VTuber Kizuna Ai Announces Anime Project

The Kizuna Ai The Last Live "hello, world 2022" livestream concert announced a new anime project for the virtual YouTuber (VTuber) on Saturday. The livestream was advertised as Ai's final concert before an indefinite hiatus, citing "further development of Kizuna Ai" as the reason.

The Kizuna Ai YouTube channel A.I.Channel launched in 2016, gaining over 3 million subscribers since. She also runs a second channel, titled A.I.Games, which has over 1.5 million subscribers.

Ai made a cameo appearance in Ingress the Animation and voiced a character in Mahou Shoujo Site (Magical Girl Site). She also performed the ending theme of Laidbackers and the opening theme of Virtual-san wa Miteiru.

Nozomi Kasuga revealed on Twitter in April 2020 that she is the voice behind Kizuna Ai. This was formally confirmed when Kasuga signed on as an advisor at Kizuna Ai Co., Ltd. later that month.

There was a Vocaloid anime announced a year, maybe year and a half ago, but it seems to have completely disappeared without even so much as a promo image or projected release date.

Well, miku doesnt had her own anime.. but she made an acctual apparance on Anime, ofc she had role and dialogue on few episode...

I'm not into this whole Vtuber stuff but didn't the original Kizuna Ai retire and the current one(s) is replacement? Is she still popular?

It's going to be a short, because 24 minutes of Ai won't be as interesting as say 24 minutes of Umisea or Haachama, especially Haachama cooking, which would be even better than irl.

Wow, another anime project featuring VTubers!

This one it seems it's gonna feature only one of them (Kizuna Ai), but still I'm impressed how popular vtubers have become in the recent years.

If there’s one VTuber I’d expect an anime out of, it’s definitely Kizuna Ai so I’m not really all that surprised. If anything though, I’m kind of surprised it took this long.

In any case, this should be interesting. I’ll keep an eye on it for now.

Damn, how far we've come.
Weird and crazy, but kinda cool. I don't follow any V-Tubers, but gotta admit she's the first I came across and loved.

It's an interesting form of entertainment which feels like you're watching YouTubers as Anime Characters with good voice acting, if they're legitimately good. Some, if not many are awkward to watch.

Not sure if I'll watch this, but I may check it out...
Update: Just read that Ai is a seiyuu. No wonder she was great.
