Crowdfunding Campaign for 'World End Economica' Anime Adaptation Launched

A crowdfunding for an anime adaptation of Spicy Tails' World End Economica visual novel was launched on Thursday. The campaign aims to raise 5 million yen (approximately US$46,000) within 50 days. As of press time, the campaign has raised 1,788,379 yen (approx. US$16,490) from 52 backers. The costs will go toward advertising, exhibition fees at events, and translation fees for overseas media.

On the Japanese crowdfunding platform Campfire, the campaign has reached its goal and has raised 7,650,000 yen (approx. US$70,500) within 24 hours thanks to 245 backers.

Synopsis
Humanity's last inhabitable frontier, a city on the moon. Haru, a young boy who was born on the moon, has always dreamed of standing where no man has stood before. To do so, he needs capital. In order to build his capital, he gets involved with the stock market, a market that can swallow a man's desires and sometimes crush them.

Haru meets a beautiful, mysterious girl named Hagana on the moon and the wheel of destiny begins to turn... (Source: Kickstarter)

A promotional video was unveiled on Wednesday, previewing the song "Loosers" by Kishida Kyoudan & The Akeboshi Rockets.

Written by Ookami to Koushinryou author Isuna Hasekura, doujin game developer Spicy Tails first released the visual novel in Japan in 2011, with the second and third episodes following in 2012 and 2013. All three parts have since been localized for a western audience by Sekai Project and can now be found on Steam with future releases planned for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and Nintendo Switch in winter 2019. The console versions will feature the entire series.

I read half of the first visual novel years ago. I don't remember liking it as much as Spice and Wolf, though it was still pretty decent. Main girl was nice, just not Holo-tier.

Did you even bother to read the plot summary of this VN? I don't think you understand "theme" of WEE since you are posting a crap like that.

Why would non-dating sim VN even need a routes for multiple heroines? That does not make sense what so ever and that's not what this VN is about. So if you are casual looking for such VN, Eroge is that way ====> You're welcome.

WEE have a linear plot, meaning you don't get to make choice or anything, you just read until it's done. But it's a very good read and I highly recommend to any VN lovers, but I guess VN like WEE is too much for casuals who only plays dating-sim VNs.

Who's the main heroine? Can you even name her? You do realize VNDB adds "Romance" tag even for a sub characters that fells in love with each other that have nothing to do with the main protagonist and heroines, right?

If you played Narcissu and Planetarian, you should know what happened in the end. So "end up together" right? Did they end up together in the end? Thank you for making my point for me.

That's your personal opinion. What you are doing is nothing more than generalizing VN to the type of the VN you like, fail to realize that the there are more than one types of VN The fact you even mentioned "tsunb****" Just tells me you failed to even read general summary of the WEE and you are basing your opinion over a tags you read off VNDB like a true casual that you are.

What you are doing here is nothing more than a flaming and giving garbage opinions when you know nothing about series. Also, you definitely crossed the line with:

I don't like tsunderes either but you just sound really sour. I mean fudge you haven't even read it or tried it. Neither have I, but I have no idea until I do if I will like it.

Instead of just checking the tag from vndb, why don't you play it for yourself for once? Force you to choose heroine? How do you even know if protagonist even becomes together with any of the heroines without even playing?

Yeah, you should go play some eroge and add some experience on playing VN, then you'd stop sounding like a casual amateur who does not know the difference between "dating" and "non-dating" VNs. If you think visual novel is just about dating a 2D girl and screwing them, I sincerely feel sorry for you and sorry for your lack of your knowledge.

Ah haven't read the VN's but I am glad to hear it is linear. It will lead to the adaptation being easier for them. Pretty excited since it is the same writer as spice and wolf, but it also just makes me wish spice and wolf would get another season.

From the description it sounds like a propoganda anime to get Japanese citizens to invest in the stock market by selling delusions on a rags to riches story. Maybe I'd watch for a good laugh.
