised anime, but I've never really had a chance to say why, partly because it came out during a time when light novel adaptations were considered good and any that actually weren't were purged from the collective hive mind that is anime fandom - barring the occasional fanboy who still tries to claim that Kazuma is someone that protagonists should look up to. I saw it during a time when Bakemonogatari was airing, so you can imagine it took a lot to make me hate something when I was read more

Anime: Shakugan no Shana
The main heroines wield a sword and have fire powers which they use to take care of supernatural creatures.

Anime: Darker than Black: Kuro no Keiyakusha
The main characters (Hei and Kazuma) are both contractors and the others also have some extra-ordinary powers which other people don't have. Than we also have the detective/police woman, in Darker than BLACK Misaki and in Kaze no Stigma Kirika. I think that Kaze no Stigma contains some more humour than Darker than BLACK but I enjoyed both of this series very much. Somehow I saw some things that were alike so I wanted to do this recommendation..

Anime: Seiken no Blacksmith
Both have strong willed female characters and alloof male characters, not wanting to have a part in the matters until they are forced to. Elements and swords are also involved, not to mention action scenes.

Anime: Hagure Yuusha no Aesthetica
The mains guys are both badasses ie extremely powerful

both shows have magical powers

Estetica has a huge amount of fanservice
Stigma isnt really a harem

Anime: Densetsu no Yuusha no Densetsu
The art is similar, and the plot involves people with special powers. The main girl uses a magical sword to fight and is always teasing and fighting with the main guy. The main guy had a painful childhood where he was despised and bullied by everyone, and also, he lost his first love. He also has a huge power inside him, and if that power stays out of control, he becomes evil. The symbol of that power is on his eyes.

Anime: Full Metal Panic!
Because of Kazuma and Ayano. Their relationship is similar to those of Chidori and Sosuke. And their both funny. But, their difference is that, FMP uses military theme while Kaze no Stigma uses magic theme.
