Damn. I actually went out of my way to watch Ashita no Joe instead of reading it.

Sachi's voice was rambunctious and loud, but it was unique. I can still hear her voice clearly in my head. May the seiyuu rest in peace.

It's a bit sad she didn't get to play Mirai a last time in the OAVs from the recent years.

Btw, Masako Nozawa is also 82.

I hate mortality.

Rest in peace. Her performance as Sachi in Ashita no Joe and Mirai in Mobile Suit Gundam were remarkable.

No whenever I see an older person died in the headlines I know to expect the worst. We knew this day was coming but its happening rather quicker than expected. I guess the life expectancy in Japan ain't what its all cracked up to be, especially with all the overworked anime staffs.
Well she was almost 80, while many have died in their 40s :/

I didn't even notice that. This stands out then as a more natural age of death compared to several of the latest then. I just automatically assume the person was in their 60s at latest when they die in the anime world.

What the...

Mirai from Gundam / Kasha from Ideon is dead?

I knew her best as the title character of the 80s comedy Patalliro. She gave a stellar performance and carried the show very well.

Thank you Ms Shiraishi. May her soul rest in peace.

Always a shame to see these kinds of news. I haven’t seen any works she’s voiced in but Rest in Piece regardless.

RIP Fuyumi chan, you are so talented seiyuu, especially one of the well-known seiyuu back in 1960s.
